TIPS: Call Center Interview for Beginners

    BOOM! OLALA!

Here are some tips on how to answer pain in the A** job interview questions.

    Tell me about yourself
    3 keywords
    • Educational Attainment
    • Awards or Recognitions (optional, wag nyo isama best in math, spelling, filipino, english.) jusme....
    • Work Experience

Avoid abbreviations like BS IT, BS CS, BS Management or UST UP DLSU or any other abbreviations

Don't mention your lovelife and hobby or things that are not related to your job application (pag tinanong, sagutin mo na lang)

    Work experience keywords:
    • Previous Job Position
    • Name of the Company - you can also mention the nature of the company
    • For example, is it a BPO, Retail, Sales, etc.
    • Inclusive Dates (if you don't remember the exact date. Just mention the month and the year)
    • Job Description - your duties and responsibilities
      example:
"I used to work for DISH account < your scope of work>"
"I used to work as a Data Encoder for XYZ Real Estate <duties and responsibilities>"
    • Reason why you quit your previous job - avoid negative answer like the salary is too low, my supervisor blah blah blah, the management blah blah blah.

    Why Call Center?

BOOM! Bakit Call Center?

Parang AWA nyo na AVOID these answer:
    • "Because I want to improve my English Communication Skills"
Kaya ka nga nag apply ng call center agent di ba kasi alam mo na marunong ka when it comes to English communication skills. Basic qualification yan.
    • "I need to support my family"

Wag nyo sasabihin yan.

    3 keywords:
    • Career
    • Benefits
    • Pay

Career - career growth or development. Like, from agent to team leader.
Benefits - night differential, HMO, Insurance, performance bonus, attendance bonus
Pay - kung icocompare mo sa ibang trabaho, they offer above basic salary. Pag may night differential pa, tataas sweldo mo.

Bigyan nyo ng impact yung CAREER, like "I want to work in a position where I can experience career growth <give examples>"

    Why you choose this company

"My friend used to work here. She told me a lot of good things about this company. BOLA BOLA PORTION, this company offers a great compensation and benefits to its employees and most especially for career growth. They also have a good training program blah blah blah blah."

    Dirty answer but it works.

How do you see yourself 5 to 10 years from now?

Mali pala yun.
Wag kayo sasagot na related sa personal life nyo. It's all about work. Sabihin niyo na you are in a position where I can lead a team. Like, Team Leader or Manager.

Wag exaggerate ah like, CEO, PRESIDENT, etc.

    What is your greatest weakness?

May formula diyan, WEAKNESS + ACTION = ANSWER

    Turn BAD into GOOD

Nag search ako ng good answer:
"I like to make sure that my work is perfect, so I tend to perhaps spend a little too much time checking it. However, I've come to a good balance by setting up a system to ensure everything is done correctly the first time."

    Avoid TOO negative weakness:
    Lazy
    Not Punctual
    Likes to Gossip
WORKAHOLIC < ------ promise, may negative impact yan. hehe.

    What is Call Center/BPO?

Business process outsourcing (BPO) is a subset of outsourcing that involves the contracting of the operations and responsibilities of specific business functions (or processes) to a third-party service provider.

    Source: wikipedia

wag nyo imemorize word by word

    Just remember these keywords:
    • outsourcing
    • contracting the operations
    • business functions
    • 3rd party service provider

Ah, well keep your fingers crossed then. Yep daming chicks talaga sa ADP. =)

    Sir Seven

Speaking of Miel, I met her today and she thanked me for sending over a LOT of applicants. I started referring people since my batch and the batch after mine needed more analysts.

Unfortunately, she said, although many were quite impressive, and had good comm skills, they often got rejected due to their "tenure" in their previous companies.

So what's the deal with tenure Sir Seven? How important is tenure to a recruiter? Does it really affect an applicant's chances in getting hired?

Most recruiters check your tenure in a company, checking for behavioral pattern which might suggest that the employee is unstable. We normally reject applicants who displays more than 2 or 3 companies in a span of two years.

    What motivates you?

What are the things that you keeps you motivated at work?

The key here is to give work-related answer.

    Formula:

Previous Work Experience ---> Give Example -----> Result

    Sample answer from monster/career-advice:
"In my previous job, I worked directly with customers and their problems. What I liked was solving problems and helping people. Sometimes it took a lot of effort on my part, but it was very rewarding when the customer appreciated the service."

Paano pag wala ka work experience?

Sabihin mo OJT mo... mention what company and what kind of position,. sabihin mo na na-motivate ka nung nagbigay ng compliment ang boss mo or supervisor mo about sa task na natapos mo. describe what kind of task or work. like, encoding some data or taking notes for every call na narerecieve mo.

    Things to avoid:

High salary or good benefits from your previous work experience
Syempre, you will give example from your previous work experience. what if sabihin sayo ng interviewer na although meron silang good benefits and salary hindi nila kaya tapatan yung rate ng previous work mo. mamomotivate ka pa ba?

In other words, sa question na yan. Wag kayo magsasabi tungkol sa salary, compensation and benefits.

Keep it low lang. May experience ka man o wala.

Try speaking in English sa floor or at the premises of your office, take EOP a bit seriously, I know a lot of times when we are not on the phone and chatting with our teammates or friends we speak in Tagalog. The more maging comfortable ka in speaking English mawawala na unti unti yung stutter. If you speak English not just when you're on the phone, mappractice din yung brain mo to process and think in English I guess. That's why we stutter sometimes, we tend to think in our native language (Tagalog) then we think on translating it in English, hence may delay tayo in response and we start to stumble with our words. That's just my personal interpretation ha.
