What kind of math is in BS Accoutancy?

I'm an incoming 4th year H.S. Student and soon to take college entrance test/s. And up to now I'm still undecided on what course to take.

What kind of math is/are involved in BS Accountacy? Does it involves Geometry, Algebra, Statistics, Taxation? (These are the branches i can handle)
Does it involves Trigonometry and Calculus? (While these are the branches of math the i CAN'T handle)

Also, What made me curious about Accountancy is that i was able to get a score of 99+ on my Budget,Marketing and Forecasting Test in the NCAE.

Algebra and Business Math ***. Pero samin may Analytic Geometry and Caculcus pampahirap sa BSA students haha. Actually may kinalaman naman sila sa business un nga lang ang way ng computation is through equations like what we are doing in Algebra and Quantitave Techniques..

Ang math na talagang applicable sa accounting subjects are time value of money (for solving valuation problems) and algreba for the more difficult equations sa managerial accounting.

Ang math topics/subjects na very applicable sa accounting subjects ay time value of money (for valuation) and algebra for solving the more difficult equations in managerial accounting & finance-related topics.

since you're an incoming college take in mind that all you need for now is MDAS.

What you really need is reading comprehension. Most of the time, just change a single word and the approach to the problem will be entirely different Especially in the theoretical portions

    Btw, anong school ka papasok?

Oh, just another thing, kahit anong ayaw mo sa mga math.. it is a must take pa rin sa college you will still be studying math courses no matter what :> hehe

i've been a cpa for more than two decades and taught accounting for 13 years; as far as i know the mathematics in accounting is basic arithmetic - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. accounting, however, takes a analysis -- finding and analyzing the results and relationships of these mathematical operations; subjects which are incorporated in bs accountancy use some algebra (statistics, investments, economics); i can't understand why some schools offer a lot of mathematics subjects and calculus, and load the students with 30-31 units per semester, that's taxing the students and the parents who have to pay for the additional costs of unimportant subjects; in my college days, 21.5 units per semester including rotc and pe is quite heavy enough; no calculus; the only mathematics-loaded subject is statistis, yet we passed the licensure exams which require definite answers, preparation of working papers; preparation of budgets/financial forecasts; etc.; the one thing that an accountancy student should hurdle is analytical ability; a good analytical mind would be an asset... this is my 2-cent worth ....
