hey guys,
ask ko lang y it seems declining na ang mit wrt sa prc exams passing rate? reasons kaya? tnx!!!
1. The variation of the type exam given by PRC (before it was problem solving type; today it's a multiple-choice exam)
2. Some companies acquire mapuans even they don't have the license (this is because of the legacy that alumni have pondered years ago in the industrial sectors)
3. Students are heterogeneous (not all mapuans will aim to pass the board exam, some of them are contented enough to graduate)
4. The larger the population of takers, the lower the passing rate (though mapua has the most number of registered engineers every year, it boils down to passing rate of the school)
Mapua has implemented exit exams to trim down students. It started with batch 2007--those who will take this year's PRC's exam. They've also standardized the quizzes given by professors and their final exam which is normally given by their respective department. They made some changes in the curriculum so as to challenge more students pass their subjects and maintain better grades. This is expected to produce more competent mapuan graduates and board topnotchers in future licensure examinations.
