Basically, the expectation is bigger for UP grads. The reason for this is that the quality of education given to UP grads is superior to the ones given to alumni of other state-funded schools. Hence, the amount of taxpayers' money spent for UP matters is bigger.

Anyway, no one's mentioning other schools in this thread, much less comparing them with UP, other than you, which basically makes your argument, if there's such, irrelevant.

I think he ought to know all these this early on.

UP BAA grads kaya pinaguusapan dito.. Yun nga eh, based on your reasoning, kung 0.00001% lang ng tax ang contributionmo sa BIR, wala kang right na mag-expect ng services from the government. immaterial ka kasi eh from the standpoint of the government. I wonder at which level of contribution ka pwedeng mag-expect ng services from the government.

Explain it then.

Hindi naman talaga ito obligatory because it is not being imposed by UP but morality-wise, we should remember how our quality education is being funded by the people.

I admire those UP grads who, even though they grew up poor (and thus, have more reasons to dream becoming ultra rich), still try to contribute to the development and welfare of the society. I think if we're going to use the "utang na loob" custom that is so ingrained in our culture, our nation should be its foremost beneficiary.

Luma na ang capitalistic point of view. Lots of countries are now gearing towards socialism. Oo nga, ang bawat isa sa ati'y hindi naman gobyerno and, hence, that doesn't apply to us as private individuals. Pero, hindi ba "sovereignty emanates from the people"?

TS,if ever you'll make it and graduate from UP,sana naman magstay ka muna at magtrabaho dito sa pilipinas ng mga ilang taon bago ka lumayas papuntang abroad. Kawawa naman ang pilipinas. Totoo nga yung brain drain. Yung magagaling umaalis tapos yung naiiwan ay yung latak or yung walang kakayahang mag abroad.

Sana naman pati yung mga nag abroad eh bumalik sa pinas after some years.

nope. you're clearly attacking a straw man.

of course you have the right to expect quality services from the government. duh. pero dahil gutom ako ngayon, i'd rather eat na lang than explain something to a troll na mukhang kahit ano'ng gawin ko'y hindi naman sasang-ayon sa mga pinagsasabi ko.

  10. #50
^ no you dont, based on your 0.00001% argument. kahit nga access na nga lang sa government sevices eh hindi din pwede.

    Any BAA graduates out there?

  12. #52
Less than 20k makukuha mo.

  13. #53
Anong klaseng firm po ba marerecommend mo senorcarlito?

  14. #54
sorry. gusto ko talagang umepal. mocotillards' and everblues' reaction "struck me" (to quote them).

first of all, we are a democratic country(debating about the merits of a democracy is irrelevant in this discussion),
THAT IS CONSIDERED RUDE IN MANY CULTURES.
karamihan sa mga pilipino talaga, mahilig mangwenta.

second. paying something forward is a person's prerogative.
give, but don't expect to receive, ikanga.
if you really are the politically-correct thinker you think you are, you SHOULD agree with me.

third. don't forget that TAX IS ALSO AN OBLIGATION OF THE TAXPAYER. HINDI YAN FAVOR. IT'S NOT LIKE THEY CAN SAY 'HEY, WALANG PAKINABANG ANG MGA UP GRADS HINDI NA LANG AKO MAGBABAYAD NG TAX.'

i repeat 'TAX IS A RESPONSIBILITY'

fourth. everyone reserves the right to decide for himself(in this instance, his future), and kahit selfish reasons pa yan, wala tayong magagawa.
what if i have ten children to send to school? am i going to prioritize 'bayan' over 'family'? lets be realistic, since this idealism is misplaced. i love the philippines and all, but i also love my luxuries. i have a right to my luxuries. and, serving the people does not have to mean working in a government office or spearheading some charity.
simply showing excellence in one's field, locally, or abroad, is a great service in its own.

Filipino's need to think deeper into their idealisms. They need to think more! please, KABABAYANS THINK DEEPER!

again, it is rude to point out to somebody na may 'utang' siya.

i'm not going to hold myself back because of this imaginary and misplaced 'utang na loob'.

the concept of 'utang na loob' does not exist in this context because AGAIN, tax is an obligation, not a favor. for the retards who still need intellectual direction, let me make it clear. 'utang na loob' is for favors, and paying tax is not a favor, it is a responsibility, an obligation, a part of the constitution, the mother of all laws that govern our land.

THINK CRITICALLY FELLOW FILIPINOS! I BEG YOU!

sorry for being off-topic, but i just had to say something about the 'UP students-owe-the-filipino-people' and 'tax-is-a-favor-to-the-government' arguments. it really peeves me.

It's okay, I for one enjoy reading most of the comments found in this thread hehe.

Depends. If you want Audit, go with SGV. I think they give the best training. Oh, but if you want to Audit banks and other financial institutions, I recommend KPMG. They have a separate department (division, or whatever) that handles Audit of banking and financial institutions. Just recently, they were able to obtain HSBC as an audit client. O dba?

If you want tax or advisory, then consider other firms. I heard P&A is good in tax? Not sure. PwC or deloitte in advisory? Not sure also. Haha

  18. #58
If you really want hardcore consulting/advisory, try MMG, FTI consulting, Credit Suisse, McKinsey.

    Tawag dyan HYPOCRITES!
