    Juday is ‘nanay na nanay’

Manila, Philippines – ‘NANAY’ JUDAY – What’s the adjective that best describes Judy Ann Santos?

“Nanay na nanay” – loving, caring, hands-on mother. But a disciplinarian when called for, every now and then.

It was a pleasure listening to Juday advise young mothers like her on proper nutrition at SM Megamall last week. It was actually a presscon called by Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN) to hype Lactum 3+ & 6+, which the actress is endorsing.

    *
ADVICE – MJN also invited at the presscon some young mothers, who took the rare chance to exchange parenting ideas with Juday. They told her their kids do not want to eat veggies. “Pero karne at junk food ang gusto.”

“Nanay” Juday said kids in general do not go for veggies. Her daughter Yohan is one. So she “bargains” with Yohan. She may have her share of hotdog tonight, but for lunch she should eat veggies. Juday said she “repackages” kalabasa, sayote, kamote, kamatis into attractive soup or salad. “It works,” Juday assured.

Of course, she also serves Yohan Lactum 3+ & 6+, rich in vitamins and nutrients.

    *
‘100% PANATAG WORLD’ – After the presscon, Judy Ann Santos stayed on at SM Megamall to visit the supermart and other outlets, part of “100% Panatag World.” It’s [a] one-of-a-kind event, visiting malls in Metro Manila, dedicated to helping moms raise 100% nourished kids.

Juday is 100% panatag (at peace, confident mom), knowing she raises (and feeds) her two children well, Yohan and Lucho.

Of course, she’s also [a] good wife to Ryan Agoncillo.

    *
YOUNG SUPERSTAR – AT the presscon, colleague Mario Bautista noted that she has no movie or TV show yet. Fans, the public are missing the Young Superstar.

Whatever happened to the adult edition of “Master Chef”?

Juday said it was pre-empted by the Teenage Edition of PBB, but a last-quarter of 2012 playdate is being planned.

She assured she’d have a movie and a soap this year.

At this point, her longtime manager and mentor, Alfie Lorenzo, whispered something to Juday. Tito Alfie was serious looking. Galit kaya?

“Hindi galit si Tito Alfie,” Juday laughed. “Ibinulong niya may malaking project ako, malapit na. Pero di puwedeng sabihin. Wala pang downpayment.”

Could it be a movie pairing the Young Superstar with the Original Superstar, Nora Aunor?

    Let’s wait and see.

Judy Ann Santos shares her views on celebrity Twitter wars
    5/26/2012 2:29 AM
    by: Rhea Manila Santos

Although Judy Ann Santos does not have a Twitter account, the talented actress said she can commiserate with celebrities like Sharon Cuneta who has become very vocal on the social messaging site by sending out tweets defending her daughter KC Concepcion. I’m not referring to Ate Sharon kasi, kasi payapa na yung issue eh. Wala namang pumapansin. Especially when you work for a major company. Wala na dapat ganyan dahil it’s a very sensitive topic to begin with. Eh nanay ako di ba? Sinasabi ko nga kahit mangyari sa akin yan, baka maging halimaw ako, baka higit pa,” she said during her appearance as a Lactum endorser last May 19 at the SM Megamall activity center.

The 34-year-old actress said she has not yet been able to talk to Sharon since the online incident happened. Yung ganun eh,” she stressed.

Juday said she herself also experienced the same thing after hearing some not-so-pleasant comments after giving birth to her son Lucho in 2010. Pero at the same time naisip ko din na it’s not worth my time, it’s not worth the effort dahil una hindi ko sila kilala and maybe it made them feel good to say those words about my kid.

After just having come back from spending a week long birthday celebration in Singapore, Juday said she was very happy with husband Ryan Agoncillo’s birthday gift. So kumain ako ng kumain (laughs). Lahat yun kanya. Yun ang kanyang birthday present. Alam niya kasi na pagka-out-of-the-country, masarap kasi kapag kasama mo mga magulang mo eh. At saka minsan lang kasi kami, and tamang tama din Mothers' Day kaya maganda rin na kasama namin ang mga mommies namin nung week na yun,” she shared.

Judy Ann Santos shares her secret in giving her kids 100% nutrition
    Demai G. Sunio-Granali
    Wednesday, May 23, 2012 @ 07:03PM

What is Judy Ann Santos’ secret in giving her kids nutritious food? Good communication. “Talk to them and make them understand the consequences kapag hindi sila kumain ng tama.” The actress-mom also swears by a glass of milk for them everyday.

Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo knows too well how tough it is to feed kids with vegetables.

Everyday the actress-mom goes through discussions with her kids Yohan and Lucho about eating junk food.

“My kids love junk food, but I don't restrict them. I allow them kasi parang ganoon din, e.

“Kung hindi naman ako ang kasama nila I’m sure, one way or another, some people will give these junk foods to them, e, di ako na lang.

“Right now, si Lucho kasi doesn’t understand pa, e, but I try to add in mga veggies and fruits sa daily diet niya.

“Okay to eat French fries, okay to eat burger. Si Lucho kasi he loves pasta, he loves bread, he loves crackers, and fruits so it’s not really hard.

“But with Yohan, meron kami laging deal.

“’Okay, you want to eat French fries now?’ or ‘You want to eat ice cream now? Tomorrow you cannot eat anymore, okay?’ or ‘O, sige you ate ice cream kanina, you eat gulay naman tonight.’

“Palagi kaming may gano’n and she knows naman that one.

“She’s a good girl naman so I allow her like an ice cream for tonight before going to bed.

“Kasi pag mapilit, pag sinasabi ko sa kanya ‘That’s too much sugar hindi ka makakatulog.’

“She would say, ‘No, Mommy, it’s okay,’ so hahayaan ko siya.

“So, binibigay ko sa kanya [iyong gusto niya] and then I let her experience kung ano iyong consequence na kapalit ng ipinilit niya.

“So, next time, naiintindihan na niya. It’s actually just a matter of good conversation with your children.”

Although Juday admits that parenting is still a learning process for her, she feels it is her duty as a “Panatag Mom” to share with other parents what she has learned inside her own home.

Which is why for the next two months, Juday will be touring the country to appear as a guest speaker in Lactum’s 100% Panatag World.

This event is a fun-filled educational expo made especially for families so they can learn tips and techniques on how to achieve 100% nutrition.

Last May 19, Juday graced the event’s staging at SM Megamall Activity Center and there she revealed her secret weapon: “I give my kids Lactum everyday, kesyo kumain sila ng veggies noong araw na iyon o hindi.

“Kasi, Lactum has all the nutrients na kailangan nila like iron, folic acid, vitamin B12…’yan lahat kasi ng mga 'yan kailangang kailangan ng katawan nila sa paglaki so importante ‘yan.

Catch the Lactum 100% Panatag World on June 2-3 at Puregold Caloocan; June 16-17 at Trinoma Mall, Quezon City; June 23-24 at CSI Mall Dagupan; June 30-July 1 at Puregold Tanza, Cavite; July 7-8 at Robinsons Mall Novaliches; July 14-15 Ever Gotesco Commonwealth; and July 28-29 at Waltermart North EDSA in Quezon City.

Judy Ann will be appearing on selected dates only.

    Cinemalaya announces 2012 film entries
    ABS-CBNnews.com
    Posted at 05/26/2012 2:43 PM | Updated as of 05/26/2012 2:43 PM

MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-five films have been announced as the official entries to this year's Cinemalaya Festival.

The Cinemalaya Foundation and the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Friday announced the entries to each of the three categories the 2012 Cinemalaya Festival: the New Breed Full Length Feature category, the New Breed Short Film category, and the Director's Showcase category.

Ten films have been chosen for the full-length feature lineup of "new breed" directors -- each of which aims to "reflect and enrich Filipino identity and culture with fresh insight and artistic integrity."

Competing entries for the said category are: Emmanuel Palo's "Santa Nina", Gino Santos and Jeff Stelton's "The Animals", Vincent Sandoval's "Aparisyon", Mes de Guzman's "Diablo", Lemuel Lorca and Jerry Gracio's "Intoy Syokoy ng Kalye Marino", Alfred Aloysius Adlawan's "Ang Katiwala", Marietta Jamora's "Ang Nawawala", Paul Sta. Ana's "Oros", Julius Sotomayor Cena's "Mga Dayo", and Loy Arcenas' "Requieme".

Ten short films for the New Breed category were likewise picked to compete in the festival. These are: Nadjoua Bansil's "Bohe: Son of the Sea", Sigrid Andrea Bernardo's "Ang Paghihintay sa Bulong", Mario Celada's "Pasahero", Sheron Dayoc's "As He Sleeps", Marianito Dio Jr.'s "Sarong Aldaw", Emmanuel Escalona, Jr.'s "Balintuna", Hannah Espia's "Ruweda", Chuck Gutierrez's "Ulian", Richard Legaspi's "Manenaya", and Jarell Serencio's "Victor".

Experienced directors are also set to showcase their works in the Cinemalaya Festival. Adolfo Alix, Jr.'s "Kalayaan", Joey Javier Reyes' "Mga Mumunting Lihim", Raymond Red's "Kamera Obskura", Jun Lana's "Bwakaw", and Lawrence Fajardo's "Posas," will also compete in the Director's Showcase category.

Each of the 25 films were provided a seed grant of P500,000 by the Cinemalaya Foundation, and were monitored to guide "the new filmmaker to meet professional standards set by Cinemalaya in the financial, artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking, particularly casting decisions."

Of the foundation's involvement in the production of its film entries, Cinemalaya Foundation Chairman Tonyboy Cojuangco said it is careful to strike a balance between "the foundation's desire to catch potential technical and artistic flaws and the new filmmaker's passion to make bold decisions."

"Keeping this delicate balance, we believe, has been the strength of Cinemalaya as it continues to produce films that are daring in its storytelling yet cognizant of industry standards," he said.

Now on its eighth year, the Cinemalaya Festival will premiere the 25 film entries starting July 20-29 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Ayala Cinemas in Greenbelt Makati and Trinoma Quezon City.

Pagmamahal ang ‘kontrata’ nina Judy Ann, Tito Alfie - Ryan Agoncillo
    May 5th, 2012

GAGAWIN ngayong Sabado, Mayo 5, ang Talentadong Pinoy Battle of the Champions, at ihahayag ang panalo bukas, Mayo 6.

But no, they’re still ano, eto nga nakita n’yo pinagalitan ako, eh (ni Tito Alfie).

–Reggee Bonoan

    Judy Ann, kapalit ni AiAi
    May 23rd, 2012

For teleseryes, I am exclusive with them,” pahayag ng aktres. – Reggee Bonoan

Judy Ann, Gladys Share Thoughts On Celebrity Twitter Issues
    By NR RAMOS
    May 26, 2012, 4:24pm

MANILA, Philippines - Judy Ann Santos says she perfectly understands her fellow celebrities who sometimes lose their cool when dealing with bashers on Twitter, noting Sharon Cuneta and how she reacted when an ABS-CBN executive supposedly posted seemingly malicious messages that alluded to the Megastar’s daughter, KC Concepcion, on the social networking site.

According to Santos, she might have done the same thing, if not more, given the situation.

“Baka maging halimaw ako, baka higit pa,” said she in an interview with push.com on May 26.

Santos said that people should learn to think twice before posting anything through the popular microblogging site.

Especially when you work for a major company. Wala na dapat ganyan dahil it’s a very sensitive topic to begin with,” she said.

The 34-year-old actress also told Push that she almost got into the same situation a few years back after hearing some not-so-pleasant comments about her son Lucho in the media.

“Pero at the same time naisip ko din na it’s not worth my time, it’s not worth the effort dahil una hindi ko sila kilala and maybe it made them feel good to say those words about my kid.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Gladys Reyes, who counts Cuneta as Godmother in her marriage to actor Christopher Roxas, said she feels bad that the situation got out of hand.

“Nakakalungkot lang na kailangang humantong sa ganoon,” she said in an interview with PEP on May 25.

But just like Santos, she understands where Cuneta is coming from.

She then went on to call for responsible “Tweeting.”

So, respeto lang talaga siguro. Importante rin na think before you tweet,” she said.
