‘Biritera’ sings beautiful melodies on primetime

ANOTHER drama series is making waves, and its on GMA-7.

Topbilled by Dennis Trillo and featuring the Network's newest child star Roseanne Magan, the program tells of a young singer's journey in achieving her dream, at the same time discovering her roots.

Immediately on its pilot week (Feb. 6 to 10), Biritera hit high notes as revealed by its ratings according to the industry's more trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen Television Audience Measurement.

The show posted an average of 26.7 household rating points, zooming ahead of competition with only 19.5 points. Likewise, it registered high numbers in Urban Luzon, which comprises 77 percent of total urban households nationwide, with 25.0 rating points against its competition's 21.2 points.

The Kapuso weeknight drama further increased its lead on its second week, indicating the audiences' sustained fascination and intrigue with the developments in the story.

From Feb. 13 to 17, Biritera posted an average household rating of 29 points in Mega Manila, higher than the competitor's 20. In Urban Luzon, the show scored 26.6 rating points while its rival program registered only 22.1.

Based on the most recent ratings report from AGB Nielsen (Feb. 20 to 24 overnight ratings), Biritera is still ahead of its competitor with 24.6 rating points in Mega Manila, outscoring the competition's 20.3 rating.

In such a short span of time, Biritera captivated the audience and continues to draw in more viewers with its unique combination of drama and music. This success gives the cast, especially young Roseanne, who openly admits that her family's difficult financial situation is her reason in joining show business, and also the inspiration to be better.

Biritera is made for television by the GMA Drama Group and is directed by MaryoJ. delos Reyes, the director behind the hugely successful drama Munting Heredera.

The show also stars Angelika dela Cruz, Rich Asuncion, Ryan Eigenmann, Ces Quesada, Neil Ryan Sese, Gwen Zamora, Yul Servo, Kiel Rodriguez, Ken Chan, Orlando Sol, Sweet Ramos, Nomer Limatog, Jr., Jamaika Olivarez, Kim Komatsu, Hiro Magalona, Barbara Miguel, Scarlet, and Patricia Ysmael.

nakalimutan ni sir isah red si glaiza de castro ^^ ... pero, it's good that nagkakaroon ng mas matinding emotional scenes na si micmic/glaiza in Biritera. She is a great actress and she deserves more meaningful emotional scenes para mapakita ang acting talent nya.

in fairness, nagagalingan ako kay gwen zamora umarte huh! ang naaalala ko sa kanya is si marian rivera noong panahon pa ng Super Twins. hindi pa bida si marian that time pero meron syang lalim sa pag-arte kaya mapapahanga ka na.

Coco to do movie with Marian Rivera
    ABS-CBNnews.com

MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya star Coco Martin is set to do a movie with Marian Rivera this year.

In a post on its Facebook page on Wednesday, Regal Entertainment Inc. announced the still-untitled project with the two stars from competing networks. The movie will be directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes.

This is the first time Martin and Rivera will star in a movie together.

Another cross-network project, “Love Affair,” will star Lovi Poe and ABS-CBN’s Enrique Gil. The movie will be directed by Alvin Yapan.

Kapamilya star Zanjoe Marudo, on the other hand, will be paired with Solenn Heusaff in “Misteryosa,” directed by Richard Somes.

Regal aannounced its full line-up for the year, starting with its Mother’s Day offering, “D’ Mommy Returns” with Ruffa Gutierrez, Pokwang and Gabby Concepcion. The movie will be directed by Joel Lamangan and will also feature Gloria Diaz, Ervic Vijandre, Kiray Celis, Gerald Pesigan and Jillian Ward.

“Boy Pick Up,” the popular sketch of the comedy show “Bubble Gang” will also be turned into a full-length movie. “Boy Pick Up: The Movie” will star Ogie Alcasid, Dennis Trillo, Solenn Heusaff and the cast of the TV show.

ABS-CBN star Iza Calzado headlines “Hysteria,” which will be directed by Jun Lana, while Shaina Magdayao, Nikki Gil and Denise Laurel will star with Lovi Poe, Fabio Ide, JC Tiuseco and Ervic Vijandre in Adolf Alix’s “Ride to Love.”

Janice de Belen returns to her famous “Shake, Rattle and Roll” episode in the full-length horror film “Pridyider” with Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, Daniel Matsunaga and Venus Raj under the direction of Rico Ilarde.

One of Star Cinema’s favorite directors Joyce Bernal will direct Ruffa Mae Quinto and Jillian Ward in “Miss Impossible.”

The other Regal movies scheduled for this year are: “The Bride and the Lover” with Lovi Poe and Jennylyn Mercado under the direction of Joel Lamangan; “Guni-guni” tarring Isabelle Daza and Jennylyn Mercado and directed by Tara Illenberger; “Super Mao” starring Solenn Heusaff, Venus Raj, Isabelle Daza, Aloida Gosiengfiao, Kerbie Zamora, Ervic Vijandre and Jc Tiuseco, under the direction of Marlon Rivera; and “Desperado” starring Martin Escudero and Edgar Allan Guzman, directed by Topel Lee.

aside from Boy Pick Up, sabi ni Dennis na meron pang isang Regal movie na gagawin sya. i think pinagpipilian pa nila kung which movie... for me, i prefer Love Affair sana with Dengel na! kaya lang nakalista na sila lovi and enrique gil pala for this movie... pwede din Hysteria with Iza or Ride to Love with lovi poe, nikki gil etc. kasi looks like a hip cool romantic movie para maiba naman and this is directed by multi awarded indie director, adolf alix jr..
