Iba naman yung introvert sa mahiyain, hindi naman handicapped ang social skills ng introverts, they can socialize when they want, they just prefer not to.

And being introvert is not a disease, its a preference. Introverts still have friends, usually sa kwentuhan pede silang maboka, yun nga lang they usually dont talk about themselves. They rarely open up.

Contrary to what most people think, an introvert is not simply a person who is shy. In fact, being shy has little to do with being an introvert! Shyness has an element of apprehension, nervousness and anxiety, and while an introvert may also be shy, introversion itself is not shyness. Basically, an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.

Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy. This is true even if they have good social skills. After being with people for any length of time, such as at a party, they need time alone to "recharge."

When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective.

Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk.

Introverts make up about 60% of the gifted population but only about 25-40% of the general population.

I remember taking a couple test for a job application to determine the applicant's personality type. These are both sales jobs. They say the results don't have anything to do with the success or failure of the applicant's application. I failed in both. The third sales job I applied for didn't have that test, just a series of interview and a mind-numbing one with the super kulit, pa-suplado effect na top boss. I surprisingly got that one despite having no sales experience Weird.

I kinda think they're lying when they say these tests are just for record purposes. It looks like it's one of their way of weeding out introverted applicants for their sales position...

im only 60-70% extroverted. the advantage to that is i don't mind kahit magmonologue ako sa mga introverted coz im not pure extroverted myself. i don't get offended easily.

im puzzled a bit. tests always show im extroverted but i know there's a side of me that's strongly introverted. in fact for an extrovert, i don't like engaging in small talks but would but7 in a conversation if i liked the topic.

di mahirap sakin ang makipagsocialize, be in a crowd or to have a conversation. pero i prefer yung mga bagay na gusto ko konti lang sana. for instance, gusto kong kumain sa mga lugar na konti ang tao, konti ang set of friends (but i get to have lots of acquaintances), tahimik na environment, i'm more of a home buddy sa free time ko, and i don't usually go out sa mga yaya na lakad. siguro kasi gastos, plus i only go out if it's really needed to.
my friends don't believe me, di sila naniniwala sa preference ko. i'm an intimate person, and sometimes i would just like to keep things to my self. and it's not always fun and enjoy naman lagi dba?
