Me balak din kasi mag-abroad. Hehe. Salamat!
Depende sa trabaho, sweldo at saan lugar. I would say most of the time ok ang mag-work sa US kung legal.

Back to the original question, in my personal opinion P165K/month is not enough. Kasi may taxes, SSS, etc. pa baka P120K/month na lang matira. To rent a decent place in Metro Manila, around P15K/month depende pa kung gaano kalaki. If you want to send your kids to good schools para di mapag-iwanan ng mga taga-US na ka-batch nila (just in case na gusto nila magbalik don), you'll spend at least 50K/month. My friend pays P30K/month sa private school na according to her mga 2nd or 3rd class lang, yung mga 1st class daw 75-100K/month. Kung nakauwi ka na sa Pinas recently, you'll know how hard it is to commute kaya mahirap walang sasakyan, another 17-20K/month para sa car loan. Wala pa dyan ang groceries, kasambahay, Meralco na sobrang mahal daw according to my ate, pati tubig, tapos siyempre konting R&R.

Anyway between making $100K/annum in the US vs P165K/month sa Pinas, I think mas marangya magiging buhay nung nasa Pinas. Yung $100K how much ba yan after taxes tapos depende pa kung saang state. I'm earning a little less than that (combined with my spouse's income of course mas mataas nang di hamak) pero lower ang cost of living dito sa amin (Canada) and I can say na hindi kami mayaman as in living a high lifestyle. with that $$$ simpleng buhay lang afford namin. Although we were able to buy a house sa prime location dahil priority naman talaga namin ang good neighborhood para sa mga anak namin. But still, P165K/month is not enough to entice me na magbalik sa Pinas, siguro kung P250K/month and above pa, kaso saan naman nag-e-exist yung job na yon sa Pinas? I think ang Director or Manager sa BSP only earns about P100K-P150K/month.

I do a lot of job hunting nowadays. Base sa mga search ko 150k in Manille is quite common especially in the back office of giant banks sa Makati o Taguig.

They are AVP positions looking for 7-10 years experience. These posts are in finance, HR, IT and consulting.

There are also new back office hubs in Manille offering as much as 500k (hindi typo) para sa senior managment naman. A lot are for finance roles like regional CFO, regional controller and the like roles.

At ito ang malupit: they operate as rohqs. Taxes are capped at 15%.

I heard companies paying these packages are JPMorgan, Deutsche, Citi, Wells Fargo and Barclays.
