OGIE Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’ baby Nate is now a TV commercial model for Sun Life where he looks so cute and lovable. We heard Nate was paid millions so his future is now secure. Wonder what that Twitter basher who said he’s “pangit” feel now. At least, Nate is already earning millions while still an infant. At the taping of Ogie’s new show with Michael V, “Pare & Pare”, Ogie said Nate is receiving more offers for endorsements but they’re still studying which ones they’d accept. “Ayaw naman naming tanggap lang ng tanggap,” he says.
Ogie is really so busy these days. Aside from TV work, he’s also shooting two new films simultaneously, “I Dobi Doobidoo” with Eugene Domingo and “Boy Pickup The Movie” with Solenn Heussaff. He’s also busy as president of Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit and as head of opm2go, the local version of Itunes where you can download original Filipino songs.
“Pare & Pare” will start airing in May yet but they had advanced tapings as Michael V. is leaving for the States on April 18 for a two-month vacation. What kind of show is “Pare & Pare?” “It’s a combination of musical, talk, variety and comedy show,” says Ogie. “We’ll tackle the hot issues of the day, invite controversial personalities for interview and also feature live musical performances with Mel Villena as our musical director. Our guests sa initial episode are Annabelle Rama and Regine Velasquez. We have various segments like ‘The Week in Review’ where we discuss top stories currently happening, ‘Masa Poll’ where we talk with the man on the street about important issues, ‘Sabi Sabi Po’ about what celebrities post on Twitter and various social media, at marami pang iba.”

Pumirma ng exclusive contract sa GMA 7 ang kanilang mga teleserye director. Matitigil na ang pag-oober da bakod ng mga direktor sa ibang TV stations dahil three years ang kontrata na pinirmahan nila ngayon sa Kapuso Network.
Nabalitaan ko na inalok din ng exclusive contract ang isang kontrobersiyal na direktor pero tumanggi ito. Na-curious tuloy ako na malaman ang pinagdaraanan ng direktor na biglang nawala sa sirkulasyon. Nababaitan pa naman ako sa kanya.

Makakasama rin ni Chef Boy ang kanyang mga celebrity correspondents na umikot sa ilang lugar sa Pilipinas para sa kakaibang food adventure. Nakahanap ng bagong tahanan ang Miss World Philippines sa TV5. Yes, nag-alsa balutan na sila sa GMA 7.
Matapos ang matagumpay na kauna-unahang Miss World Philippines noong nakaraang taon at ang naging 1st Runner-up ni Gwendoline Ruais sa Miss World pageant sa London, England na umere nga sa GMA 7, nakuha na ng TV5 ang rights sa nasabing pageant.
Sa pamumuno ni Cory Quirino, magsisimula nang galugarin ng Miss World Pilippines ang buong bansa para sa susunod na Miss World-Philippines sa pag-asang makamit ang koronang naging mailap para sa atin sa loob ng 61 na taon.
Ngayong taon, ang Miss World Pageant ay gaganapin sa Agosto 16 sa Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, kung saan 113 na mga kandidata mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo ang magtatagisan ng galing para maiuwi ang korona.
Ang Miss World ang pinaka-malaki at pinaka-matandang pageant sa kasaysayan na itinatag pa noong 1951 sa London, England.
Sa Hunyo, ipapalabas ng live sa TV5 ang Miss World Philippines 2012 na gaganapin sa Manila Hotel.

Sa kabila ng pagsuporta nito sa pagsasabatas ng isang freedom of information (FOI) law, nagpahayag ng oposisyon ang GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) sa pagsasama ng right of reply provision sa FOI bill na kasalukuyang nakabinbin sa Kongreso.
Sa liham kay Eastern Samar Representative at Chairman of the House Committee on Public Information Ben P. Evardone, sinabi ni GMA Vice President for Legal Affairs Ma. Luz P. Delfin na ang pagpilit sa media na maglaan ng mileage – maging sa print, on-air, o online – sa sino mang nagnanais na sumagot sa hinaharap na isyu ay hahamon sa journalistic freedom at editorial prerogative ng media organizations.
Ayon kay Delfin, sa ilalim ng right of reply, maitatakda kung ano ang nararapat na ilabas ng media sa halip na hayaan itong mag-report ng ibang mas mahalagang balita na patungkol sa genuine public interest.
Ani Delfin, marami pa ring media practitioners – tulad ng GMA – na patuloy sa pagsunod sa kanilang sistema ng self-regulation at tradisyon ng patas at balanseng pagbabalita, at pinapatnubayan ng kani-kaniyang code of ethics. Mayroon ding mga ahensiya at mekanismo na tumitiyak sa pagsunod ng mga media organization sa mga alituntunin ng responsableng pagbabalita.
Dagdag pa niya, maaring magtungo sa korte ang mga indibidwal na sangkot sa mga negatibong balita o ‘di kaya’y gamitin ang mga alternative media.
