why (NOT) to take up medicine..

Ten myths about med school and ending up a doctor;
(1) Doctors earn big bucks

(2) Doctors always know what to do

(3) Being in white uniform gives one a sense of being priveldged

(4) If you are lousy in math and good in rote memory, med school is for you

(5) Med students don't have a social life

(6) Med school is populated by idealistic geeks out to rid the world of all sickness

(7) All doctors are intelligent

(8) Med students don't sleep at all

(9) Once you pass the boards, you are on your way to an easy life and big bucks

(10) If you vomit with the sight of blood (or worse, body parts), med school is not for you.

Unless your parents are doctors and their parents were doctors as well, you better think really hard about getting yourself in med school.... any other people out there think so too?
