UAAP CDC and NCC: Is it time to introduce a new category - Freestyle Pom?

UAAP CDC and NCC: Is it time to introduce a new category - Freestyle Pom?

I believe this category would be a hit to the UAAP CDC and NCC fans as well as the cheer/dance squads. For the CDC, this would expand the current format of ‘cheerdance’. For NCC, this could create a pool of talent so Team Pilipinas can send to SEACO 2013 or the next ICU World Cheerleading Championship.

Defined by International Cheer Union (ICU): FREESTYLE POM incorporates the concepts of Jazz and Hip Hop with an emphasis on choreography, proper technical execution, visual effect, creativity, staging and team uniformity. Poms are used for 80-100% of the routine. Important characteristics of this type of routine include synchronization and visual effect, clean and precise motions, strong pom technique, the incorporation of dance technical elements and dance styles. Visual effects include level changes , group work, formation changes, use of different color poms
