Thesis vs. Non-thesis: What’s the Difference?
Many students wonder what the difference is between our thesis and non-thesis options. Basically, the
thesis option has more research, while the non-thesis has more classes. However, ALL master’s students
must conduct some sort of research or project.
Thesis students will conduct a large research project, which will likely involve several semesters of work.
These students must write a thesis, which is a large document that is likely to be published. The thesis
option is for students who wish to get a background in intense research, such as students who are going
to pursue a Ph. D., or students who will be conducting research.
Our non-thesis option is designed to be more flexible and is tailored for students who don’t necessarily
need a great deal of research training. --- from http://www.wiu.edu/biology/graduate/...non-thesis.pdf

Planning to take up Masters in Electrical Engineering in Diliman but I have reservations. My professors who are also board topnotchers have lots of 2.00 as their grades. 2.25 is the passing.

    It must be really difficult.lol

Suggestion ng professor ko is to take MA Econ sa AdMU and grab Regional and Urban Planning related electives.

Just to ask as well, ano ba qualifications sa practice?

    @solitary

try to get a job related sa Public policy, community development, real estate etc...

If matapos mo ang masters at may related work experience, you may take a Board Exam as an Environmental Planner. Check the details in PRC website

    hello everyone!

and on my current work, (mag fo-four years na ko s work) my boss is really trusting me to take or handle his projects. mag-isa lang aqng engineer sa office and there's too much pressure on me. kaya naisipan ko na kumuha ng higher level ng pag aaral para nmn lumevel -up ang aking nalalaman plus i want to quit my job and apply for another better one.

Pero I strongly suggest pursue mo yang MS, ayos yan

Hi Taurus_Lan, just share my thoughts about your current situation, mahirap talaga magbalance ng work and studies lalo na pag trusted ka din sa work. Kaso talaga, there will come a time na you'll feel na you need to give way naman to other things. Anyway, i am a headhunter by profession, baka matulungan kita to find another job. Usap nalang tayo sa email ko, crownprincess_tala1986@yahoo.com.

Been working for almost 8 years and has held several managerial positions, most of which in the BPO Industry. I'm interested in pursuing further studies and saw the Middle Manager Program of Ateneo Graduate School. Seemed like my current company and workload offers the flexibility to complete the program. I finished Accountancy from a state university. I'd like to try the MBA Middle Manager Program of Ateneo GSB.

Personally, my reasons are 1. to increase my knowledge base 2. (hopefully), to hold a more senior manager role and 3. to explore possibilities of teaching (I have always dreamed of being a university instructor)

I'm about to check Ateneo GSB tomorrow. I've already sent some recommendation forms addressed to my bosses.

    Questions -
    1. Generally, How tough is the entrance exam in Graduate Schools in the Philippines? (Just trying to re-orient myself with the basic concepts)

    2. Can anyone share their experience/s with Graduate School admissions interview.
