Stephen R. Hart cast as Brother Jeremiah in CITY OF BONES
The cast for The Mortal Instruments; City of Bones is nearly complete.
Stephen R. Hart has been cast as Brother Jeremiah, Cassandra Clare announced on Tumblr.
Here’s what Clare had to say about Hart:“The Silent Brothers are archivists, but that is not all they are,” interrupted Hodge, sounding as if he were running out of patience. “In order to strengthen their minds, they have chosen to take upon themselves some of the most powerful runes ever created. The power of these runes is so great that the use of them—” He broke off and Clary heard Alec’s voice in her head, saying: They mutilate themselves. “Well, it warps and twists their physical forms. They are not warriors in the sense that other Shadowhunters are warriors. Their powers are of the mind, not the body.”
Filming on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones begins between August 15-20 and is slated for an August 23, 2013 theatrical release in the U.S.Dude seems appropriately creepy to me. Also he will be buried under pounds of makeup and robes. Interested to see how the Silent Brothers turn out visually.
sya na ang walng ka-effort effort na role. Walang dialogue.
Lily Collins currently stunt training for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES
With filming on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones set to get underway in about a week, pre-production is in full swing and soon the actors and crew will make their way to Toronto for the start of production.
According to tweets from stuntman Alain Moussi, Lily Collins (Clary) is undergoing stunt training with On Set Stunts, led by stunt coordinator Jean Frenette.
And it looks like our girl Lily is kicking some butt.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones begins filming around August 15 and is slated for an August 23, 2013 theatrical release in the U.S.
Rumor: Jonathan Rhys Meyers in negotations to play Valentine in CITY OF BONES
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in negotiations to play Valentine Morgenstern in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in negotiations to join the cast of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s YA fantasy novel from Constantin Film and Unique Pictures.
Harald Zwart is directing the movie, which is due to begin production later this month in Toronto.
Lily Collins leads the cast as a young woman who discovers she is the descendant of a secret cadre of half-angel warriors called Shadowhunters locked in an ancient battle to protect the world from demons. Jessica Postigo and I. Marlene King wrote the script.
Rhys Meyers will play Valentine Morgenstern, described as a powerful but insane Shadowhunter looking to make the world pure at any cost.
Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey and Mad Men’s Jared Harris and Kevin Zegers are among the cast.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers Is A Shadowhunter In 'Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones'
Since the successful debut of the “Twilight” franchise, and especially in the aftermath of “The Hunger Games,” studios have been rushing to find the next big thing in the young adult genre, and Screen Gems is betting big on Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments” saga. Set to begin shooting in Toronto in a few weeks, the film has found its lead villain in Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
“The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones,” the first book in the series, begins with 16-year-old Clary (Lily Collins) and her best friend Simon getting into a New York club. While there, Clary interrupts what looks like an odd-looking gang taking on an innocent boy, only to discover that the boy is actually a demon and the gang are a group of demon-hunting Shadowhunters, invisible to all but her. From then, she’s drawn into an ancient war between the Shadowhunters, sworn to protect humanity, and the Downworlders -- vampires, werewolves, demons et al. -- discovers that she has powers she’s never dreamed of, and soon realizes that the Shadowhunters’ greatest enemy might come from within. And along the way, she’ll have to choose between Simon (Robert Sheehan), who’s long been in love with her, and Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower), who’s she’s feeling increasingly drawn to.
Meyers will play the big bad of the piece, Valentine Morgenstern the leader of the Shadowhunters rebellion long believed to be dead but is back to finish what he started, and he’s being backed up by Kevin Durand and wrestler Robert Maillet. The “Match Point” actor is no stranger to franchises, having appeared in J.J. Abrams’ “Mission: Impossible III,” but this will probably be his most high-profile role on the big screen in a bit of time, though he's been leading "The Tudors" on TV to some acclaim.
Shucks! Kras ko yan si Jonathan Rhys Myers! May mga magaganda din syang song! Siya yung tatay nung child prodigy sa August Rush di ba! A very commendable film.
Jamie Campbell-Bowerr was aprroached palato play Enjolras sa movie adaptation ng Les Miserables, starring Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman. Pero di nya tinanggap. Malaki sana tong exposure bago ipalabas ang Mortal Instruments eh.
ok CC and the studio confirmed Jonathan Rhys Meyers na nga. funny how the actor playing Valentine has the same name as the first Shadowhunter and Valentine and Michael's son. post ko ulet pero this time the confirmation from CC.
Official: Jonathan Rhys Meyers cast as Valentine in CITY OF BONES
We now have confirmation that Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cast as Valentine Morgenstern in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
News on Rhys Meyers’ casting was broke by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, but was unconfirmed until now.
Cassandra Clare took to Tumblr to confirm the news and share her thoughts:
I’ve liked JRM since he was in Velvet Goldmine and I have to admit that image was what sprang immediately to mind when the producer called me and said “…Jonathan Rhys Meyers?”
I was like, “Velvet Goldmine!”
And Robert, who is German and very practical, was like, “I hope you have seen things he is in since then or I will assume you do not go to the theater.”
So yes I should probably also mention that JRM plays Henry the 8th on The Tudors, and does a very good job of being charismatic, power-hungry, and cold.
Also a man who appreciates his weaponry.
Did Henry the Eighth own unbuttoned white shirts? And unlaced pants? Either way I suppose we now see why Valentine got so many people to follow his crazy schemes. I suspect by the end of the movie everyone will be going “Just do what that good-looking guy tells you to do, you crazy kids!”
I should probably also mention that he was great in Match Point and Bend it Like Beckham and lots of my other favorite movies. So, in sum: Ireland, we have cleaned you out of your hot men. Sorry about that. You can have them back in three months when they’re done filming. In the meantime, Sarah Rees Brennan has offered to go onset and paint shamrocks on all the trailers.
[Also I apologize for my absenteeism these past few days. I hate it when there are rumors and I can’t confirm them so I decided to pretend to be dead until I got the confirmation letter news, which was very good for Clockwork Princess, on which I got a lot of revision work done, if not necessarily for my sanity.]
Also, the official movie website, TheMortalInstrumentsMovie.com, has been updated with the casting.
Clare also revealed on Twitter that casting is complete for the film with just several mior roles left to be announced, including Raphael and Alaric.
I also want to know who will play Raphael since he will be a recurring character in the series.
Mga fighting scenes na aabangan ko sa City of Bones.
1.Hotel Dumort (Werewolves vs. Vampires)
-First time in action lahat ng teen shadow hunters (Jace, Clary, Isabelle, Alec), syempre kasama si Simon,
3.Renwick's Ruin (Werewolves vs. The Forsaken, Luke vs. Blackwell, Pangborn and Valentine)
-I wonder kung paano nila to i-prepresent since POV ni Luke to di ba? Exciting kasi werewolves, faeries, night children, knight, shadowhunters involved)
gusto ko din sa start ng film may parang mythology intro, yung parang magpapakita sila ng drawings on how shadow hunters were made and stuff like that with an image of Raziel rising from Lake Lyn with the cup and the sword at hand. para hindi na kailangang i-explain out of nowhere sa movie and para hindi din ma-confuse ang viewers.
ang lakas maka Twilight nitong si Clary at Jace naiirita ako.
sa September pa siguro ang shoot sa pad ni Magnus.
