What is the schedule in Ateneo like?

I've heard po kasi na for the first two years e block schedule daw ang susundin (maliban nalang sa PE and natural science)

so anyway, tong block po ba, ateneo na ba magbibigay or kami po ba mamimili? it would be nice if it was the latter kasi I don't really like having classes at 7-7:30 since malayu-layo din kami sa campus

And speaking of which, what is the usual schedule like? I mean, in general, gaano kaaga po nagsastart ang classes, and gaano kalate naman sya natatapos?

Unfortunately, you do not get to choose your block. Ateneo chooses it for you and you will have to stick with your block till 2nd year (unless you shift or change schedules).

M-W-F classes can start as early as 7:30am (except for PE and lab, which can start as early as 7am) and are usually 1 hour each, except for lab. Your Lit class will always come after your English class and these subjects are always MWF classes.

T-Th classes can start as early as 7am and are usually 1 1/2 hours each, except for lab (2 hours for non SOSE majors and other non-science course and 4 hours for SOSE majors and other science courses).

About the too early thing. You can ask the school (ADAA ata or Registrar.. not sure) to change your schedule if it is really impossible for you to get to school on time. Although there is a big chance they will not grant it. My Intact facilitator (2nd year siya last year) lives all the way in Cavite and is always on time for my block's Intact class every Wednesday at 7:30am (1st sem).

Your class schedule is mostly chosen already by the school for you but can also depend on your random number and on what PE and Natsci you take (unless you're a SOSE major or science major, then you only need to enlist for PE).

My longest break during the 1st sem of my freshman year was 1 1/2 hours. During my 2nd sem, my longest break was 4 hours (PE was 7-8 and my next class started 12pm). I decided to go home na lang during that break. There are many tambay areas naman in the campus and along Katipunan, pero I have to say mabobore ka rin at some point especially pag wala kang kasama. You should have already gotten your random number at this point (I believe they give it to you once you confirm?).

If you really don't want an early morning class, better come up with a good excuse and load rev. Having a morning class ain't that bad. Block bonding din yan especially if late dumadating yung teacher niyo

Well I had 2 "advisers." There's one student faci from the school (yung minention ko) and there's also a moderator (my block's moderator is a student from ASMPH ata.. not really sure since we weren't that close with her

Oh and don't overcut intact. You would NOT want to spend another sem of it with a different block.

Classes should end at 4:30 everyday for freshies. Although meron akong Eng/Lit blockmate na may lab daw hanggang 6pm. I'm not really sure kung totoo yun haha. Pero science major siya so baka totoo.

And your block will be your block until your 2nd year only. Kasi pag 3rd year ka na, you can choose your own sched. The school will pick most of your sched for you during your 1st and 2nd years. Kasama mo sila sa Intact and Fil (unless may ma basic fil sa inyo). Iba block mo sa Eng/Lit pero 1st year lang yan. Sa math din, pwede mo makasama around 1/2 to 3/4 of your course block.

Di valid na reason kasi masyadong maaga eh. Pwede rin na sabihin mo conflict sa PE/natsci mo tapos la ka na choice, minsan di na nila chine check eh kaso mahirap baka mahuli

hehe curious lang kasi if in UP daw e there's usually no classes on Monday and only a few on Saturday, ano naman pong days sa ateneo ang walang pasok or wala ganung classes? hehe

Usually, the 7am classes are PE and lab lang naman eh. All other subjects will usually start at around 7:30 on MWF, depending on what schedule Ateneo gives you. Nung 1st sem ko nung 1st year, MF ko started 9:30 and W ko started 7:30. T was 9am and Th was 12nn.

And yeah, load rev is the same as change of sched. Nakalimutan ko lang yung tawag Di ko pa naexperience eh.

And ano namn. Wag mo ako i-"po" please. 2nd year pa lang ako

since maraming faculty ang jgsom na practitioners and therefore part time, makakapagturo lang sila outside office hours, which is after 6 at saturdays... i think kung jgsom student ka, inevitable na magkaroon ng at least isang 6-9 class, or isang saturday class... di ko lang sure yung meco... pero 3 hour classes are just once a week...

Ahhh... hopefully, sa jgsom nga lang po yung ganun.. hehe, hirap na kung ganun kalate umuwi o____o

It depends, really. Tanda ko 1st yr 1st sem ko, my MWF sched was
11:30-12:30 Fil 11. 2:30-3:30 En 11. 3:30-4:30 Lit 13. May dagdag lang na Intact pag Mondays 7:30-8:30 at PE pag Fridays 7:00-9:00. It really depends on the sched you get. But most likely talaga na everyday around 4 ang uwi mo.
