Philippine Senator Tito Sotto slams CNN for negative feature on Philippines

Philippine Senator Tito Sotto slams CNN for negative feature on Philippines, threatens to pull out ad placements

Apparently failing to distinguish between the necessarily favourable content advertisements display in favour of whoever is funding them, and a news report which is in principle derived from direct observation and facts obtained from as reliable sources as can be possibly engaged by reporters, Philippine Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III lashed out at global new channel Cable News Network (CNN) for airing reports on poverty and other "negative" features of the Philippines despite the Philippine government spending millions on ad placements with the network...

    Pagpag is our problem?

oh we only have Zayas, an area located near the landfill

just because the problem only affects a certain minority doesn't mean the problem is not relevant.

and stick to the topic, tita sotto's OA reaction to CNN

if it was wrong to report minority news, by golly we'd be free from hearing of NOy's lovelife (or the lack of it)

    NO TO SOTTO IN 2016.

Did CNN clarify that it was the only location that serve Pagpag?

The impression on Pinoys now, thanks to that CNN report, is that we have OFWs working abroad so that their relatives back home won't eat pagpag.

If pagpag should be a problem, it's a local government problem that the City of Manila Health and Sanitation Office should be addressing years ago. A karinderia allowed to operate like that as a business without the knowledge of city officials? It's a health menace!

you want to tackle those then tell CNN to do a documentary of the whole problem.

don't worry mate, only weak minded foreigners will think what you posted about OFWs and the pagpag relationship

in the mean time, we need more news like these that way the rich and middle class will wake up a bit.

and for OA politicians who refuse to see the problem and erect a big wall to obscure the truth to shut up.

Again, what problem? The local government health problem? In that case, Sotto should be nagging Lim or Isko Moreno.

Let us not dwell on our anti-Noynoy stance for a minute. Try to be neutral at least.

Nothing about the Philippines sells except poverty.

I thought the middle class and rich class are the ones educated about this. Many of them do have jobs are doing their part mind you. If anything its that Poor that needs to wake up ... the refuse to educate themselves and do stupid things like make a business out of Pagpag.

The OFW who made sacrifices and opened a business employing thousands of jobs is probably a better story than a someone who made it out with a rich woman and became pretty hated politician.

    you're hitting yourself lol

kaya nga SOTTO is being OA with the report. instead of barking at CNN for the report, he should shut up and questino the local gov't why there are people (even 10 or 20 its still a problem) are eating papag

    gets mo na?

Exactly.
