    Who watches NCAA?

^ Bored people. When their most, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th favorite tv shows are not airing, and all that's left is TYRA's ANTM Rewind.

It is not the NCAA who brings it head on vs the UAAP. It is AKTV.

Please take note that there is a prior contract between the PBA and AKTV.

Regular playdays ng PBA ang Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays where the games starts before 5pm.

Monday has long been a regular playday for the NCAA, at di naman pwedeng gawin dikit dalawang araw and have games on Tuesday.

Dahil may obligasyon nga ang AKTV sa PBA on Wed, Fri at Sun; kaya malinaw na Thu at Sat lang ang available days for AKTV in addition to Mon.

AKTV itong move na ito. They have no other choice because of a prior commitment sa PBA and can only give the NCAA the days that are not regular PBA game days.

^ So walang live telecast NCAA games sa Sunday gaya ng binalita earlier? Well, NCAA is again playing second fiddle to a much powerful bigger brother in PBA. What else is new di ba. Pero at least sa new tv network ng NCAA, may weekend games na sila and that is great for that league.

^ pwede naman "gawan ng paraan" ng AKTV yan by airing NCAA games at a much earlier time akin to what ABS-CBN did to the UAAP and the NCAA when the PBA temporarily moved to Studio 23 from Solar TV.

I don't think AKTV will win the ratings battle kahit pa UE-UP ang naglalaban sa Studio 23. Dahil kahit halftime performance sa UAAP, inaabangan.

Not that easy for the NCAA to schedule the games 1 or 2 hours early. Please take note, unlike the UAAP, the NCAA Junior games are played on the same day the Seniors play and at the same venue. That’s 2 Juniors game.

In the usual 2pm to 6pm Seniors sked, the Juniors play is at 9am to 1pm. A 1 hour buffer between Jrs and Srs is a must in the event the a Jrs game goes OT or double OT. Pag magkasunod agad at may extension ang Jrs, it will overlap with the broadcast time of the Srs. Hence, to move the Srs game early, you would also have to move the Jrs game early.

It will all be inconvenient for the game officials and league staff and crew to be at the venues at 7am because there is a game at 8am.

    It should be- Goodluck AKTV!!!

The NCAA got a weekend playday and they will be paid for the broadcast rights they gave to AKTV. Masaya na sila dyan.

This league has consistently said it is a league for the member schools.

    They just want to play.

we have to respect NCAA's move. kung after 3 years eh hindi sila masaya sa AKTV, puwede naman silang bumalik sa ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN, for sure, will try its best na mapaganda ang UAAP coverage, not only for basketball and volleyball but for other sports...

Goodluck nalang sa NCAA , pero their transfer is an advantage to the UAAP. It means mas focus na ang ABSCBN sa collegiate games ng UAAP and since may katapat na, mas aayusin pa nila lalo when it comes to coverage etc.. so Im expecting a better and bigger UAAP 75

I am fearful of this ratings as well. I hope them well and good job on such a bold move! I just wish they will be organized to a T as it is not an easy hurdle to overcome. I also hope that the competing schools will trek to the venues.

NCAA's move of putting up their games on UAAP's game days is definitely a wrong move.

personally i think this move by AKTV to go head to head with ABS-CBN will benefit the UAAP even more, ABS has been quite complacent the past few years having no real competition. now that the NCAA will broadcast at the same timeslot as the UAAP, ABS-CBN will now need to think of bigger more interesting segments to ensure their ratings lead. more goodies for the UAAP fans!

i don't think the ncaa had a choice...

    1. the ncaa has been on a decline since admu & dlsu bolted the once glamorous league...the addition of new schools has not arrested the decline....
    2. abs cbn relegated them to 2nd class citizens (compared to uaap) in terms of scheduling and scope of coverage....obviously, this was not going to change while abs cbn retained coverage rights over both leagues...
    3. ncaa was losing the recruitment battle for prized cagers and volleybelles because of inferior TV exposure....
    4. the ncaa studentry and alumni have become increasingly agitated over their inability to watch games live because of poor scheduling...

let's just hope that competition brings out the best in both leagues....

More articles, more coverage and more up-to-date information.

i'm sure na darating ang instance na mag-aagawan ang UAAP at ang NCAA sa paggamit ng matitinong venues such as MOA Arena and Araneta Coliseum now na magkasabay na ang playing days ng dalawang liga.
UAAP will have the priority at the MOA
NU will be the host, NU will hold the UAAP top position
it could be one of the Sys and I dont think they can be bumped off at the MOA

Actually in terms of website, mas up-to-date ang website ng NCAA sa UAAP.

Yun nga eh, sobrang bad trip ng website. Biased kasi sa Basketball, Volleyball at etc. Baseball di napansin. Ito dapat gayahin nila oh:

    http://www.ncaa.com/

US NCAA yan, madami pang sports, madami pang divisions, pero maayos.
