In a 1-minute-20-second video, "Survivor: Philippines" has been officially unveiled. Three mystery contestants from previous episodes will return to the special 25th season shot entirely in the Caramoan, Camarines Sur.

In the preview video, Survivor host Jeff Probst calls the Philippines "one of our most treacherous locations yet."

"Here, thousands of islands are scattered over the Southeast Asian Sea hide a dark and sinister secret," Probst says, "The waters are teeming with ravenous sharks and the land provides no refuge. Deadly snakes rule the jungles and furious storms break even the strongest spirits."

There will be three "tribes" at the start of the season. As per Survivor tradition, they will carry indigenous names. The "Survivor: Philippines" tribes will be: "Matsing" (Monkey), "Tandang" (Rooster) and "Kalabaw" (Water Buffalo).

"First we decided on three tribes. That was the first thing. And that was just an effort to change up the way the numbers were playing. People were locking into these alliances of five. So we thought, okay, let’s try a three-tribe scenario and see what that does. Once we had the three tribes, we talked about are we going to do returnees? I love returnees,” Probst said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Caramoan has been a favorite site for international franchises of Survivor. The place has hosted the Serbian version in two consecutive seasons. It has also hosted the Israel version of Survivor for two previous seasons. Israel has also planned to film their fifth season in Caramoan in 2011. BulgarianSurvivor also filmed their fourth season there in May to July 2009. Robinson 2010, the twelfth season of the Swedish version of the franchise, was also filmed in Caramoan from May to June 2010.

The 8th season of Koh-Lanta (French edition of Survivor), was also shot entirely in Caramoan. TV director Corinne Vaillant, stated that "the powdery sand, the coconuts on Gota beach and the neighboring islets are a 'dream' for the French people. We chose Caramoan because it’s really wild. It’s necessary that contestants don’t see anything other than nature for them to believe that they’re really lost in the wilds.”

The 25th and 26th seasons of the American version of Survivor is currently being filmed in 2012.

Looks like the boat in the logo has a very significant role in the Episode 1 of Survivor: Philippines, like in the logos (and the premiere episodes) of Survivor: Pearl Islands, Survivor: Cook Islands, Survivor: Micronesia, Survivor: Samoa, and Survivor: Nicaragua (there's no appearance of a ship/galleon, though),

    confused yata yung writer?

hindi ba tapos nang magtape ang season 25? so kung dumating si Jeff ngayong araw, that means for season 26 na yang kukunin nila?
