well in some ways oo pero in some ways tama lang. arboleda looks weird wearing the barako bull colors kahit alam natin na ka-lineage ng air21 ang bb. also it's not the first time na nangyari ito. during pre-caguioa ginebra, yves dignadice was acquired by the kings after the beermen chose not to re-sign their long-time star.

besides, teams can still offer a contract to arboleda. yun lang, we all know na deadset na siya sa a21.

and it's not like ito ay isang typical lina trade na pag maganda ginawa ibibigay sa ibang mayaman na teams.

as for the Jazul-Salamat trade: finally, Alaska has a legit back-up PG (kahit combo guard si Jazul) to relieve LA on the bench. para naman hindi si Bon-bon ang reliever ni LA as PG. Nice acquisition by both Alaska and Air21.

Hindi naman siguro ayaw ni arboleda, pwede ding management decision. Wala kasing pinapatunguhan ang air21, at dun naman originally si arboleda.

Yung 5 days na pwedeng mag-offer ang ibang team i think desisyon pa rin ni wynne kung tatanggapin nya. So kung buo na loob nya sa air21, malamang dun nga sya.

Air 21 is 100% owned by Bert Lina, Arboleda's father-in-law. Barako Bull is partly owned by Lina, the other part owned by George Chua. And if rumors are to be believed, Barako's team payroll is funded by one of the biggest conglomerates in the Philippines.

Hence, it's only logical for Arboleda to play for the team of his father-in-law. And to ensure that his transfer would be smooth and trouble-free, Barako decided to release him unconditionally. Don't be surprised if no team would express interest in acquiring Arboleda, even if he remains to be a very competent player. Reason? Why get him when his heart is with Air 21?

If a team expresses interest in Arboleda's services but the latter doesn't want to play there, he CANNOT suit up for Air 21, being a sister team of Barako. He becomes a restricted free agent owned by the team that would want to acquire him.

I doubt this would happen though. Before Barako released Arboleda to free agency, I'm almost sure the team managers already made a deal with each other that no team will get his services other than Air 21. It's a small request from a team that has been more than generous in helping other teams by serving as conduit for sister team trades.
