Promo Mechanics:

1. A thread will be created where a promo question is published. The thread will be created in the PinoyExchange Promo forum as well as in the Movie sub-forum.
2. Participants should answer the question correctly and provide contact details after answering the question.
3. Participants who correctly answered the movie question will qualify for the prizes.
4. Winners will be selected randomly by inputting all entries in an excel sheet and picking a number using a randomizer (www.random.org).
5. The entry where the number of the row matched the number provided by the randomizer wins.
6. Multiple entries are not allowed. Should a participant submit multiple entries, only their first entry will be considered. All other entries will be excluded from the list before picking the winners.
7. One promo question will be posted within the duration of the promo.
8. There will be one (1) winners in total.
9. Winners will be notified by private message in PinoyExchange, announcement in the promo thread, and through SMS.
10. The promo will end on Aug 20, 2012 (Monday) in the movie promo thread.

How to Join & Who are Eligible to Join:

1. Registered PinoyExchange members are eligible to join. They must have a PinoyExchange username.
2. Only those who registered and submitted entries before the final deadline are eligible to join.
3. Employees of Havoc Digital, Columbia Pictures, and its third party partners up to second degree of consanguinity are not qualified to join the promo.

How to Register:

1. Go to www.pinoyexchange.com and click on register. Fill up the form to create an account.
2. Go to your e-mail and click the link provided in the confirmation message.

Provision on Valid Entries:

1. Participants should answer the promo question completely
2. Participants must provide the contact details completely
3. Answers should be sent within the cut-off period.

Provision on Invalid Entries:

1. The second and succeeding entries of a single participant will be invalid.
2. Entries with incomplete details will be invalid.
3. Entries with incorrect answers will be invalid
4. Entries submitted after the cut-off period will be invalid.
5. Username will be checked when an entry is selected. If the username does not appear in the PinoyExchange database, the entry will be invalid.

Prizes:

Determination of Winners:

1. Entries will be encoded in an excel sheet.
2. Second and succeeding entries from one participant will be deleted from the excel sheet.
3. A randomizer will be opened (www.random.org) and the first and last number of the entries will be inputted in the randomizer.
4. A random number will be generated to determine the winner.
5. Screen shots of the process will be saved.
6. PinoyExchange.com reserves the right in picking winners for the duration of the promo.

Announcement of Winners:

1. The winners will be announced in PinoyExchange after the announced cut–off period.
2. The list of winners will be announced in the promo thread and the relevant sub-forum.
3. The winners will be messaged personally through their PinoyExchange account.
4. The winners will be contacted via SMS using the mobile number they provided.

Control Measures:

Whether on not you've seen Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall, forget about it. A remake is never a carbon-copy of the original. It has its own distinctive style. An "original" on its own. So don't try to recall the 1990 classic, or how precious and incomparable it is for you. Erase it from your mind, and embrace a new memory.



Sci-fi-action fans will take pleasure in Len Wiseman's totally modern Total Recall (2012), this time casting Colin Farrell as Doug Quaid. Loosely based on the 1966 short story by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall takes us to a dystopian future, post World War III, when the Earth is almost uninhabitable in the aftermath of a chemical warfare. Only two livable but overcrowded territories exist: The Colony and The United Federation of Britain. Doug, a factory worker in The Colony, and married to the beautiful Lori (Kate Beckinsale), has recurring dreams of a life way more exciting than his daily routine in the assembly line, dreams that are action-packed, and with a girl (Jessica Biel).




Seeking a break from his monotonous, boring life, Doug goes to Rekall, a company that offers artificial memories. A fantasy mind-trip that will make your dream life come true. You can have any memories you desire, except something that overlaps your real life experiences. Doug excitedly chooses the memory of a super spy, but before the procedure even finishes, he is attacked by law enforcement, accused of being a secret agent— and suddenly, to his shock, he's acting like one. So, is Doug a real spy unbeknownst to him? Or is everything just a product of Rekall? And The Colony, he is told, is in danger...or is it? And an underground terrorist group led by Matthias (Bill Nighy) is evil...or are they?




Do not expect deep mind games, but do except the revival of the three-breasted prostitute, some stunning visuals and lots of tensing action and suspense, filled with engaging and elegant martial-arts fighting scenes. The visuals are eye candy, succeeding in transporting you into a different world— which is what sci-fi should be all about. The Colony is an artful shantytown, a labyrinth-like pulsating "New Shanghai"; gray, dark, and gloomy, punctuated with vibrant colors here and there, and fun, modern technology that we might actually see in the future. The United Federation of Britain, the affluent part of the world, is "Euro-America," sepia-like London, misty and modern. The merging of Old World and clever futuristic details make Total Recall's world a delicious visual trip.



Beckinsale is glorious to watch, all acrobatic and threatening. Biel and Farrell make a good team, competent and engaging to watch. Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), chief of police, make a formidable antagonist, but Bill Nighy lack that sort of rebel vibe.

Total Recall, in its entirety, is basically an action flick, with mild political undertones. It's a good, solid story. Probably not awesome, but very much entertaining. A visually-pleasing popcorn action-sci-fi flick that will satisfy your Friday-night movie date.

I'll never forget watching this (albeit censored pa) over GMA 7 nearly 20 years ago this October - nirecord pa ni erpat yun. I got a debede months ago. I'll have the new one and see for myself whether it is on par with Ahnuld's version.

7.5 of 10 for me. Okey sha and not bad. Just saw it kanina and hindi naman ako nagsisi na pinanood ko to. Breathtaking nga pero parang minadali yung story. Pero so far isa to sa magandang pelikula ni Colin Farell.

Pero grabe, mas lalo kong naging crush si Kate Beckinsale dito. Grabe hot pa din.



Kahit si Jessica Biel medyo maskulada eh hot pa din.

Surprisingly, I liked this movie a lot. The story is simple and easy to follow plus the visual is great.

I remember this line when Collin Farrel said "I recognized you from a dream" to which Jessica Biel replied "It wasn't a dream, it was a memory"

- i haven't watch the 1980 Total Recall so i can't tell the differences yet.
- the movie is good pero it's a bit of rush sa mga dulo.

nagkaiba lang yung ending kung paano exterminate yung tao sa colony from original sa 2012 version.

yung sa original, papatayin yung oxygen machine na nag susupport unlike sa 2012 version e ..susugurin sila ng robots

In most aspects of filmmaking, the new Total Recall is inferior to the 1990 original. Compared to Len Wiseman, Paul Verhoeven is masterful in telling the story of Doug Quaid and the whole messy situation he's in.

Really, the TR remake was unnecessary.
