Tonight on “American Idol” the finalists will be tackling the songs of Queen. One former winner who will be watching is season 8 champ Kris Allen, who tells us he’s been glued to his TV this year watching the show. So who is Kris’ favorite contestant this season?

"I love Queen and have been a big fan for a long time,” said Jessica, who admits it is a challenge to match Mercury’s stratospheric vocal delivery and uber-charismatic stage presence.

“It’s hard. It’s hard for all of us girls (on ‘Idol’). We have to change the pitch and it’s been really difficult, but we get over it. That’s what we’re here for — to make the songs our own. The judges told me I need to open up more and connect with the audience, and that’s definitely what I’m going to be doing.

MANILA, Philippines – A popular US magazine ranked Filipino-Mexican singer Jessica Sanchez at No. 4 in its “American Idol” rankings, her lowest since Season 11 started.

This was two steps below her spot last week at No. 2.

In its Top 6 Power List, Entertainment Weekly said Sanchez was not “as creative and passionate as we were hoping” during the performance night.

Entertainment Weekly earlier said it is hoping for a Sanchez comeback following her near elimination as the “Now & Then” theme seemed to be tailored especially for her.

Last week, “Idol” judges gave restrained praises for Sanchez who performed "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys for the first round and a cover of Otis Redding's classic "Try A Little Tenderness" for the second round.

While the judges praised Sanchez’s perfomances and said that they do not regret using the save on her, they reminded the 16-year-old singer that having just a good voice isn't enough.

"We got a little bit of your alter ego BB Chez. She came out a little bit here. Just the voice isn’t going to do it," judge Jennifer Lopez told her.

Entertainment Weekly said “with so many girls left, [Sanchez] has really got to wow us this week.” Comprising the Top 6 are four girls and two boys.

Top male contestant Phillip Phillips vaulted to the top from No. 6 last week, with the article saying he “blew everyone away with a rearranged Usher song on 'Now & Then' night.”

Skylar Laine, who was previously No. 4, is now at No. 2 while Joshua Ledet did not move an inch at No. 3.

Hollie Cavanagh climbed to No. 5 from No. 7 last week while Elise Testone was at the bottom this time.

On Thursday, the Top 6 will perform two songs each. Every contestant needs to pick a Queen song and they can perform any song they want to sing for the second round.

There is no denying that Jessica is the best ........... di lang siya feel ng voting public dun sa US. Iba ang type nila. AI is never about who is the best singer, but who is the most popular sa mga Kano. Or maybe yung type ng mga taga south kasi panay manok na lang nila ang nanalo
