I'm working here as a consultant doing a development project for Sun Life. Environment wise for IT, pretty laid back for some teams (including mine). Other teams as I heard, a little bit more strict about their time. Application support teams get more OTs specially when they have major issues. But Sun Life pays for OT reasonably well.

I say overall, it depends on the project you get to be assigned. Right now, our consulting firm is doing 2 dev projects for Sun Life. Lucky for you if you are hired as a java resource as you will probably be exposed with good technology sets - Struts, Spring, Hibernate and object oriented javascript.

Don't expect too much though, madaming project sa Sun Life. There are legacy apps you also might end up with.

Thanks for the info. It will be a big help. What about software tester how's the career growth in this position. I saw in jobstreet that they are hiring fresh grad for that said position. I want to know if the growth will be same as java dev.good company for software tester or not.
