Kudos to CNN for displaying the true status of our country
    We really deserve it. Haha

I don't think this is unique in the Philippines. This pagpag story is kind of old news already. I've seen a mother from China feeding her own baby with food full of maggots from the garbage can in the middle of a modern Chinese city.

Post Manila's Poor and Children eat Garbage

According to your "President" PNoy Aquino, everyhting is great in the Philippines now. Never been better! Economy is amazing and there are no problems!!

Yellow Media such as ABSCBN propagates it and shows you nothing but amazing news from Noynoy

It's a RARE event that America reports on the Philippines, here's a sample of when it actually does.

i had to share it kasi bihira halos walang report sa philippines sa america

....the truth is never shown to Filipinos

economy is in such a state now that a lot of poor people eat garbage just to survive

actually feel ko the middle class know the truth but can't do much to help dahil when I say middle class I do mean one step laglag na agad sa poverty level

    parang ganito

rich class = knows the truth but most WILL not do anything about it
middle class = knows the truth but most CAN'T do anything about it
poor class = knows the truth but most DENY and believe anything crocodiles say

kind of reminds me of the story about the eagle egg. (written to the best of my memory)

a farmer found an egg in the forest but he didn't know what bird it was so he placed it in a hen coop along with chicken eggs. the egg hatched with the chicks and lo it was an eagle. however, the eagle believed he was a chicken and lived as a chicken as the chicken who hatched him told him so.

one day he saw an adult eagle soar high above them and the young eagle wished that he could fly as high and majestic also. the young eagle was about to flap his wings when a chicken told him to stop dreaming because the eagle was a "chicken" and chickens don't fly.

so the eagle grew old scratching the ground for food like chickens do and died without flying as chickens have.
it's a children's tale but it aptly describes the situation here in the philippines. The poor know they are poor and yearn to be at least financially healthy but can't because of external factors and self-doubt.

and btw, dear mai mislang and miscomm group,[spoiler start] wag nyo gamitin to sa speech ni NOynoyl please lang mahiya kayo sa mga apog nyo with your pro-poor linlang propagandas[spoiler end]

so, where are the dumb #pinoypride hashtags on Twitter (that are rampant nowadays, no thanks to the Jessica Sanchez garbage on AI) after the release of this CNN report? aba! lumabas kaya tayo sa US network TV.

exactly, this is CNN .. as in the actual CNN not "CNN-Asia".. to show you the rarity of there being any news reports on the Philippines

the last time Philippines was featured on CNN was the natural disaster in Mindanao the typhoon forgot the name..

so good catch, this is definitely CNN

nice to see Suzanne Malveaux on the real CNN. she's a rarity on CNN International nowadays.

again, where are the #pinoypride hashtags now that the Philippines has finally made it on US network TV news?

  11. #31
CNN US is just like any other American media outlet--it's parochial. It is just like Fox News. So anything shown there has to be in the interest of the American audience. And when it comes to the Philippines, that interest is absent, which means that novelty news like pagpag will figure.

I think kailangan nang magprotest ang pinoy against CNN. Where are the politicians who complained against Mr Baldwin and Teri Hatcher? They are badly needed now against CNN.

RH bill... please oh please oh please

totooo yan as a healthcare worker TOTOO YAN!

dito sa lie-in clinic, it's 5 buntis a bed dahil 5 beds lang kami and darating sila DAGSAAN. iba gravida 12! (gravida means ilang beses nabuntis not taking into account ilan ang "alive" na anak)

Sad to say but TRUE STORY Bro.

Pinakita din tong "Pagpag" story sa BBC feature "Toughest place to be a Bus Driver".

  19. #39
Nagsimula itong pagpag story sa BBC. Dun ko lang din unang nakita. I think the unique part of PAGPAG is that, we still manage to cook these left-over foods to get rid of bad bacterias. Worst part is, binibenta pa at madaming tumatangkilik! What the fuck!?
