    makikisali lang ako:

i'm currently employed in one of the Big 4 here in the country. Audit is a wise choice in terms of career jumpstart. meron akong mga batchmates na nag start muna from private company bago lumipat ng Firm, ayun medyo boring daw kasi paulit ulit ng ginagawa.

*** nagsasabing inaabot sila ng magdamag o lumalampas pa ng 24 hours sa trabaho, depende naman un sa efficiency mo, kung kaya mo namang i produce *** working papers needed for the day in just the regular working hours or little extended OT, pwede na un.

I'm happy with my stay in the firm

good thing for you dude... tama yan... after the dirty works, time for you to shine... paglabas mo dyan. im sure, minimum double ang salary mo... but remember, hindi pareho work ng audit at pag naging chief accountant ka.. hindi lahat ng theory or experience mo sa audit, magagamit mo.. ika nga lagi ng mga clients, masyadong de-kahon ang audit...

I agree, its not instantly true when you say that auditors working for the BIG 4 or BIG 5 acquire less experience compared against their smaller firm counter parts. I'm saying "instantly" because it might also be true for those handling big accounts. Mas mabagal kasi phase ng mga huge accounts compared din to those who handle smaller clients.... its definite they will handle other procedures, pero mas mabilis at mas maraming beses ito magagwa ng mga staff na may hawak ng maliliit...

Audit is rich in learning opportunities... You will eventually handle tax for the FS preparation... magandang leverage to pag balak mong pumasok sa private...

I would say its worth it, pero siguraduhin mong hindi pera habol mo... di magandang motivation ang pera sa audit... in a way siguro, pera if you think about the long-term result...

Smaller accounts have shorter engagement length kaso

Worth it sa Big4 pag swerte sa clients...

Come to think of it, I had quite a good roster of clients and client exposure. It's really an overwhelming experience having to do internal audit engagements (even for few days) at two (2) of the top CBDs in Asia (last year 1month in SG, just earlier and tomorrow in HK) Even more excited with the chance of going back for potential testing in the middle and/or end of the year 2012.
