posible. if you have cash, if you have time and if you have interest. School? If you want to earn a complete IT degree, STI or Informatics can be a good idea. If you have more money, you can try Mapua. If you plan to take a certification course like CCNA, Microsoft System certification, UP offers it.

Magshift ka na habang maaga pa. My cousin experienced the same dilemma.

    Hi rinkashiki!

Same tayo, RN na din ako. I graduated last 2009 pa. 2 years tambay kasi nagkasakit ako at kelangan ng medyo mahabang recovery. Nagwowork ako ngayon as fitness trainer.

Plan ko mag-aral by next year sa UPIDTC(formerly UPITTC). ipon-ipon muna.

PLAN A: self-study tapos enrol sa UPIDTC next year kapag naipasa ang entrance test.

PLAN B: self study tapos enrol sa MFI ng 'program logic formulation' at 'c++' tapos 'java programming' sa NCC then apply as programmer trainee KAPAG bumagsak sa entrance ng UPIDTC.

    ayan...

I know how you feel, ganyan ang ibang friends ko, nagsisisi at nag nurse, pagkatapos ng 4 na taon na paghihirap at katakot takot na dugo at pawis sa board exam, ayaw lang pala mga maging nurses.

Life is too short dear, don't die miserable.

    Smile

Hello everyone! Please don't lose hope. Like some of you, I just took up nursing because I was forced by my parents. Though I passed the Nursing Licensure Exam last June 2009, I did not pursue this profession since my heart is not in it. Currently, I am happy in the field of IT as a trainee.

I shifted to IT by applying in an IT Bootcamp Program. There are actually companies such as Accenture, Capgemini, Pointwest, etc that will accept career shifters. These companies will train you with IT concepts and equip you with programming skills depending on which technology you will be assigned. Of course, it would be a bit difficult since we do not have any programming subjects like other career shifters such as those from ECE courses so I advise you to do a bit of self-study to have a background.

Just believe in yourself and your capabilities. Show interviewers how you really want to be in the field of IT. Don't be afraid to try because you will never know what the outcome will be if you don't try.

PS. To be updated with the latest IT Bootcamp Programs, you can check out The Working Filipino forum here in PEX or search job sites like Jobstreet. I wish you guys all the best! ^__^

^ Thank you Jazzmine22.

I am 25 years old now so it's never too late to shift to a different career. Kaya nyo yan! ^_^

Wow naman, kaka-inspire po kayo. 2011 nursing graduate po ako, RN din. Currently online freelancer ako (pero full time work), pero gusto ko sana maging programmer, mas nageenjoy akong maging developer. I'm taking M.Sc. in Health Informatics pero mas gusto ko yung technical side like programming. I'll apply for bootcamps at companies na nag-aaccept ng career shifters. Thanks po ulit.

Yup, UP manila lang po kasi meron ngayon eh, grad school po pala to. But I suggest po kung mas feel nyo yung technical magenroll nalang muna sa comsci courses or di kaya apply apply muna sa mga companies na may bootcamp trainings at tumatanggap ng career shifters.
