    How viable are internet cafes as a business in this day and age?

    Unlike in the last decade, we now have:

    * Cheap laptops
    * Cheap broadband
    * Wi-fi everywhere
    * Broadband internet on cellphones
    * A computer in every middle class home

    So considering all this, is starting an internet cafe business still viable nowadays? Is there anything that internet cafes can potentially offer that isn't yet available elsewhere?

    Thanks in advance for your comments.

    Yes, I think it's still viable. With the right business plan. Hindi lang naman sa pc rent nakakabawi but sa mga other services like printing, food etc. Ako gusto ko magtayo shop kaso malaki kailangan puhunan. Minimum of 150-180k sa PC palang wala pa sa pwesto.

    Personally, I don't think so. Sure, pwede mo sabihin na depende sa location. Pero kung maganda location mo, for sure madami competition. This means price war.

    Tapos lagi pa nilolooban mga internet cafes.

    I don't think it's still that profitable. subsonicsky is absolutely correct, access to internet is way cheaper and so easy these days compare before.

    I think you've got to have an edge to survive. You've got to have that special something otherwise if wouldn't be worth the investment.

    =)

    ^The problem is, gagayahin ka lang ng competitors mo once they found out na you have that "special something" na kumikita ka.

    tama po kayo at dahil dyan Internet cafe must upgrade their product and services para makasurvive, indeed nasa sunset industry na internet cafe kahit magsurvey kayo mahina talaga kahit netopia nga nagbasak presyo e....

    sa dami ba nmn personal gadgets wifi nowadays, libre pa signal kahit saan free apps pa at najajailbreak pa! kokonti **** mga nagrerent ng pc...

    pero dnt worry meron din mga online business pwede idagdag sa internet cafe, and this is my proposal paki download nlng po. Maraming salamat po!

    I agree, I used to own 4 internet cafes. Now 1 nalang ang operational. All of my loyal customers started to avail their own internet plan at home kaya slowly but surely bumabagsak na industriya na kina lakihan ko. I was in this industry for 6 years na, and i would say possible parin kumita but the glorious days of internet cafes will soon end. I still have a few computers left with me like 20 units, then may 10 pang operational. I have lots of ideas where to use this but lacks partners to pursue the plan.

    I have a KOREAN online sub station na. I hire employees, then may cut ako monthly s kanila. Pero grveng higpit nong Korean Client. 2 out of 20 applicants lang ang pina pasa. Mdyo barat pa mag pa sweldo *** walang nag tatagal na employee. Pag wala akong employee, *** rin akong cut. I want to try sana Webcam Modeling Studio, kaso wala pakong clients. If meron sa inyo interested to do business with me pls email me at: smartbroke@gmail.com

    Thanxs guys, and good luck to all of us.
