magaling ba si EJ Feihl nung amateur days niya? if so bakit nawalan siya ng silbi sa PBA?
Yes, EJ Feihl was pretty impressive as a collegiate player. But then, you expect him to dominate because he was playing against collegiate players as well. Things are different when ranged against the pros. No matter what one says, he's still 7'1 with average lateral moves and has a soft touch inside the paint. So he can still produce the points and the rebounds.
If you compare him with Greg Slaughter today, I say that Slaughter is definitely more polished and has better game. Plus the fact that the plays in college today have become scientific as well brought about by the entry of topnotch coaches like Norman Black, Koy Banal, Ronnie Magsanoc, Glenn Capacio, Franz Pumaren, among many others. Hence, for Slaughter to produce points, it's actually more impressive to look at this when the defense has become more sophisticated.
i agree with jpm. say what you will about feihl pero may mga moments na handy ang size niya. sabihin na natin na talagang nawala ang offense niya, at least 7'1 pa rin siya. lalo na ngayon na walang illegal defense, e di kahit mag stay put lang siya sa ilalim at iwagayway ang kamay. tim cone used him as such sa alaska and in some ways din noong nasa purefoods siya.
