that's SyFy's response? that even inflames me more! time restrictions, my foot! what they did just spells one word: BIGOTRY! yun lang at wala ng iba. it's just a simple hand on arm gesture they edited, not wall sexing scenes! that makes it even more insulting to mature viewers! that simple scene conveys a lot of emotions between B/L, and what's worse they even revised the dialogue, WTF! it will definitely affect the character development of the two characters, AS and ZP are very good pa naman in these scenes, and it's all wasted because someone on the editing room felt uncomfortable and decided to just snipped the film and connect the scenes! siguro inaalam ng nung mga ranters kung sino editor/s na to. hahaha

if they only bought the 13 epis, then good for us. let Showcase sell it to other networks. for sure HBO or Showtime are aware of the show's popularity by now. if 'tweaking' scenes are inluded in the contract, then we can say Showcase is partly to blame on this. para lang mga air sila sa US they sacrificed the show's integrity, for what, an attempt to penetrate the US' much bigger audience? and fatten the producers' wallets and oversized egos? how very noble of them naman! hahaha

then US viewers has no other choice but to switch to other alternatives in watching the show (internet, DVD) to be able to really experience LG. if the ratings drops because of this 'unnecessary editing' kuno, then those ranters effectively conveyed their distaste sa SyFy. these ******** will have a dose of their own medicine so to speak. boycotting the show because of discontent from loyal viewers is not far behind. SyFy can lose this one, i tell you.

you're right, t's not only Doccubus being short-changed here, they are screwing Kenzi's character, too! what's next, lessen the show's airtime to accomodate those stupid ads! on second thought, they already doing that.

it's puzzling indeed, they practically unedited the entire season 1, even those intimates scenes in 1.08, how come they are sharpening their scissors now sa season 2? baka naman one exec of SyFy was an asshat homophobe kaya he/she requested the shows execs to 'trim down' the same-sex scenes, ke arm rub pa yan or whatever. i'm sure there's a legit reason for this, why all too suddenly the show was sanitized.

cHaRiSsE_AnN, I think it's best to hang on and just see for yourself. I, for one, do not wish to spoil or ruin the fun and surprises lying ahead for you. I just think it's totally worth it to watch the show. Hope you have fun watching the next episodes. And mielle, I think your rant was pretty understandable naman eh. In fact, I think Syfy just added fuel to the fire when they made their silly excuse. They should have just stayed quiet and addressed the fans' concerns on their own or instead, just created a more plausible excuse to appease the fans. I hope they learnt their lesson na. But basing on the network people's ignorant and dismissive tweets to the fans, it seems that they still don't want to own up to their mistakes and are still ignoring the concerns of their viewers. Tsk tsk tsk.

People have been asking about the US cuts of #LostGirl, most recently episode 203, and we just wanted to clear up any confusion. These cuts were made by Lost Girl, in house, in order to satisfy the shorter broadcast length in the US. The edits were done for timing and not content.

^As for the comments, I'd like to share this awesome comment from one of the show's fans. I think it was spot-on.

Manuela Quadros: I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. The show is being edited for content because voice overs are being used to replace curse words - "sh!t" replaced by "junk" being an example. That has nothing to do with timing, as you are replacing one word by another. It doesn't matter that the cuts were made by Showcase. They were still made because of Syfy's "differing standards", therefore clearly Syfy is to blame here. And the show is being edited for content. Some of Kenzi's wittiness was no longer there -- "Dribbles of virgin blood? Eyeball dumplings?" was cut from 2.03. And yes, part of a Bo/Lauren scene was cut as well, the exact moment where Lauren is caressing Bo's arm. Showcase and Syfy can twist it anyway they want, but that is censorship and those cuts are not done for timing because there is evidence proving otherwise.

^I agree with her completely. Not to mention that season 1 was left untouched making their time restraint excuse less believable. I guess they're never gonna admit their mistakes nor admit their real reasons for making cuts and edits.

Anyway, I pity the US fans now, they're being deprived of the awesomeness of LG. I heard that the show will be aired up to 2.13 only. Parang ala ng Plano ang SyFy to buy the othe half of the season. With this recent censorship incident, for sure they're royally pissed, too. Well, di lang **** sila ang cable channel, there's still HBO and Showtime to entice to. I hope the show's producers approach these two. Kaya lang masyado yatang mataas standard nils baka di mkapasa LG. What with those sloppy writing in some season 2 episodes, plagay ko mhihirapan sila to market the show to these established channels. Agree din me dun sa poster. Di lang natin sure if the powers that be will be affected. They obviously didn't give a crap that their beloved show was chopped to cater for US audience 'family-friendly' requirement. It's all about the money. That's were they thinking now. So sad, I guess there goes season 3 then, a sanitized, de-gayed, de-blipped dialogue LG. Sucks to be an LG fan sometimes, there's too much drama from us fans to those behind the scenes. Hay!

^Yeah, I watched a clip of that on Youtube nga recently eh. Too bad Ksenia, Kris, and Zoie weren't included for some reason. I would have loved to see them there. By the way, this isn't exactly new but Zoie also won recently as Best Actress at the 2012 Bare Bones Film Festival for her work in the thriller film called Cold Blooded. I think it was really intentional that they made the host and judges on Top Chef Canada look or appear rigid on screen so that it'll give the deliberation scenes a suspenseful and dramatic feel to them. Anyway, this just in. I just discovered that Zoie will also be a guest star on Flashpoint, a Canadian police drama television series, soon. By the way, she's also casted for the film Sex After Kids, but I still don't know much details about its filming.

well, that's nice to hear. at least our girl is branching out on other projects then and not let LG tied her down entirely. heard that SAK gig of her's, too. is that an adult comedy? i bet she will be the center of attraction on that show, the moment it was aired on TV.

what worries me though if she has these projects in the wings, that this mean we might be seeing less of Lauren again in season 3? considering her screentime in the two previous seasons. where she averaged 2 to 5 mins. max. based on the tweets we've been getting from LG blogs, lately she's with the team filming since 3.01 was shot. although, read this a while ago that both her and AS had their day-off today. hmmm, methinks that their last scenes together really took a toll on them physically, hope what they shot was the 'dream scene' we fans been wishing for. hehehe pervy me!

still being optimistic here, i still think that LG will be better this season 3. they've already established it like sort of a 'cult' show. wherein the fandom was emotionally invested in it and consider it as 'routine' in their daily lives. i used to be like that during the X-Files days. making sure not to missed an episode, even bribing my elder sister to taped it if ever di pa ako dumarating from work. ahh, those were the days.

^Sex After Kids is not a TV show if I'm not mistaken. It's an ensemble romantic comedy film about the lives of a group of ladies. I read somewhere about Zoie's role but I forgot the details about it. I just remember that when I read about it, I thought that she has one of the craziest and most exciting roles in the cast.

According to an interview with Jeremy Lalonde, the writer/director of Sex After Kids, "it’s an ensemble film, so there’s more-or-less an equal weight to each of the five stories. However, based on my initial shooting schedule, Zoie has the most days of anyone in the cast. So that should tell you something about the size of her role… or maybe I just like having her around…"

But I think there's nothing for us LG fans to worry about at the time being, since I've also read somewhere that SAK will be filming on weekends so it would hardly impact the shooting of LG. And besides, even LG has its mini breaks so Zoie can still do a lot of other projects while being on the show. As for the fanbase, I think it's getting bigger but I don't think it's really big BIG as compared to other fandoms since the show is just starting to garner attention and viewership around the world.

By the way, I just thought of sharing this funny interview with Zoie that I came across recently. I don't know if it's just my sense of humor playing with me but I do think she's really funny. Here's the link to it:

AfterEllen.com reached out to Syfy to find out why the cuts were made in Monday’s episode. Syfy Director Communications Gary Morgenstein replied promptly, saying the cuts were all made for time and made not by Syfy, but the series producers themselves. He replied:

So you know, the scene was cut not by Syfy but by the producers to conform to US running time; the Canadian version runs longer. … None of this had to do with the same sex relationship. In fact, in episode 206, airing on Syfy May 21, there is a rather “hot” scene between Lauren and Bo.

^Well, talk about damage control, eh? This reply made by Syfy implies that the Doccubus sex scene some fans were worrying about will still appear in episode 206. But it doesn't exactly say that edits won't be done to that scene. Anyway, it's guaranteed na naman that every episode will have edits and cuts in order to conform to US running time, or so they say.

yep, read the AfterEllen article of DS. damage control indeed! they might not edit the 'hot' scene as that guy said, what about the dialogues? they can still dubbed it right? to conform to US taste, you know, blipped the swear words and those crass sexual innuendos the characters usually utters (especially Kenzi). they've already did that in 2.03. so what's the guarantee that they won't trim any scenes again? whatever, i guess there's really no point arguing this with them, US fans will have to just accept this lame excuse. frankly, we international fans are not affected by this for we already viewed the entire seasons through legal means (sue me SyFy hehehe). but we Doccubus fans felt slighted in a very big way. limited na nga screentime ni Lauren, icha-chopped pa, where's the justice in that? despite all those endless polls they have been posting in their blogs incessantly, still, they're turning a blind eye on what's in front of them (ZP's immense popularity in the show). they can't blame the fandom to cry foul on this, nag-iisip tuloy yung iba na baka naman they did this para to shove the Bo/Dyson pairing again right down to our throats. hay, naku! luv LG, but to be honest, this is the craziest fandom i've ever been with!

so SAK is a film pala? for sure it can only be shown in Canada? as soon it's available on-line, i will definitely watch it. all for my love for ZP.

As I've mentioned previously, I think it's guaranteed na that there will be edits and cuts to the next US episodes because of supposed time constraints. But taking into consideration Syfy's airing time standards and its need for more commercial advertisement airing time, this excuse still leaves a lot to be explained. That is why fans are in such a rage. Anyway, I don't know if Syfy UK is implementing the same cuts and edits to LG, but for some reasons, I presume they don't.

Yes, there are a lot of speculations about Syfy and Showcase's agenda and one of them is the possibility that they want to make the Bo/Dyson pairing more commercially successful, so that there will be no or less trouble for them to make the couple official sooner or later on the show. But whatever happens, we won't really know until we see things for ourselves. And trust me, there are far crazier fandoms out there than the LG fandom, considering pa that the LG fanbase is still relatively smaller than others.

And SAK will of course be shown in Canada, but if the film becomes quite successful money and critical reception-wise, it can go a long way and appear in different film festivals around the world. They may even sell copies online domestically and internationally.

they can edit all they deemed as offensive as long as it's justifiable (e.g. those racy scenes of Bo/Dyson, Bo/Ryan and all those unnecessary scenes that serves as fillers for the season). as i've read a while ago SyFy UK and Australia aired the episodes as is. it's only US SyFy who did the 'cutting," how ironic.

as of Showcase' goal of 'wanting' BD to be the END GAME of this show, well isn't it obvious? despite Dyson's being useless and over-the-top emo-ing in season 2, they still have him in every episode. even straight people were totally annoyed of his unwanted presence from scene to scene, me included. whenever i see him flashed on my screen, i immediately fast forward it. his character (sorry KHR) doesn't register to me at all. if they keep on doing this to us fans, there will come a time that we will just ignore the show. ratings will drop and worst the show will inevitably come to an end. Showcase can sulk all year round for what they have done. and i won't feel sorry for them.

why do they have to market this show for all sexes, when it's clear as sparkling water that they've already decided the main lead's 'partner?' heck, even KHR is TEAM LAUREN, would you believe? hahaha

they've better re-think this, as i've said in my previous posts, i will ditch this show! and Bo and Dyson can marry and have 10 puppies and bicker all through the nth season. hahaha

so what's the craziest fandom as of now?

Well, it seems like you really hate the Dyson character huh? And probably Ryan too. But I actually feel the opposite. I liked them most of the time, especially when they're not messing up Bo's character development. And I don't mind that they have their issues too because there's no such thing as a perfect character naman eh. Besides, I also think Dyson's character really has a lot of potential. They can still do a lot with the character like utilizing him for awesome purposes, making him more interesting, and making his character grow along with the others. And I don't think he was completely useless in season 2, even though his character was a bit tainted and became self-loathing for the most part of that season.

And Dyson was absent in some of the episodes too. The same goes for Lauren and Kenzi. That is why I'm hoping nga that they'll find a way to kinda balance the screen time of each character in season 3 eh. And personally, I just wish the show all the best because the show really has a lot of potential. They just need to work with it wisely.

Also, I think it was obvious in the beginning pa lang that they were going for the Dybo pairing na eh. They just didn't expect the phenomenon that was Doccubus. And if they ever make any pairing "endgame", there will always be a ship that will get hurt or upset. They can't please everyone and certainly not every ship out there. And as for your question, I think each fandom has its crazies naman eh, but usually, the bigger a fandom is, the crazier. And when I say crazy, it can be both a good and a bad thing naman eh. I've been a part of a lot of fandoms na but this is just my two cents, of course.

you're right wolfy has a lot of character potential, but wouldn't you think that KHR's peformance also fell short in portraying Dyson's nuances? i mean. he's supposed to be the second lead of the show, but as the show's progress, Kenzi outshines him by a mile! sort of blaming the LG's writing pool in some press, saying he was not given a solid material or whatever to really fleshed-out Dyson's character. sour-graping much? in fact i was hoping for him to resign from the show para matapos na pagsesentimyento niya. hahaha but come to think of if, KHR seems to be nice in person, he seems like ZP's male counterpart in personality. i read from other blogs that he jokes around, too. pero ZP ata was the 'lead joker' on the set. gosh! she can be disarming really?

well, we are crazy sometimes! that are fans are made of. hehehe a show will not be successful without us doin' our 'crazy stuff' right? they owe us huge! by that we can at least demand from them to give us something that will inspire us, make us laugh and cry, something for us to b*&ch about.
