Was Jesus the Messiah or was he God? HOW CAN JESUS BE BOTH THE MESSIAH AND GOD??!???
I think even the most brainwashed Jesus freak can see that the so-called Messiah of the Jews CANNOT BE GOD!!!
So which one is Jesus???
Pexer mojowatcher made this post reportedly quoted from Tim Wallace-Murphy, author of "Secrets of Knights Templar":
Now that definitely makes SO MUCH SENSE.In this connection, it is interesting to reflect on what he wrote about the divinity of Jesus. His exact words are: “In a world completely indoctrinated by the idea that Jesus is God, it is difficult at first to accept that Jesus himself never claimed divine status.” In addition, he said that the doctrine of a divine being is diametrically opposed to the Jewish concept of God at the time of Jesus and no practicing Jew who subscribed to the faith of the fathers and who sought acceptance by other Jews, could present himself in such a manner without being stoned to death for blasphemy.
Despite Genesis' portrayal of "God" as a being... deeper thinking tells us that "God" cannot be a being that has attributes. Like Eastern conceptions of "God" (e.g. Tao, Atman, Brahman, etc..), it seems from the above that Jewish religious thought at the time of Jesus was already advanced enough to have gone beyond the conception of "God" as a being. In fact, to emphasize the abstractness, they don't even spell the word out completely, instead referring to G-d. Heck, even Islamic doctrines supposedly depict Allah as attributeless (and yet one one wonders what is the point of praying to someth-ng attribute-less).
The belief in Genesis as literal truth and of "God" as a being is in fact a throwback to a more primitive way of thought.
Yep, as sooooo many others have observed, Paul was a great mischief maker.“The canonical scriptures leave us no doubt, whatsoever that it was St. Paul who first preached the blasphemous doctrine that Jesus was divine and which the Church later adapted,” wrote Wallace-Murphy. But, he added, “Yet, according to his own account, Paul never met the living Jesus”.
