    Kidd leaving Dallas?

In a radio interview on ESPN's "The Michael Kay Show" yesterday, the soon-to-be free-agent point guard left open the possibility of rejoining the Nets or playing for the Knicks next season.

"I wouldn't mind either one," said Kidd, 39. "They both have great situations and I wouldn't rule those two out."

"Winning comes in different stages. I had the opportunity to play for the Nets and no one ever thought we would achieve what we did as a team. So you never can rule out the possibility of getting to the Finals.

"But if I am backing up Deron [Williams] or Jeremy Lin or Steve Nash somewhere, that fits me perfectly."

he he ... gusto rin niya ng sundot-kulangot

JTerry and JKidd are unrestricted free agents. the only way you could trade them is if do a sign and trade but it may backfire on your team if no one would like to trade for them especially if they were give FAT contracts.

    DHoward - C
    DNowitzki - PF
    SMarion - SF
    DWilliams - PG

SMarion will be the D in DEFENSE. and, DNowitzki does not mind taking shots from the outside and let the 2 other Ds attack the basket ... kahit pang kickout shot or 3rd option na lang yan okay pang championship yan.

    Sources: Deron Williams prefers 2
    By Marc Stein

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/stor...ks-sources-say

When NBA free agency begins at midnight July 1, Brooklyn Nets star guard Deron Williams will be choosing from a two-team list that only features the Nets and the Dallas Mavericks, according to sources close to the situation.

Sources told ESPN.com on Saturday night that, while this summer's No. 1 free agent remains "up in the air" about which team he'll ultimately chose, Williams already has made the decision to narrow his list of potential destinations to those two franchises.

"During a promotional appearance in Los Angeles earlier this month, Williams made it clear that he'll choose the team he feels is best positioned to contend for a championship fastest, expressing disappointment that he has tasted very little of the playoffs since leading Utah to the Western Conference finals in 2007.

"I want to go to a place where I feel like they will have a chance to build and build fast," Williams told the Los Angeles Times. "I'm not really in the mood for being part of a rebuilding process. I'm getting older. I'm about to be 28. I want to win. I want to win now. Also, I want to live in a place where I want to live and my kids will enjoy living. That's pretty much it."

The decision, then, would appear to be riding on which team's future he rates higher.

    Let's be fair.

Kidd simply answered the question about the Nets and the Knicks.

We know that the Mavs are rebuilding and they badly need younger players if they want to be relevant in the league. I believe the plan is to have Deron Williams come to Dallas and Kidd will be the play the backup position.

Kidd moving to NY is just his backup plan.

Sana wag bitawan si Kidd. Kelangan talaga natin sya. Sya ang key sa Dallas comebacks kasi lagi syang composed di nararattle sa kahit anong situation. He can defend the toughest guys and his playmaking ability and basketball iq is topnotch.

okay okay ... everybody wants to be sentiment but MCuban is being realistic

    JKidd = +8M
    JTerry = +11M

how much is the DMavericks willing to offer for DHoward and DWilliams? and are the 2Js willing to take a pay cut just to be part of another championship campaign? remember there is the mid-level range salary cap.

totoo lang, judging on how JKidd, a starter, played this season, tells a lot about his real intentions while JTerry did his best eventhough he was relegated as the 6th man of the team, in short he was a bench player. amongst the two, MCuban should go after JTerry but at what cost?

Yes, JKidd is old and he has lost a step or two... but obviously, JKidd was sandbagging this season.

Coming off a championship year, and a long lay-off due to the lockout, he wasn't in his best condition to play competitive basketball this year. I believe he and the entire Dallas Mavericks knew that a back-to-back championship would be impossible, especially after losing major players that helped them during their championship run.

The Mavericks franchise formally went on a rebuilding mode when they chose to let go of Tyson Chandler... that automatically meant that they were already preparing for the possible arrival of Deron Williams (and Dwight Howard).

It would be unwise for a veteran player like Kidd to risk his health on a season that was meant to be a transition period.

But if Dallas were to make a trade, it would be wiser for the Mavs to trade the Jet since he'd still be marketable. The Mavs will be able to get a better deal if they use Terry as a trade offer. He can still be a starter for other teams, while Kidd may be considered as a high risk trade for other teams because of his age. In fact, Kidd has already admitted that he is now ready to be relegated to a back up position.

Plus, losing Kidd would have more impact on the character of the team. Terry can be easily replaced by a younger and more athletic player or a spot-up shooter, while Kidd's ability to control the game is almost irreplaceable.

Here's my take on the Kidd situation...

JKidd would opt for a pay-cut and would even accept a one year contract if Deron Williams decides to go to Dallas.

    Another possibility...
the Mavs will trade him and he will demand to be traded to either teams in New York if the Mavs fail to land Deron Williams.

The third scenario would have Steve Nash returning to Dallas. ... and Kidd and Nash alternating as point guards on the Mavs' offense.

No offensement sa mga fans ng dallas..tama nga ang nabasa ko sa isang pahayagan na willing to trade talaga ang dallas for howard...

David Aldridge: ‘Not a chance’ Dwight Howard stays in Houston if traded there

Amid a report that stated the Houston Rockets are hoping to amass enough trade assets to make a deal with the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard–even though Howard would only be in Houston for one season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2013 — a source with knowledge of Howard’s thinking said Monday that there was “not a chance” Howard would be persuaded to remain in Houston if traded there, and would leave next summer to sign elsewhere.

ESPN.com reported Monday morning that the Rockets, who currently have the 14th and 16th picks overall in the first round of Thursday’s Draft, were trying to move up in order to acquire two high first-round picks that would be sent to the Magic as part of a package for Howard. Howard decided to “opt in” to the final year of his contract late this past season rather than opt out and be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

But Howard has given no indication he plans to sign any long-term extension in Orlando, and the Magic are resigned to the fact that they’ll likely have to trade him sometime this offseason unless he has a dramatic change of heart. The Nets and Mavericks have been among the most ardent suitors for the 26-year-old Howard, who missed Orlando’s first-round playoff loss to Indiana after undergoing back surgery in April. Howard believes he’ll be back on the court in time for the start of next season.

The Rockets have made it clear that they are willing to take Howard with no assurances that he’d remain after next season. They’ve offered several different packages to different teams currently in the top 10. League sources said Monday that the Rockets have put guard Kevin Martin in at least two trade packages, and it’s believed that the Rockets are also shopping guard Kyle Lowry, who started at point guard before being sidelined with a bacterial infection that caused him to miss almost a month of the season.

Lowry subsequently said he didn’t think he would be able to play next season for Coach Kevin McHale, citing unspecified issues. McHale told local reporters Monday he didn’t have a problem with Lowry and could coach him next season.

One league source said the Rockets hoped to make deals for the additional Draft picks using existing players, so they would have as many as four first-rounders they could put in a package to Orlando for Howard. One potential deal, according to a league source, would send Martin to Minnesota–presumably for the Wolves’ 18th pick in the first round–where Martin would play for former Rockets coach Rick Adelman; Martin had success playing for Adelman during their years together in Houston. But rumors of a Martin-Adelman reunion in Minnesota have been thrown around for months.

The Magic just hired its new GM, Rob Hennigan, last week, and fired assistant GM Dave Twardzik and several members of the scouting and basketball staffs over the weekend. Orlando reached agreement Monday with Pistons vice president of basketball operations Scott Perry to be Hennigan’s assistant GM in Orlando. Perry will have more decision-making authority with the Magic than in Detroit, where he’d been for all but once season since 2000, when he joined the organization as a scout. Perry spent the 2007-08 season in Seattle as assistant general manager.

^ Dude, malinaw pa sa sikat ng araw na for life na ang pagiging maverick ni Dirk. Isa pa, may "no trade clause" siya sa kanyang kontrata. And after ma-out ng dallas sinabi na agad nila donnie nelson na "Dirk wants a better supporting cast so that is what we are going to give him."
    ----------------------------------
    Dirk's latest interview on KDFW:

He basically said that the Mavericks would love to have D-Will. Dirk also talked about how he thought he was one of the best point guards in the league and that he was in his prime and would only get better with Dallas.

He was asked if he had been in contact in any way with Williams to which Dirk got a big smile on his face and said that he really didn't think he could do a lot of recruiting because he wasn't sure about the NBA rules on that kind of thing. He didn't flat out deny it, though, that he had not had any contact with him.

Overall, no news breaking content, but you could tell that he really wants D-Will on the Mavs and that they're going to do everything to convince him to join the Mavs.

He made it pretty clear that he expects to retire as a Maverick. He didn't leave any room open that he would go to another team, if things went another direction and the Mavs went into more of a rebuild mode.

He said that getting his championship was the biggest thing and now he believes his playing days will end in Dallas.

    Seriously?!

You're willing to trade 2 future hall of famers for a player who hasn't proven anything yet? Trade VC and two other players for him, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

But I don't think anybody here will want to trade Dirk & Kidd for Howard. Howard is not that valuable yet.

Aside from his cape donning dunk slam champion title, all he can boast is his 3 time defensive player of the year awards.

Dirk and Kidd are proven clutch players.
    Howard is not.
... Dwight Howard can't even shoot free throws.

  18. #78
Atsaka may first round pick ang dallas number 17. Sana makakuha ng magaling.
