Binay-Erap team in talks with NPC, LDP
MANILA, Philippines - Talks are also ongoing with other political parties to join the team forged by Vice President Jejomar Binay’s PDP-Laban and former President Joseph Estrada’s Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino.
Binay’s media officer, Joey Salgado, said there are now discussions with tycoon Danding Cojuangco's Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and Sen. Edgardo Angara's Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP).
Doors are also open for Senator Manuel Villar’s Nacionalista Party, he said.
Salgado, meantime, could not say if there are also talks with the Lakas-Kampi-CMD of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He confirmed in a text message the coalition between PDP and PMP, as relayed by senator Aquilino Pimentel III last night.
When asked who will be on the common ticket, Salgado said, "same names mentioned by Koko last night."
Estrada, for his part, said “matagal na kaming magka-alyado ni VP Binay. In 2007 and 2010, it was [United Opposition]. this time it will be called United Alliance."
