    Roof Deck Concrete Slab

how long does it take before you remove the forms and scaffoldings of a roof deck concrete slab? ito po ba yung sabing curing period?

  2. #2
Our contractor set the curing period at 14 days. But if you use ready-mix 7 days would be enough.

Ah ok, Thanks. Actually my contractor removed the forms and scaffoldings just after 10 days. They used concrete mixer only, 1:2:3 concrete mixture. Worried lang akot im expecting more than 14 days to 1 mo. curing period. Ok lang *** yun baka di maattain maximum strength nung concrete?

definitely hindi naabot yung maximum (concrete mix design) strength, kasi concrete needs 28days to attain that.

Sana nga me accelerator mixture na nilagay. Ill talk to my contractor regarding about it, pero anticipate ko na that they will say Ok na yun na pwede na tanggalin mga forms and scaffolding.

    kailangan din ng water proofing?

  7. #7
Ive talked to my contractor, 1-2 weeks daw pde na tanggalin mga porma ng slab but still no work to be done nor put load on top of it coz still under curing period which is about 28days.There was no added accelerator (admixture) only liquid sahara for waterproofing.
As anticipated ok lang daw and no need to worry.

Ok lang ba talaga ito mga Sirs? I thought curing period is 14-28 days without removing the forms and scaffolding. and by the way, theres no shoring jack or other support left, totally bare na yung roof deck ko. Sana nga walang aberya roof deck ko.

koda, i would anticipate na nasa curing stage pa now since *** ak nbasa kung kelan ang pouring date.

normally, an inspector will look for signs of settlement.

suggestion lang po ito ah. this is just one of the appropriate action sa ganyang situation.

Yun curing period is more than 15 days- up to 28 days nga kung gusto mo talagang optimum setting. Ang sinasabi lang nila, you don't always have to wait 28 days to remove the forms and scaffoldings. Depende yan on several things. If its a large, expansive deck with sparse columns underneath, it would be more prudent to wait 28days. Kasi baka mag-sag sya under its own weight. Kung hindi naman malawak at well reinforced by rebar/matting, etc then maybe it can support itself without the forms and scaffolding as early as 15days.

for me, 20 consecutive days of no rain is enough.
