For AS boys, I commend them for being able to lift girls kahit na sometimes, hindi stable. Looking at their built, na yung iba ay kasing size lang ng girls, other even smaller, hindi sila kasing lalaki ng UP pep boys pero they can lift quite well.

AS may not have the best stunting groups in the country, pero hindi naman sila nagpapahuli
Hmmm. I haven't seen them in person, but based on available videos and pictures, I think mas malalaki ang AS boys. Looking at their picture in the below link, mayroon pa nga sa kanila na malalaki ang tyan (sorry to say that, no offense meant). And these guys, I think can't do acceptable (?) straddle jumps (looks like they can only do star jumps). Apparently, they had been included in the team for lifting purposes only. Unlike the UP Pep boys who are truly versatile. Lifting, stunting, jumping (?), dancing ba? Kayang kaya nila.

Don't hate me for saying these things ha? I mean no offense. The DLSU AS is a strong and competitive team. I'm only sharing my opinion here, based on my point of view.

Moving on, when is the UAAP opening for next season? I think everyone is excited to watch halftime performances for us to be able to have a glimpse of what the squads have in store for us.

For me, UP, ADMU and DLSU have the best halftime uniforms while UP and ADMU naman sa mga nakaraang CDC.

I dunno. I have seen quite a number of UP pep boys, and quite a lot of them are bigger in comparison. Regarding jumps, kahit sa gymnastics, hindi rin pulido yung AS, pero it all comes down to one's forte, and kung ano yung forte nung squad. AS is obviously focusing more on liftings. Besides, unlike other squads, mas focused ang AS sa tradition nila, kaya madalas traditional cheers ang routine ng AS sa mga performances nila

maraming factors when it comes to liftings. Minsan nasa base, minsan nasa flyer.

buti pa pag halftime vs. ADMU, walang nahuhulog

Actually, I find the halftime uniforms of UP too simple. Parang PE class lang

Ateneo and La Salle have the best halftime uniforms

gusto ko kasi yung yung white uniform nila 2 years ago vs. ADMU. yung may sun and 3 stars ala Philippine flag. astig din yung ala military uniform nila nung opening game ng season 73 vs. DLSU and yung ala Tinkerbell nila nung vs. UST

    My Forecast for CDC 2012:

    1. UP

    a. Pyramids: They really set the trend for this criteria. They can do different mountings to 3rd level pyramids (full up to 2-2-1, full up to stag was done in 2009, backhandspring to 2-2-1, 4-4-5), and various transitions of swedish falls (deadman lift in 2009, same transition with 1/4 turn in 2010). Now, straddle pyramids. Double full up is not impossible for UP pep this 2012.

    b. Stunts. They already did rewinds, double cupies, flatback to full extenstions. Superb transitions. Kailangan lang ng variation. I've haven't see them doing chin-chins, scales, nikes. Unlike other teams na isang CDC lahat ng forms gagawin, sa UP Pep, installment basis.

    c. Tosses. Variations din although their execution is the best. 2011 was the year were all of their tosses have X's except for their double fulls (X Layout, X-Out Full, Straddle to X; bird front x out) and all of them are in Level 6 category.

    d. Tumbling. Quantity and variation and AFI ko dito. Supposedly, 5 ang full twsiters nila last CDC pero naglayout lang *** isa due to safety issues. As to form, Napapa-tuck pa *** ibang full twisters nila. Hopefully, they can do arabians, pike open or a modified CDC 2010 tumbling segment with different variations.

    2. FEU

    a. Pyramids: NCC is their revelation. They were the second team to do full ups to 2-2-1. They did 4-4-5's (although similar sa UP). With UC's coach on their back, they can do pyramid transitions which UC DS does.

    b. Stunts. They have the forms. Variations for mounting and bawas lang sa bases. Improving na ang tic-tocs.

    c. Tosses. Forms lang ang AFI. They have the variation (I really like their tosses nung 2010). It's nice to see that marami sa flyers nila can do full twist. Before kasi, 1 or 2 lang. And if I'm not mistaken, magkaiba yung nag execute ng double fulls nung 2009 and 2010/2011.

    d. Tumbling. Wala na akong masabi. They lead in this department.

    3. DLSU/ADMU

DLSU leads the stunts (full extensions agad, wala nang buwelo), ADMU leads the pyramids (toe pitch to stag, front walk to 2-2-1). Same lang sa tumbling and tosses although lead ang DLSU in terms of choreography.

    5. Adamson

If not for their errors, 4th place or even a Top 3 finish sila. Drastic improvement sila simula nung hinandle sila ng coach ng CCP. Stable stunts and great choreography. Quantity na lang saka execution.

    6. UST

They can do different stunt variations na.

    NU
Strengths nila ang tumblings and tosses. Improvement lang sa stunts since last CDC, hindi naexecute ng maayos yung partner stunts nila.

    UE

Strengths ang pyramids although marami pa silang kailangang iimprove sa other departments.

Nice review drail23. Hopefully we can see improvement especially in the items that you pointed out.

It would be nice to see ALL squads performing great routines worthy of a top 3 finish. Tipong ito ang score:

    1. UP - 97.5
    2. FEU - 97.3
    3. DLSU - 97.1
    4. ADMU - 97.05
    5. UST - 97.0
    6. AdU - 96.6
    7. NU - 96.3,
    8. UE - 96.31

    ===================================================

Except for a handful of FEUCS fans, everyone seems to be leaning towards UP Pep bagging the top prize next CDC. Hope they won't get complacent. Train lang nang train dapat, like what they have been doing.

That may be true.... or NOT?

I think, Thomasians would rather support the UP Pep squad than the FEUCS. But then again, let's just wait for the Thomasian Pexers here.

Actually, if we're talking about records, UP is already leading with 16 podium finish over UST's 14. Hindi naman siguro mamasamain ng UST fans kung mapantayan ng UP ang number of championships nila. Besides, UST still holds the 5-peat record.

  17. #135
^ well, right after the 2011 cdc, maraming ust fans ang naalarma dahil sa isang championship trophy na lang ang lamang ng ust sa up. syempre gusto ng mga taga-ust na hindi ma-break yung record 8 cdc titles nila and the 5-consecutive title run. i completely understand that.

^if the 2011 cdc didnt serve as a wake up call to ust's lax screening process for sdt try-outs then i dont know what will. and if they dont enforce stricter routines, discipline, measures in their stunts i dont see them part of the inner 3 anytime soon.
