some new additions to my collection:

tojiro dp 240mm gyuto / chef knife, blue cobalt stainless steel core with stainless steel cladding

sold my wusthof grand prix 2 chef knife to get this baby:

aritsugu kyoto santoku, san mai, blue#2 carbon steel core with softer stainless cladding, bought for P1600 but turns out to be a $200 knife

the oldest one of the lot:

old hickory 10" 1095 carbon steel chef knife, 60 years old. a real fun to use. i love vintage knives. super fun to use. looks to be sharpened and ground down by a left handed person, and i'm left handed as well. so good for me. my beater knife.

all bought as used items. but i can't say no to a great barget.

i got more stuff coming in. lol.

Sir Franz, saan mo nabili yung Green Pan? and mga ano ba presyo niyan, starting at what price? Thanks.

  5. #45
may greenpan akong nakita sa shopwise a few months back. kaso ngayon parang wala na. ikot ikot nalang kayo sir. parang may napansin den ako sa tru value.

those pans are great value. almost needs no oil. but i like oil. fat is flavor sabi nga naman ng chef instructor ko.

i saw some sa metro sa tabi ng alabang town center for a decent price. but i don't suggest using knife blocks since hot all knives will fit there. and when you have lazy help like we do, she doesn't even bother cleaning the knife before putting it back in the block. so lalanggamin and what else lang yung block. magnetic strip nalang. a good one that doesn't let your knives fall off. lol.

i just saw greenpan sa lock&lock shop sa ATC. check 'em out.

  11. #51
make sure you use nonstick friendly cooking utensils on them and not scotch brite the pans too much

    =p

thanks for the tip. will check it out. Problem with the magnetic bar eh kung saan pwede i-mount, marble kasi yung kitchen counter and walls. Ang bigat naman ng mga knife block na nakikita ko dito, dagdag weight sa bagahe hehe.

  13. #53
isa pa yun. magnetic bars are a lot lighter. hehe.

can buy those locally as well, no idea if they're any good though, the cheap ones. i see them all the time at MK kitchen supply.

problem ko den pag mount ng magnetic bars. could be good to make a cabinet of some sort and mount the bar there. it's what i plan for my knives.

something like this would be good for you, helps with kids na malikot as well:

my knife addiction would probably get me to make something like this though:

    lol.

    =D

Eto pala yung sinasabi mong mga knives. Cool

I'm thinking about getting a Dutch oven or crock pot. Still weighing out pros and cons, though.

  18. #58
don't worry ichigo, may ipapamana ako sa iyo galing sa mga kutsilyo ko balang araw. pangako ko sayo yan.
