Good premed - UP Diliman Psych. Maraming psych majors ang nakakapasok agad sa UPCM after grad.
If you're aiming for UPCM, get into a UP university.
Ano Po Kaya Magandang Pre Med Sa UP Manila? Malayo Po Kasi Diliman Sa Amin. Super Lapit Lang Po Namin Sa UP Manila![]()
I'm from Diliman eh. Pero eto I guess and magandang premed sa UPM (although note na wala akong masyadong alam sa degree programs ng UPM).
- Pharma
- Public Health
- Nursing
Ahhh Ganun Po Ba. Pagka Po Ba Gusto Ko Pong Mag Medicine Kailangan Po Ba Mag INTARMED Ako? Or Maski Hindi Na?
So kung ayaw mo na ng paligoy-ligoy pa sa undergrad na pre-med, I guess it's the most efficient way to be a doctor. Pero note that it has limited slots and is very competitive. So I guess the next best thing if you don't pass Intarmed is to go the usual route of Pre-Med then Med proper.
But mind you, mahigpit talaga yung competition sa Intarmed (dito madalas yung mga Oblation scholars ng Manila), so prepare yourself for the premed courses.
I have many schoolmates in Pisay who passed the Intarmed and many more via UPCM. They are the ones who are intelluctual giants, persistent and very dedicated in getting the highest possible grade attainable way back in Pisay.
The easier but a longer route would be taking up a premed undergraduate degree program. Get a nmat percentile score of 95% or higher and near laude GWA or better. That would be very difficult if you are in UP but don't worry since UPCM will take account of that.
You can get in via Intarmed but very highly unlikely since they only accept about 100 out of 3k applicants.
Btw, you English RGEP professor will end your MD dreams if you keep pressing caps lock.)
Intarmed will get you a BS Basic Medical Sciences title after 2 years, tapos you continue to the Doctor of Medicine program for 4 years, 1 year internship.
UP Nursing kasi ako, at dyuskooo pahirapan sa grades kasi. Kelangan mo rin kasi i-take into account yun, yung pagbibigay ng grades ng isang college. I know it's quite.. um.. not good, pero let's face reality:
And some of those will come from colleges that will rain "unos"... Some say that BS Psych and BS Bio are one of those colleges, perooo don't take my word for it. >_<
PERO kung gusto mo talaga mag-stick sa ideals and principles, then just take WHAT EVER course you like! Basta yung alam mong passion mo rin! And not just a "bridge" to get into UPCM.
And in the long run, malay mo... mawala ang drive mo to continue medicine (haha, like me. ang tagal eh). You can't tell now, pero after 4 years or more, may possibility kasi na mag-iba talaga ang tingin mo sa gusto mong gawin ng pangmatagalan. Better work doing something you like di ba?
Remember pala na being a Doctor of Medicine will entail life-long education and almost life-long working na rin. Basic education for Medicine is 4 years, then 1 year internship tas boards. After nyan syempre walang wala ka pa, so syempre mag residency ka tas fellowship.... Dapat alam mong pinapasukan mo. Hehe.
^Totally agree.
Dream kong mag aral sa UP!![]()

By the way, high school ka na ba?
Eh baka kasi tungkol sa makikinig sya sa payo namin dito![]()
Good luck! Basta sa future pagsilbihan ang bayan, kahit ba in an indirect way! We all need good health professionals, kahit saang school ka pa grumaduate. Haha.![]()
I heard pwede ka ring magtake nung Med Tech board exam kung graduate ka ng BS Public Health sa UP Manila. I'm not sure kung gano karami sa kanila ang nakakausad to UPCM.
