Mazda CX-5 or Sportage or Tucson

It probably is just me. But I feel the new Mazda CX-5 (and Mazda 3 too) are overprized.

With a P374,000 price difference between the CX-5 and the Tucson,
I would rather get the Tucson and buy new set of mags and tires, and/or other accessories too like fogs and a better sound system.

Let's not forget, the Sportage is a looker too.

If you were to choose between the Mazda CX-5 2WD 6MT,
Kia Sportage EX 2WD 6AT, and the Tucson GL 2WD 5MT,
    which would it be?

    Below are the basic specs:

CX-5 I guess. I'm interested with their SkyActiv and I like how it looks(though imo the best looking 'small' suv is forester XT. It's all subjective). But of course depende parin sa budget mo yan. I'm biased against Korean cars but note that I said biased. It'll take a few more years before Korean cars can convince me that they are as reliable as Jap cars.

If I was to choose though, I'd wait a few more months malay natin kasi lemon yung mga lalabas na CX5 dito. Isama mo rin ang ASX dyan, ok din yun.

mazda- asian version ng ford, they share the same engines, chasis etc. look for the FoMoCo (ford motor co.) label stamped in different parts of a mazda vehicle, ex. oil dipstick, brake calipers, atf filter, window assembly etc. sky aktiv based on ecoboost engine

The sportage and Tucson are one and the same. Kia is owned by Hyundai, they share the same platform

i like the looks of the cx5 eversince. pero kung ganyan presyo, dun nako sa tucson na revgt engine mas mura pa kesa cx5, practical pa at mas malakas pa. =)

BTW thanks for providing the image!

dun sa nabasa ko somewhere sa internet, yung cx-5 will replace the cx-7 and kasing laki lang silang dalawa.

CBU from japan kasi yung cx-5 eh.

To make the choices more interesting, I've included the Mitsu ASX as requested, the new Subaru XV and the Forester, the new CRV, the Xtrail and the RAV4.

I agree, the CX-5 looks indeed like a must-have, but skyactive or not is just marketing. For me, fuel efficiency for gas engine is a matter of driving habit. Real fuel efficiency is in diesel engines. And the korean's CRDI (in terms of power & torque) have pulled too way ahead of the japs.

Anyways, this is all just bang for the bucks...

Besides its just a jacked up Impreza!

Korean Cars have come a long way, IMO. I'd seriously consideration a Kia Sportage. ANG POGIII!!!! The warranty is 5 years also. Mahirap lang talaga tanggalin and 'made in Korea' mentality.

    My choices...

    Subaru Forester
    Subaru XV
    Mazda CX-5
    Hyundai Tucson
    Kia Sportage

I'm a bit biased with Subaru, since utility vehicle lahat ng choices mo maganda na yung AWD, and dyan magaling ang Subaru.

    Mazda...looks.

Hyundai and Kia naman all-around may points sya from engine, looks and price point. Mas pinili ko nga sya dun sa mga natirang Jap brands.

    i envy your problem,

I'll go for Kia Sportage....I've had it for more than 6 months... I love driving it, no problem so far...its time to change the views..korean cars are getting better than Japan cars in terms of quality, looks, reliability...

gone are the days of cheap Hyundai....

The entry-level variant for the Sportage is now under 1M (988k, to be precise).

which trim of kia sportage did you get, sir?
how is it? must be fully loaded. rear sensor, rear camera, dvd player, lcd? cooler, bluetooth, cruise control? etc... etc...

I agree that the Korean cars have had a lot of improvements through the years. My sister has both the old and new models of the Tucson and they're both good vehicles. From your choices though, I would be the odd one and go for a CR-V.
