There is one old fart on a hobby forum who has the same exact trait, Guru na daw sya pero he does not have the respect of majority of forumers. In fact pinagtatawanan siya behind his back, no real respect ikanga.

I have been fixing my own ride for the past 10 years, on my own. Sick and tired of gunggong sablay mekanikos. Recently acquired a second hand 4x4, am rebuilding the engine and tranny by myself. Learned a lot from my late dad who used to be an oil refinery engineer. Also my house and gamit pang bahay is self acquired/ honestly gained, walang hingi kay papa o mama or worse galing sa nakaw.
Oh yeah, been to australia, the US, some asian cities.

I dunno if that is a good description of a jobless person.

Being insulted by a know-it-all wannabe old-fart insecure looney is as I would think, nakakalungkot.
Sayang oras since time is gold, not fools gold.

maseraticrg, you rock! My advice to you, huwag mo ng pansinin, sayang oras mo din. Hayaan mo na sya on his delusional quest for glory.
    Thank you sir!

I know the fact that each one of us here knows what kind of an old fart this guys is. My only point of argument with him is that this is a forum. People give their opinions and they brainstorm based on THEIR experience though some usually consult Mr. Google, they should give reference to where they got their info, and not state it as if it came out of their minds. Harsh words are not necessary here, though I understand that we have different personalities but as much as possible I hope that people here would act as educated as possible, and I'm just pertaining to that old fart. In one thread he was arguing about gasoline and he started showing mathematical computations, which for me was unnecessary because not all people here are engineers, or good mathematicians, and yet he was expecting me to disprove his facts by giving out calculations which would disprove his computations. In this case I have no plans of arguing with his mathematical computations but the fact that he cannot argue logically, makes him look even dumber.

I admire your lifestyle, sir. To be honest with you I am not a mechanic, though I try to understand the process on how to maintain and troubleshoot cars and I try to learn more about it, that's the reason why I join forums. This summer I am planning to enroll my self in TESDA's automotive program, because I want to learn more about troubleshooting cars. I agree with you about some mechanics who just adds up to the burden of owning a car, specially here in the philippines wherein a simple bearing could cost you more expenses such as a new compressor, or a ball joint replacement which can triple you the cost because some dumb mechanic would let you change your shock absorbers.

So to you , sir, thank you for your kind advice, and good luck in building your cars, and continue what you love doing. Continue to educate us with your knowledge and experience. Thank you for being kind and You rock!

Sometimes attitude and manners matters. Even if youre stating facts or fiction people ignore your opinion because of your negative traits. That fellow simply just do not get it, I believe he is suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Check the link below:

    http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis/p20-pe07.html

    Diagnostic Features:

Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, need for admiration, extreme self-involvement, and lack of empathy for others. Individuals with this disorder are usually arrogantly self-assured and confident. They expect to be noticed as superior. Many highly successful individuals might be considered narcissistic. However, this disorder is only diagnosed when these behaviors become persistent and very disabling or distressing.

    Complications:

Vulnerability in self-esteem makes individuals with this disorder very sensitive to criticism or defeat. Although they may not show it outwardly, criticism may haunt these individuals these individuals and may leave them feeling humiliated, degraded, hollow, and empty. They may react with disdain, rage, or defiant counterattack. Their social life is often impaired due to problems derived from entitlement, the need for admiration, and the relative disregard for the sensitivities of others. Though their excessive ambition and confidence may lead to high achievement; performance may be disrupted due to intolerance of criticism or defeat. Sometimes vocational functioning can be very low, reflecting an unwillingness to take a risk in competitive or other situations in which defeat is possible. Individuals with this disorder have special difficulties adjusting to growing old and losing their former ?superiority?.

    Comorbidity:

In this disorder, sustained feelings of shame or humiliation and the attendant self-criticism may be associated with social withdrawal, depressed mood, and Dysthymic or Major Depressive Disorder. In contrast, sustained periods of grandiosity may be associated with a hypomanic mood. Anorexia Nervosa, Substance-Related Disorders (especially related to cocaine), and other Personality Disorders (especially Histrionic, Borderline, Antisocial, and Paranoid) frequently co-occur with this disorder.

It reflects on his attitude in forums, simple.
Nakakaawa sya but my strong advice, ignore him.

    That's what I'm doing.

I think marami pa siyang Mental Disorders. Kailangan na magpa check up nyan para ma diagnose agad bago pa siya tuluyang tumanda..

That's how you fish the losers from the winners.

I mean this guy thought it was Gospel because his grandfather said so. But I disproved it using mathematical calculations and I even shared links on the web supporting my assertions. But because he doesn't like me, he doesn't believe me. I call that person a LOSER because he is blinded by bias, prejudice and lack of objectivity....
