Kim Chiu Says That Working With Vilma Santos Helped Her Become A Better Actress

During her guesting on ABS-CBN’s The Buzz last July 1, 2012, Kim Chiu expressed how happy and thankful she is to be a part of Star Cinema’s newest movie, The Healing. The young actress also said that she was flattered when she found out that she was handpicked by Batangas Governor Vilma Santos to be her co-star in the movie.

According to Kim she didn’t feel intimidated by the Star For All Seasons at all. In fact she found her approachable, reachable and down to earth “Minsan sa set namin pag nag-si-set up, nagkukuwentuhan,” she shared. “Walang wall, parang kahit sino pwedeng kumausap sa kanya. Ang pleasant-pleasant niya, parang hindi siya gagawa ng kasalanan. Pwede mong ikuwento lahat, mahihiya ka na lang sa sobrang bait niya. Minsan niyayaya niya ko, ‘Halika, pumasok ka sa dressing room ko.’ Nahihiya akong pumasok,” Kim shared with a laugh.



Kim also expressed how thankful she is to Governor Vi for helping her with her heavy scenes. “Meron kaming maseselang eksena. Sabi n’ya, ‘Huwag mong sasayangin ang eksena. Ibigay mo na, ito minsan lang mangyari ito. Minsan lang ang eksena na mangyari ito. So para hindi siya masayang mino-motivate niya ako. ‘Huwag mong isipin na ako si Ate Vi.'”



Kim shared that working with a great team led by her director in the movie, award-winning filmmaker like Chito Roño, inspired her to be more professional, and to do her best at all times. “Kapag nasa set kami sobrang professional. Nahihiya na lang ako. Pagdating ko ng set, dapat kabisado ko na ang linya ko, dapat prepared na ako kasi katrabaho ko si Direk Chito Roño and ‘yung buong team niya, plus Gov. Vilma pa. Syempre mahiya ka na lang kapag di mo pa kabisado ang linya mo.”

The Healing opens July 25 in theaters nationwide. The movie also marks the 50th showbiz anniversary of the Star For All Seasons.
