Let's tell a story para maiba naman.
How to milk a cow: The Dodo's way.
There is a farmer who is so rich he could afford different farms. In one of his ranch he is keeping up hundred of cows which is being handled by a farmhand and some bulls. It is divided into different pens. One is called the Cow SiEs pen. The other is Cow BenTa pen. The poorest pen is what we call Cow Tek pen. We'll call the farmhand there Mr. Clean because he likes to keep things clean.
Now let's get to the main issue. How does Dodo milk a cow? All these pens have almost the same number of hays that they could eat. At least 18 bundles of hay above depending on your level. What differs is the amount of work that they do. In Cow BenTa pen they only need to munch and munch and they get more than 18 bundles of hay that they can eat. Essentially milking them while munching. In Cow SiEs pen they munch and also do a bit of a load to carry so Dodo milks them for everything that they do.
Let's talk about the poorest pen there. Cow Tek. Young cows and mature cows carry the same amount of load but not the number of hays that they can eat. Just imagine a cow carrying a wagon full of inconsistencies, support, $hit$, promises and the likes. It is very heavy believe me. And I think this is the only promise that they can make which they give very fast and almost without any warning. A promise of additional support for the coming year. Ask if they will give additional hays to eat for our poor cows? Nope. nada. zilch. nothing. I read in one of our articles that we should treat new support as a challenge. I said "duh?!" We don't need challenges. We're already over that. Kung yung matagal na nga dito eh hirap na hirap na sa mga support eh just imagine yung mga baguhan pa lang. How about the other level of cow Tek? Higher cows, different breed. Ha-ha-ha! Same crap with just some additional tools. Mas mahirap ang work nila. Just picture what they are doing. Carrying a wagon load of additional things which is effectively heavier than rank 1 and 2 cows. And at the same time they have to make sure that you are keeping track of what you are doing, no dilly dallying. They will tell you to do this and that at the same time. If you don't do it you'll receive a stern comment from higher ops. Eh ilan ba ang kamay namin? Do we have two bodies to do those things that you were asking. And then kapag nagkamali eh akala mo nakapatay ang agent kung pagsabihan.
How about the temporary bull head? In Dodo, it is not worth it to kill your body for the company and expect them to notice it. As a POC, you have at least 3 months to prove your worth and then by regulation you should be promoted as TL. Bakit si Sam nag-apply ng TL pero bumagsak tapos naging POC and then naging TL na? Bakit yung ibang POC more than 3 months na wala pa rin? One of their reason is hindi naman daw nag-apply ng TL ang mga POC natin. Aba e kung ganun pala e di hindi rin pala sana TL ngayun si Sam. (No offense to Sam kasi carry naman niya ang team niya) Yung ibang POC natin hirap sa mga teams nila and still after at least half a year na e POC pa rin. Dodo is milking them as a TL pero they are only giving them a mere fraction of what they are supposed to be getting. Kaya nga sa Dodo, it doesn't matter how good you are. Our POC's are considered very good but Dodo would not give them the position that they are working for. Siyempre tipid nga naman kasi if they would make them a TL e at least 10 or 12 bundles of hay din ang madadagdag sa kanilang sahod. I don't know why HR allows this. If a team is lacking a TL, they should hire a TL. Not just a temporary TL. A temporary TL is only good for a few weeks but more than that eh inuutakan na tayo niyan. Ngayon na lang naman tayo magha-hire ng TL after how many months na kulang na kulang ang mga TL. Sino ba ang dapat nagmamanage ng mga yan? Of course it should be Mr. Clean and the biggest Bull in the pen. The biggest Bull should be the one to oversee the operation. Mr. Clean and the Bull's job should not overlap each other. Kaya lang the way things are going the Bull doesn't even know what his job is anymore. Some of his jobs are being done by Mr. Clean himself which he should be the one to have done it in the first place. Does the Bull feels that he is also being milked unfairly by Dodo? His current salary is half of what other company is offering him. Is he now thinking of weighing his options? Does he think Dodo will look at his achievements(?) and give him a better deal? Think again....
Cow Tek is carrying a heavy load. Compared to the different pens we are being forced to carry more load than we could possibly carry. You are only paying us to carry a few load. If you want us to carry a few more then compensate by adding a few reason to stay. Have you imagined Rupert carrying 2 or more 50 Kilo sacks of rice all by himself? Not possible. Give him ways to increase his muscles and maybe he could. You expect too much from us yet you are not even finding a way to keep us at ease here. Tapos kapag nagkamali ka eh it's very easy to forget all the efforts that you have done to this company. Skills is not important here. You can be top agent with a minimal tech knowledge. Basta marunong ka lang dumikit sa taas. It's very funny. You hired us for our tech expertise pero napakadaming arte para lang maging maganda ang calls. KISS and ownership? Ha-ha-ha. It's true it helps a lot but isn't our goal to fix customer's issue and give better customer service? Your KISS and ownership can only work as far as it could be thrown. In short. It doesn't apply to every call. Kapag naresolve mo ang issue but hindi mo nagawa ang gusto nila eh bagsak ka pa rin. Paano naman ang agent na nagpakahirap para sa call na iyon?
I'm not suppose to post anymore since our request to have our salary increased were done a few months ago albeit not noticeable. So no need to post. But my namesake was banned from this forum for unknown reason. All the negative comments have been deleted from this thread. Effectively curtailing our rights to voice our opinions. This is not a good sign. We're not targeting Acquire itself but just one of his accounts. The other accounts in acquire is doing well so If you are planning on applying to Acquire then go for it. You created TeX in lieu of PeX but be realistic. You can never put your complaints and hang-ups there and not expecting anything in retaliation. This is supposed to be a free country. We can write anything that we want. If you have done those request that we were asking for a long time ago then there will never be a negative comments here. Now.... I know you are worried how our company would look like to the public, it's up to them if they believe it or not. Still Acquire is a good company. But the damage that you think we are doing here is inconsequential. If our posts is deleted again then I guess it's time to post in a different forum. Targeting it at it's source. ie:whirlpool. Paabutin pa ba sa ganun? Hopefully. By the coming new year. New things can be implemented. Higher salary (we don't need to reach certain metrics because we've proven time and time again that we can do it. Don't ask for something that we are already giving) Attendance bonus so we have good reason to have perfect attendance. Revamp your QA scoring. QA's are there to check for quality of your work and not how you bull$4it your customer to reach your standards. I think it was way better when we were in HTMT since you can work out your mistakes. All in all. I'll still stay here. Hopefully by next posting it would be not as grim as this post. (and not as long) I'm still hoping to have someone lead Tech the way it should be. Preferably someone who really has experience in doing it.....

I wonder what's going to happen next year? What with the queue that we are getting. 90+ calls waiting, too many inconsistencies, too few agents to take the calls. Just imagine. This is December. Supposed to be the fewest numbers of calls in a day. But with the numbers of calls waiting to be answered by beleaguered agents, expect more to come this coming January. And with the number of attrition climbing each week eh kawawa naman ang matitira sa atin. I don't think agents with no experience is the answer to our problems. If you are a new agent handling calls for multiple support then they will easily give in. It takes an experienced agent to accept everything that your company is giving. But as it is. Agents na tumanda na nga dito eh nagreresign na what more yung mga baguhan pa?
The problem is that they don't know how to see talents and skills. This is tech support and not a contest to see how the customer would feel by the way you handle your call. It should be secondary only. Foremost is your tech know how to resolve the customer's issue. Not the way you shout to goad your agents to finish their calls quickly. How can you give quality if you force agents to finish calls ASAP? Last time I checked I am working in a call center. One customer would say "Are you in a market?" Kasi parang palengke ang dating na nakakasira sa concentration ng mga agents. Here in Dodo, kung may kadikit ka na malakas sa taas. Even if you $uck when you handle calls eh puwede kang maging top agent. Nakakatawa nga. Do you think all of those names on the top list eh magaling talaga? Have you listened to their calls? Did you count the number of call backs they have to make to resolve issues that they can fix during that call? What would you feel if you can see someone you know who has serious problem with tech issues pero magiging L2S? Mauunahan pa ang iba na nag-apply talaga for that position. Tapos ang magiging sweldo eh the same with tenured L2S? Do you think it is fair? I think Leah should do a revamp on the way they measure top agents. They should do a major renovation on how they view tech support here in the Philippines. They said marami raw opportunity sa atin but I don't think so. Kung kadikit ka ng mga nasa taas puwede pa. Those that has skills, qualified and already tested on the floor like our POC's would never be TL's because they lack proper connection. Buti sana kung ipagtatanggol ka ni Al pero listen to the way he talks eh feeling mo ang may kasalanan eh ang mga POC if they failed to really motivate the team. Then magha-hire sila ng bagong POC to be a TL then another cadetship again then ibabagsak nila because that POC lacked something. Kahit pa palaging mataas ang scores ng team na iyon eh it would not count.
One thing that I miss with the old Dodo is the camaraderie of the agents. Kahit TL, kahit anong level ng agents yan eh puwede mong kausapin. I'm excluding the program manager because he is a completely different person now. So if you work in Dodo kahit maraming calls eh carry na carry natin kasi magkakasama tayo lahat. Did you feel the change in our Christmas party? No more gusto, no excitement not like before. At least organized naman ang Christmas party natin. Walang nagutom as far as I know, hindi nagulpi si Reb kasi hindi um-attend. Mark had a case of food poisoning yata but I think he is okay now. You should be careful with your food now mate'. As I keep on saying. I still have my belief that Dodo tech will be better. A good leader is what we need. Someone who knows what he is doing. Someone who feels the agent and is doing something to make life easier for them. Someone who see skills not social perception with their agents. We used to have one before but he got lost in the murky world of "politicks".

Its nice to know that Knight is in Vietnam. Ok. My turn.
First of all, noon ko pa gusto mag-post dito. Hinintay ko lang na maibigay ang sweldo ko. Baka kase hindi ibigay eh kapag hindi nagustuhan ang sinabi ko dito. And as of this writing, I am no longer part of this company for I cannot stand it anymore.
Well, I will admit. Bago lang ako sa company. I came from other companies na much more lucrative sa Acquire. Why did I transfer? Simply because of the convenience. Inisip ko kase malapit lang sa house namin so I can spend more time with my kid. At first OK eh. Pero on the latter part of my stint, I started realizing, I guess it's not all that it's cracked up to be.
Napakaraming hindi tama sa kumpanyang ito. Nakaka-suka ang mga policies nila, cost-cutting, reasoning, processes na to be honest, could have been averted kung naiisip lang nila ang kapakanan ng mga empleyado nila.
Let me give an example. Well, scheduled sana kami to come to work on holidays (specifically the Christmas and New Year). Siyempre masaya kami kasi double-pay. Kaso lang, at the very last minute. Binago ang usapan, biglang iniba ang schedule namin and get this.. ginawang OFF namin ang lahat ng holidays. That to me is friggin' absurd. Para lang makatipid sa pasweldo eh babaguhin ang schedule mo kahit naka-plot na. OK, siguro that's beyond me. Pero majority of us, didn't like it. Hence, the exodus.
Eto pa isa, I might be wrong with the dates but this is roughly a close enough recapitulation of what has transpired. We were scheduled for phone time on a Saturday. Which makes sense to me because nung time na yun, puro concepts lang ang alam namin. Wala pa yung processes and tools use. Pero dahil they need people to help with the queue, they pulled us out of training on a Wednesday and had us take calls for the entire shift. Considering (heck, do they even know the word!?) na wala pa kami alam kung pano gamitin yung softphone. Pano mag transfer ng calls. Pano mag properly document. In short, hindi pa kami ready mag calls. Kung kailangan nila ng taong makakatulong sa queue, eh di sana inaalagaan nila ang mga empleyado nila, para walang masyadong nagre-resign. That way, hindi nila isinasalang ang mga agents na hindi pa dapat nagca-calls. That for us is mismanagement.
And another. I would like to give this message from the people on the bottom hanggang dun sa kataas-taasang boss ng Acquire. If you guys can't give something, wag na kayong mangako at magpa-asa. Sabihin niyo na lang ng diretsuhan. Hindi yung gagawin nyo pa kaming uto-uto para lang mag-stay diyan. Marunong naman kaming maka-intindi.
Parting words. Companies ought to build careers, not just provide jobs. If you want people to stay, treat them in such a way that they'd want to stay. Talk to the people on the bottom. Those guys know the real picture. Instead of those guys near the top who almost always would just give you their side of the story. The only thing na na-appreciate ko dito sa Acquire is yung trainer ko. His name is Bray. I wish you guys give Bray more credit than he deserves. I appreciate his people skills. Although we didn't start off in the right foot, we ended up on one. Good luck to Bray.

In Layman's term. How do you define dodo bird?... I rest my case... It is hard to move away from that image if we keep on doing mundane things. Like shouting if there are queues. What does shouting do?! Would it lower down our queue? Would it give better service with our customers? Nope. Nothing. It adds multiple pressures to our agents and customers. How do you feel if you are besides an irate agent?! You could lose your concentration and possibly not be able to perform at your peak because you are experiencing an irritation. Shouting whenever there are queues are producing the same irritant. IT DOES NOT HELP!
Try to upgrade some semblance of logic in our business. This is a call center. Expect a lot of calls coming in. If there are no calls it could either mean that the service is so good or it really sux. Do not force your agents to hasten up the calls if the queue is starting to pile up. Customer would always wait on the other line because they need our help. Let them wait. They can't do anything not unless they talk to us. Quality service should always be topmost priority. What can we do? Our agents are not that many to begin with so don't blame us if calls are piling up. The best thing to do is let the ATL or TL's approach an agent who is taking his time sa phone. That would be the professional way to do it. Let the TL of the teams handle it. By doing that you are showing respect to the agent, the calls and with the customer.
Please. This is a new year. Hopefully a new start. Let the image of the old Dodo fade away and change it with a smarter and logically sound way of helping customers.
