point is, a christian lives in constant communication with God, whatever prayer he makes, whether it be for the country, for his family, or himself, or for you, are all based on the Spirit's guidance.

you can't blame the christians for not encouraging or not offering a widespread prayer rally on this nationwide all-affecting problem. Do realize that there are also christians in China, and there is a possibility that filipino christians are praying for China's interest, it really depends on God's arrangement.

Do you think that prayer is like a summoning an elemental to aide you in your conflict?
Do you think that we christians are like the bishops in your chess match? or your cleric in your party?

no, prayer is to drop all your interests, including national problems, and fully rely on God, whether China bombs the Philippines or the US helps us get the island we think we own, it's up to the Lord, if we lose to China then we should not feel sad, for everything works for good to those who love God.

What we need to pray for is that the Lord will preserve us through in any result that we face.

we'll thats just in case it does become a war. and since i dont think they want that either but surely they do want control of those resources, they'll might give us economic and military assistance enough for us to be taken seriously.

if it's self interest then we should pray that the Philippines win against China.

praying for us to be preserved is to pray that we are still subject to His interest, not our interests

so how exactly will this billions be spent? I don't think the Americans will just hand us over that.

they have to have a military base again in the PI, in which why I think that even though they left Subic, they weren't gone totally; hence "balikatan exercises"

The Americans will fork that money over as soon as they see some benefit from it. The US will watch out for it's own interests, and when that coincides with ours, help will come.

As for how the money is to be used, one can always hope that it will be spent on the military. Though there's no threat of China actually doing something truly dangerous, there's no reason to be too reliant on the US.

we have had loaned billions already, pero hindi nakarating sa patutunguhan, so I strongly doubt this will happen unless US military forces are here to "somewhat supervise"

I don't think so. Those billions were (hypothetically) given with strings attached: namely, to counter Chinese influence.

at least it will upgrade our defenses somewhat, infrastructure and skills-wise and that means they also have to improve our roads for a better (more efficient) delivery, give training to our military (and their families), and construct or pioneer a project to improve our energy source

not to mention, to give jobs to those within its parameter

  16. #76
makakatulong ang infrastructures lalo na kung mga project manager ay mga puti. i mean years ang bibilangin bago matapus ang isang project, so meaning year ang itatagal ng stay ng mga American expats dito.

not to say pa yung local employments pa during construction of this projects. at yung mga puting expast with their family sa pinas spending their money. this will stimulate the economy.

though, it will still, not help us with the territorial battle against China.

also, what would US gain when they will build a Nuke powerplant in the PI? who would manage it? (government? duh!)

hindi nga feasible at cost efficient ang mga alternative sources for now.

US gains control until such time filipino engineers are trained to operate the plants.

and also we need defenses on the plants, this means weaponry transaction again hahaha

aba, I was just answering a question started by the TS.

and what's so derailing about giving answers about Him to those who seek?

ang nangdederail ng mga threads dito e yung nagderail ng isang thread ko about whether women should lead in the church.
