Kathryn Bernardo Thankful for the Success of Princess and I

Kathryn Bernardo is thankful for the unrelenting warm support of TV viewers for ABS-CBN’s ‘royal drama,’ “Princess and I.”
“I am grateful that we have consistent high TV ratings and now it’s even getting higher. So I really hope that the viewers continue to follow the adventures of Mikay every night because we are all doing our best to make it much better,” shared Kathryn.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media, the trending and top-rating drama series topbilled by the ‘primetime princess’ Kathryn together with its powerhouse cast Albert Martinez, Gretchen Barretto, Precious Lara Quigaman, Dominic Ochoa, Enrique Gil, Daniel Padilla, and Khalil Ramos gained a national TV rating of 31.7%, or almost 15 points higher than the 16.8% national TV rating garnered by its rival program in GMA, “Biritera.”

Kathryn dedicated the success of their show to its first-of-its-kind story and the commitment of their team. She said, “Aside from the fact that our story is very light with a touch of drama which Pinoys love; one of ‘Princess and I’s big success factors is the great working relationship of the team especially with our directors, Dado Lumibao and Francis Pasion, because they closely monitor our characters, ensuring we execute it right.”

With Kathryn’s show shining in the Primetime Bida block of ABS-CBN, viewers cannot help but compare her with ‘Mara Clara’ co-lead star Julia Montes, who is currently one of the lead stars of another Kapamilya top-rating primetime teleserye, “Walang Hanggan.”

“Julia is really like a sister to me, so there was never a time that competition became an issue to us,” said Kathryn. “I’m super proud of her because I know very well that their show is doing great too in the ratings. Actually, I’m a fan of ‘Walang Hanggan.”

Meanwhile, along with her hardships to get her father (Dominic)out of prison, Mikay’s (Kathryn) heart will be put to test too with the coming of three ‘princes’ in her life. Who will win Mikay’s love–his bestfriend Kiko (Khalil) who just confessed his love for her; Jao (Enrique) who visits the Philippines to look for himself and for the girl who took his heart; or ‘bad boy’ Gino (Daniel) who irritates Mikay at every encounter?

Ella Cruz shares how happy she is with the high ratings of ‘Aryana’ on its first week

As the lead in Primetime Bida’s newest fantaserye Aryana, Ella Cruz admitted she was relieved with the feedback of the show during its first week run. “Siyempre kinabahan din ako dahil hindi namin alam kasi yung magiging feedback, at yung magiging ratings. Pero nung nakita ko na, sobrang saya ko kasi halos lahat positive tapos ang taas pa ng ratings so talagang super thankful at super blessed ang feeling ko,” she said.

The 15-year-old actress said she still feels overwhelmed by the fact she’s playing her first lead role in a major production. “Sobrang saya ko kasi nung una, nung bata pa lang ako hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. Nung ako na yung pinakita na lumaki na si Aryana, sabi ko, ‘Hala heto na ito, lumabas na talaga.’ Dream come true na talaga. Sobrang saya ko,” she admitted to Push.com.ph.

Ella said that fans of the show can expect the story to become even more exciting within the coming weeks. “Mas magiging exciting panuorin kasi parating na si Aryana sa mga signs na magiging mermaid na siya so makikita na rin niya yung tatay niya so magiging heavy na ang story ni Aryana. Mararanasan na niya yung mga iyakan, yung rejections, lalo na ngayon na magsu-school na siya at marami ng magbu-bully sa kanya. Marami kayong aabangan dahil magsa-start na high school life ni Aryana so mararanasan niya yung mga nararanasan natin sa school, yung mga crushes, enemies, may bullies, lahat. Kailangan yun masaksihan ng lahat dahil kakaibang pagbu-bully ang gagawin ni Megan kay Aryana,” she added.

The Aryana star also revealed that she and Paul Salas will also be having more “kilig” scenes in the series, as well as the introduction of a third party. “Meron na kaming na-shoot. Na-start na yung mga kilig-kilig scenes namin. Dapat nilang hintayin yung iba pang mas kilig scenes at dapat pa nilang abangan yung isa pang lalaki na darating sa buhay ni Aryana. Kung sino ito at kung ano ang mararamdaman ni Aryana sa kanya. Si Hubert yun. Yung guy na magiging ka-klase ni Aryana sa school. Kasi di ba hindi magka-klase si Aryana at si Marlon so si Hubert siya yung sa school,” she explained.

The talented young actress said that she has also gotten used to the busy taping schedule that comes with starring in a teleserye. “Madugo ang taping, lalo na kami naghahabol. Pero nasasanay na naman ako. Parang everyday ganun naman na, sanay na rin ako,” she said.

Ella also shared her message for her online fans and Twitter followers who have been nothing but supportive of her in Aryana. “Gusto ko talaga magpasalamat. Thank you so much sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa Aryana at saka sa akin. Thank you rin dahil kung hindi dahil sa kanila siyempre hindi ko maaabot yung mga pangarap ko. Sana ipagpatuloy nila yung pagsuporta at pagtutok sa Aryana gabi-gabi. Abangan niyo sana ang mga kakaibang eksena pa na ipapakita namin,” she said.

Hindi raw niya maintindihan kung saan nanggagaling ang balitang may pagkasuplada si Marian. Ubod daw ng bait nito sa set at kalog na kalog. Si Barbie pa nga raw ang ninenerbiyos tuwing kaeksena niya si Marian. Bale si Elmo Magalona ang love interest niya sa Tweets for my Sweet.

Paul Salas admits he and Ella Cruz are now closer to each other

Although they started out in the same kiddie talent search on a different network years ago, Paul Salas and Ella Cruz have never been paired together before doing Aryana. In fact, they both admit to having to go through a period of adjustment from playing siblings to possible love team partners in the mermaid fantasy series. “Ngayon mas close na kami sobra. Parang magkapatid na nga yung turing namin sa isa’t isa, hindi na kami nahihiya sa isa’t isa,” he admitted.

Although he is younger than Ella, Paul admitted that it’s not impossible for him to fall for his pretty co-star. “Ang ganda kaya ni Ella (laughs). Oo naman, parang wala naman akong kasing age na nagugustuhan, parang lahat mas matanda,” he revealed to Push.com.ph.

Paul said he feels very blessed to have landed another lead role after doing Oka2kat. “Mixed emotions ako sa Oka2kat. Happy ako kasi successful at nagawa namin ng tama yung show. Malungkot ako kasi mami-miss namin yung mga staff, management tapos yung mga kapwa artista namin. Pero more on masaya naman kasi naging successful nga kami, okay, walang naging problema sa amin,” he said.

The heartthrob-in-the-making said he has lots of unforgettable memories from doing the teen-oriented horror series. “Unforgettable sa akin dun yung mga powers ko, yung mga nangangawit ako, ganyan. Tapos siyempre yung mga kulitan namin nila Makisig (Morales), nila Sue (Anne Ramirez), yun yung hindi mababayarang kasiyahan,” he recalled.

In Aryana, Paul plays the role of Marlon Salvador, close childhood friend of Aryana. Unlike his timid role in Oka2kat, Paul said that Marlon is a more confident guy. “Iba siya. Kabaligtaran ng Oka2kat. Kasi di ba mabigat yung role ko sa Oka2kat, seryoso, laging namomoblema. Dito parang magaan lang, teenage life, parang ako lang din na teenager,” he said.

Paul said that fans of the show can expect to see some sweet scenes between him and Aryana soon. “Abangan nila yung pagtatapat ko na mahal na mahal ko si Aryana, yun ang abangan nila kasi malapit na yun,” he added.

The former child star said he feels blessed to be part of two major projects in the Kapamilya network this year. “Ang saya. Sobrang saya lalo na nung nabalitaan ko na pang-top six kami sa ratings. Yun yung sabi ni daddy kaya siyempre masaya ako kasi after Oka2kat ito na naman. So masaya ako at siyempre nate-tense din kasi Primetime ito. Sa taping hindi naman ako napapagod kasi masaya yung mga kasama ko. masaya kasama si Neil (Coleta), David (Chua), sila Ella at Michelle (Vito) so hindi naman ako napapagod lalo na kapag scenes na namin,” he said.

Paul said he has gotten close with his other cast mates. “Bagong barkada ko ngayon sila David Chua at Neil Coleta. Pinag-uusapan namin kung ano yung mga pick-up lines kay Ella (laughs). Parang gusto nila kami palapitan sa isa’t isa para sweet-sweet-an, ganun (laughs),” he said.

Paul said he is also not bothered with a possible love triangle with Aryana in the series in the form of her classmate Hubert. “Okay lang yun, kuya naman ni Ella yun kaya (laughs). Kuya naman namin yun,” he stressed.

Kathryn Bernardo on Daniel Padilla: ‘Akala n’yo lang mayabang, maangas na playboy’

While Kathryn Bernardo’s pairings with each of her three leading men—Daniel Padilla, Khalil Ramos, and Enrique Gil—in Princess and I have been successful, it is her partnership with Daniel that enjoys the biggest following. The fans of the love team are so enthusiastic that they wish that it partnership will spill over to real life. Many of them were thrilled when Daniel declared in an interview that after the teleserye is done, he will court Kathryn to prove that his feelings for the actress are not just for publicity.

Kathryn was asked for a reaction about Daniel’s declaration and she said, “I think dapat siyang manligaw ‘pag legal age na,” she said. “Ako naman open sa manliligaw pero bata pa eh, enjoy muna.”

The 16-year-old actress shared that she can’t tell if Daniel is already courting her, but said that the actor makes her feel that he cares for her. Kathryn explained, “Siya siguro kino-consider niya ako as a very special friend, napi-feel ko naman very caring siya, gentleman. Siyempre ‘pag babae ganun, napa-flatter ako kasi may iba na nagki-care sa akin na tao besides sa family ko at friends ko ‘di ba?”

While some of Daniel’s critics dub the actor as “bolero” and “playboy”, Kathryn defended him by saying that others should not be quick to judge Daniel. “Siguro ‘yung pagiging Padilla lang niya [ang nakikita nila]. Pero ‘pag nakilala n’yo po siya in person, kung ano talaga ‘yung character niya, ibang-iba sa akala n’yong mayabang, maangas na playboy.”

When Kathryn was asked how Daniel courts a girl, the actress answered quickly, “Hindi pa naman niya ako nililigawan, paano ko masasagot ‘yan?” If Daniel does court her, would he have a chance to win her heart? “Kung sincere naman po kahit sino may pag-asa,” replied Kathryn.

The former Mara Clara star laughed when asked to react to Daniel’s previous statement that he is willing to marry her at the right time. “Talaga? Let’s see after 20 years. Matagal pa. Joke lang ‘yun ni DJ (Daniel), hindi ‘yan totoo.”

Push.com.ph then asked Kathryn how she is able to deal with the pressure of fans that she and Daniel should end up together. “Hindi naman napi-pressure kasi kilala ko naman si DJ, kino-consider ko siya na best friend kong lalaki. Hindi ako napi-pressure na kailangan kami ang magkatuluyan. Basta ang importante ‘yung ngayon, ‘yung present [at] hindi ‘yung future.”

Kapamilya primetime princess Kathryn Bernardo and singing heartthrob Khalil Ramos are all set for a special out-of-town trip this Sunday (May 27) in Mactan, Cebu.



In the first-ever “Princess and I” Royal Caravan to be held at Gaisano Capital Island Mall at 4pm, Kathryn and Khalil will bond with their Cebuano fans and personally thank them for consistently making their ‘royal teleserye’ one of the country’s most-watched shows.

With the TV ratings success of “Princess and I” and the rise of supporters of ‘Kath-Lil’ (Kathryn-Khalil) love team, the “Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3″ runner-up admitted that everything that has happened with his showbiz career so far still overwhelms him.

Aside from the exciting adventures and family-oriented values taught in the story, “Princess and I”s avid viewers nightly indulge in the cute love story of Kathryn Bernardo’s character Mikay and her three ‘princes’ namely Gino (Daniel Padilla), Jao (Enrique Gil), and Kiko (Khalil). As the young teen leadstars create a fanbase, avid viewers have placed their bets on who they think Kathryn should end up with and created teams such as Team Gino, Team Jao, and Team Kiko.

According to the latest data from Kantar Media, ABS-CBN’s newest fantaserye has reached 19% national TV rating, its highest national TV rating so far, compared to the 11.5% of of its rival program in GMA, “Alice Bungisngis.”

“Aryana”s magical ‘tail’ is off to entice its avid viewers even more with the exciting twists and turns in the lives of the well-loved tween mermaid Aryana (Ella). Now that Aryana’s attention was caught by her new classmate Hubert, played by newest Kapamilya teen star Dom Roque, will she be caught in a love triangle between Dom and her best friend Marlon (Paul Salas)? Nagkakamali lang ba kami sa iniisip na parang may gap sina Barbie Forteza at Bea Binene ng makita namin sa taping ng Tween Hearts? Nag-ugat ang tiyak ide-deny ng dalawa na kanilang gap sa sinabi ni Barbie sa presscon ng Luna Blanca na kahit madalas silang magkasama, hindi pa rin sila close.

“Nagulat ako sa sinabi ni Barbie na ’di kami close, okay naman kami at magkasama na kami sa Dear Friend, sa movies, at dito nga sa Tween Hearts, magkapatid pa kami. Wala kaming bonding pero okay kami. ’Di ko alam bakit niya nasabi ’yun. Hindi ko na siya tinanong kung bakit, kung ’yun ang feeling niya, okay sa akin,” sabi ni Bea.

Nagulat din si Barbie sa naging reaction ni Bea. “Hindi ko alam kung bakit naging isyu ’yun. Sinabi kong ’di kami close pero ’di ko sinabing magkaaway kami.”

Hindi pa nagti-taping ang dalawa para sa Luna Blanca, kung saan sila magkasama. Hopefully, pag-usapan nila ang tungkol dito bago magtapos ang taping ng Tween Hearts at bago sila mag-taping ng Luna Blanca.

SA takbo ng love team ngayon nina Bea Binene at Jake Vargas, mukhang huling pagsasama na nila bilang love team ang “Tween Hearts” at “Alice Bungisngis” ng Kapuso network (GMA7) na malapit nang magpaalam sa ere.

Sa latest project ni Bea sa naturang network, ang “Luna Blanca,” hindi si Jake ang kanyang leading man. Sa ngayon, wala pang bagong project si Jake pero mananatili siya sa “Party Pilipinas” at “Walang Tulugan.”

Si Bea naman, bukod sa “Luna Blanca” ay kasama rin sa “Party Pilipinas” at Good News bilang host.

Mukhang ang nangyayari sa love team nina Bea at Jake ay tulad din nang nangyari kina Barbie Forteza at Joshua Dionisio. Si Barbie ay may bagong ka-love team na sa bagong dramedy program ng GMA7, ang Tweets for my Sweet, na tampok si Marian Rivera, si Elmo Magalona.

Wala ring bagong soap si Joshua sa GMA7, at sinabi nitong balak niyang tapusin muna ang kanyang high school studies.

Samantala, ang “Luna Blanca” ay patuloy na gumagawa ng ingay dahil tampok sa first episode ang dalawang child superstars ng GMA7, sina Jillian Ward at Mona Louise Ray. Two of GMA Network’s talented and lovable child stars – Jillian Warde and Mona Louise Rey – are all set to captivate the hearts of Filipino viewers as they headline the upcoming drama series Luna Blanca.


This Kapuso offering, which is another creation of the Entertainment TV Group, is the first primetime bet of the network for the second quarter of 2012. With an all-star cast and top-notch production values, Luna Blanca will premiere on May 21 replacing Biritera on GMA Telebabad.

Luna Blanca is a multi-generation drama that will feature three generations with a different lineup of actors to topbill each generation’s tale.

Jillian and Mona will lead the cast members of the Luna Blanca’s young generation and their characters in the second generation will be played by teen stars Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene. For the third generation, the adult characters of Luna and Blanca will be portrayed by Heart Evangelista and Bianca King, respectively.

Luna Blanca is a sequel to the Kapuso Network’s previous telefantasya, Luna Mystika.

Daniel Padilla 'Grow Old With You' Music Video Teaser

Princess and I heartthrob and now a certified recording artist Daniel Padilla releases a video teaser for his song Grow Old With You which is included in his debut album "Hinahanap-hanap Kita" under Star Records.

Daniel Padilla's debut album features six tracks including his carrier single Hinahanap-hanap Kita. Completing the tracklist are Pagsubok, Paniwalaan Mo, Prinsesa, Grow Old With You, and the song Ako’y Iyo Ika’y Akin Lamang which Daniel dedicates to his onscreen leading lady Kathryn.

Daniel's album will surely capture the hearts of ‘Danielistas’ and KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel) fans.

Marco Gumabao Will Start College, Quitting Showbiz?

Marco Gumabao, who plays the lead role of the school heartthrob JB, shared that he has noticed some changes after being formally welcomed to showbiz.

“When I go to crowded places, people notice me, it makes me feel like I should be more careful,” he shared. “My friends, Alfred, Vanjo and I went to school by train (MRT) recently, and it isn’t the same anymore.”



Marco feels overwhelmed with the attention he is getting now and is also thankful for the support of the fans. An incoming AB Psychology major at the De La Salle, he really wanted to play professional basketball but instead found himself in the limelight. But amidst this fame and luck, he never thought of quitting his studies. “I am excited for my first day of classes as a college student. Hope that I can cope with my schedules and taping,” he added.

Meanwhile in “LUV U”, JB’s memory will come back and will be persistent to pursue Camille (Miles Ocampo). But the latter underwent five stages of grief after she saw Honey (Arie Reyes) kissing JB. Will there still be a chance for them?

Ella Cruz Tagged as ABS-CBN's Newest Primetime Princess, Doesn't Mind Comparison with Kathryn and Julia

ABS-CBN’s newest primetime princess and “Aryana” lead star Ella Cruz doesn’t mind being compared to her former “Goin’ Bulilit” co–stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, who are now both lead stars to their own Kapamilya teleseryes, “Princess and I” and “Walang Hanggan,” respectively.



“I believe it’s just normal to be compared to them, especially that we are all doing the same thing. I’m open to other people’s comments as long as it will help me become a better actress. And as for Kathryn and Julia, I am really happy for their success and it inspires me a lot,” Ella said.

According to Ella, her show’s consistent high ratings somehow makes her nervous and at the same time more driven to improve on her craft. She said, “I will continue to improve my talent for the avid TV viewers of ‘Aryana.”

Albie Casiño Topbills Cinemalaya Entry 'The Animals'

Controversial actor Albie Casiño is the lead star of the upcoming movie The Animals, one of the entries in the New Breed Full-Length Feature category of the 8th Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Albie Casiño is joined by PBB Teen Clash alumnus Patrick Sugui and Dawn Balagot. Set in an affluent, upper middle class village in the suburbs, The Animals chronicles a day in the life of Jake, Trina, and Alex, who go through the musings that every kid in high school has to deal with.



Also starring Issa Litton, Micah Cabral, Vangie Martelle, John Wayne Sace, Bryan Homecillo, Carlo Cruz and Andrew Felix, The Animals is written and directed by Gino M. Santos and co-written by Jeff Stelton.

A Stained Glass Production in cooperation with Lunar Saints and in association with the Cinemalaya Foundation, The Animals will be shown from July 20-29 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and selected malls in the metro.

Mula nang magsimulang umere ang teleseryeng Aryana ni Ella Cruz ay marami na ang nakakakilala sa dalaga ngayon. Pinagkakaguluhan na rin si Ella kapag pumupunta siya sa mga pampublikong lugar.

“Noong lumalabas po ang teaser ng Aryana, sinasabi, ‘Oy! Si isda me.’ Noong lumabas na po ang Aryana, ‘Oy! Si Aryana! Tara pa-picture tayo!’

“Hindi katulad dati na lagi akong nasa Greenhills, wala pong pumapansin sa akin. Noong pumunta po ako ng Greenhills last Sunday po, talagang grabe po, parang ’di ako pumupunta sa Greenhills before. Nagkakagulo na rin po. Ang saya ng feeling kapag meron kang regular show,” nakangiting kuwento ni Ella.

Ngayon ay napi-pressue na rin si Ella dahil sa ratings ng kanilang serye.

“Siyempre kinakabahan po kami kasi minsan tataas, bababa, parang nakakakaba. Siyempre gusto mong ma-maintain ’yung mataas na ratings kaya kailangang igihan pa, galingan pa,” pagtatapat ng young actress.
