I agree on this...before nagkaroon ang Krispy Kreme (and J.Co), the concept of Go Nuts is patterned after Krispy Kreme. I remember one time na pumunta ako somewhere sa BGC (tapat ng NBC Tent, I forgot the landmark) at yung mga donuts ng Go Nuts are freshly made at dumadaan siya sa machine para lagyan siya ng glaze. [same goes sa Araneta Coliseum Cirlce back then]

but nung nagkaroon na ng KK, Go Nuts slowly closes some shops and some branches become smaller. katulad sa may megamall. malaki pa ang space nila, ngayon, stall type na lang siya (nasa may timezone na siya)

Yeah. GoNuts Donuts had their flagship shop in The Fort Strip some time back in 2002/2003. Isang oras din ang pila minsan. What they would do is give free samples of the donuts while in line.

They almost have the same formula sa KK but they didn't have consistent shapes. Still, I think before KK came, they have capitalized on the market's money already. Halos 4 years before dumating yung KK eh, and by then, medyo die down narin ang craze.

Will try this J. Co also. Good thing may KK din sa Megamall para masubukan at the same time

Based on my observation, the reason many people loved GoNuts Donuts before because it was our version of KK, it was the closest thing we can get our hands on. But since KK came here already there was no reason for these people to go to GoNuts anymore. Tsaka bumaba talaga quality nila years ago kasi they tried to compete with the low price of Dunkin and Mister Donuts.

    My new favorite talaga!

The Green Tea donut was so good! Super yummy

I also liked the kakaibang taste of the Avocado Cappucino.

I was about to say this...looking for the J.Co thread.

I am a Krispy Kreme (upscale) and Dunkin Donuts (affordable) donut fan. And I decided to try J.Co for the first time. I bought one dozen for P350. then I tasted one; the flavors are ok, but the dough is somewhat "mahangin" compared to KK. I might try it again, kung sawa na ako sa KK.

who owns the J.CO franchise here in PH?

Contemporain Foods Inc. (manufacturer of Oishi) chairman Carlos Chan and vice chairman Edgar Sia (who established Mang Inasal) brought the J.CO franchise in the Philippines.

I was in the Greenbelt branch yesterday, super dami ng tao. They were gunning for hype, ayan na nga. I like the not-so-sweet Alcapone doughnut and J.Club cheese sandwich, and the froyo.

same same, yesterday, the queue is also long at the soft opening at Trinoma

    alcapone is their best seller
blue berrymore tasted like a cheesecake
forest glam is a black forest donut
avocado dicaprio had avocado frosting, choco sprinkles, and creme filling
grean tease also had avocado and creme fillings
berry spears had sour creme filing
why nut was the sweetest because of the peanut butter filling

skip the chocolate covered donuts. it tastes like go nuts

42p a donut is kindda prohibitive but we bought 2dozens which was discounted by almost 50%. and, youre limitted to the donuts on display. not unless you want to keep the line long.

missed out on thr tiramisu, mona pisa, donna italiano, and mango blitz

im going to try it someday. Hopefully the size is not small and hindi puro hangin yun donut.

i just wondered, why is it so famous? is it because they have more "unique" flavors like green tea or almond (I call it unique kasi having a green tea or almond flavored donuts isn't really common here in pinas compare sa ibang country)

the green tea donut is just an ordinary donut with frosting and nuts

Just tried the SM Megamall branch yesterday. Personally, there was nothing special with their donuts. Some of the flavors even lacked taste, like the strawberry/blueberry/avocado topping and the cream filling. The fruit flavors were not as prominent as they were supposed to be, and the cream is a bit confused (or am I the one who was confused). Was it supposed to be cream cheese or just the plain old cream? It is really hard to explain but the flavors somewhat lack the support of each other. The good thing is they give us the not-so-usual donut flavors, like the green tea and avocado.
