going back to that incident, yun report sa Yahoo was totally erroneous. Actually, they were in a sudden death after that match ended at 5 a piece in regulation time. Shin was designated as a priority player, meaning if after a minute of extra time, both of them didn't makes a valid hit, she will be declared a winner. and she went on defensive mode dahil sya nga ang may advantage. and then that malfunction of electronic timer happened.
sh!t, 2nd day na akong nanood ng delayed. Block lahat sa office. Hanggang tweet na lang.
Medal Tally
Sana Bulgaria makasungkit ng Gold sa Men's Indoor Volleyball
Olympic notes - day 4
1.) After winning his 19th medal in 800m freestyle relay, Michael Phelps officially became the most bemedalled athlete in Olympic history, surpassing Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union. that gold medal he won in that event, was his 15th, also the most in Olympic history.
2.) Tony Estanguet of France became the first three-time Gold medallist in Olympic canoeing history after regaining the gold medal in single-canoe slalom event.
3.) Urška Žolnir gave Slovenia its first gold medal in judo after topping the women's half-middleweight event.
4.) The tennis match between France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Canada's Milos Raonic took 3 hours and 57 minutes, the longest 3-set match in Olympic history. two more records were also set in this match, 66 total games played and 48-game third set (which lasted for three hours alone) were the most in 3-set match, surpassing the 63-game match which was played during the women's doubles match between the Canadian pair Carling Basset-Seguso/Jill Hetherington and Argentinian pair of Gabriela Sabatini/Mercedes Paz in 1988 Seoul Olympic which also include the 38-game third set. that match also surpassed the 48-game match where Chile's Fernando Gonzalez defeated Taylor Dent of the United States in their 2004 men's single bronze medal match that ended in 16-14 in the third set.
if we count the Olympics as a Grand Slam event, that final set was the second most number of games played. well, the most was played just a few courts away from court number 1 where in court 19, John Isner of the United States beat French qualifier Nicolas Mahut in that epic 70-68 final set in 2010 Wimbledon first round match.
