Agree with fellow Bedans here. Boost the support for each school first and everything will follow.
Out of town games are ridiculous. They should increase the attendance by going back to all week-end games like they did before. Saturday and Sunday games only. Weekday games should be for the pro's or commercial teams only. Schools are supposed to hold classes during the week and ALL students should be going to class including the athletes. There was never a problem in attendance before when they held the games on weekends only. Then everyone, students, faculty, and alumni would be able to attend the games.
Feeling ko sinadya yan ng AKTV to coincide with provincial games of the PBA. Logistics will be zero cost on our part, but the NC teams will have to make the long trip just to fulfill dreams of bringing the league to the provinces. Kung gusto ng liga natin yang set-up eh hitting two birds with one stone ang AKTV naman.
Magbilang muna tayo ng venues within Luzon na kayang abutin ng NCAA through their sister schools, tsaka na natin isipin mag-island hopping. At kung aabot man tayo diyan eh dapat sponsored at least two NCAA teams na maglalaban before ang double-header ng PBA sa mas malayong lugar.
Okay lets count:
Mapua - Laguna
Benilde - Cavite, Laguna
San Beda - Muntinlupa
Letran - Bataan, Laguna
San Sebastian - Cavite
Perpetual - Cavite, Laguna
EAC - Cavite
Lyceum - Cavite, Laguna
^^ For now kami palang pala ang may school sa central luzon, kung ang AUF nasa NCAA padin possibleng mapalawak natin ang fanbase sa northern part ng luzon with the help of Letran Bataan and AUF
Sorry, but I do not understand why they would want to promote NCAA and widen the fan-base and tap into the provinces. This is not a commercial league, for heaven's sake. All we need is any semblance of support from the student body from each schools.
This is basically a classic sample of providing quick-fix solutions which do not exactly and directly address issues. If there are problem with gate attendance then look for solutions how games will have better attendance. If NC really wants to get national reach, is it the proper way to get it?
^^ basically both the league and AKTV are already anticipating that there wont be enough revenue generated from local gate receipts. in the provinces where people are so thirsty to watch ANYTHING LIVE as long as its from MANILA, will ensure packed stadiums thus more income for both AKTV and the NCAA.
face it, di nga nyo mapuno ang The Arena eh, (except if its SBC vs. SSCR and Championship Games) so paano naman kikita yung League and yung Network? NCAA isnt as popular as the UAAP thus corporate sponsors will also be minimal unlike on Studio23 where the UAAP has so many sponsors that the spill-over is already enough to pay for NCAA Airtime (di pa kasama mga co-sponsoring deals ex. If you want to have your TV ads shown during the UAAP halftime, you have no choice but to buy tv spots during the NCAA broadcast as well) .. thats powerful leverage currently enjoyed by Studio23 -- THE UAAP MBT.
meron nagpost "This is not a commercial league, for heaven's sake" which is true, however this isn't a CHARITY either and TV airtime costs MILLIONS.
I agree! It's not yet the right time for NCAA to go out of town.
They have to concentrate first here in Metro Manila and make ways to generate more gate attendance from the member schools. Then saka pagusapan yung plano to bring the games out of town.
Kaya lang nabroadcast na to sa papers kaya mapapahiya sila kung hindi nila itutuloy!
And sometimes, you can even notice some PBA provincial games with a not-so-packed coliseum...may games pa nga na aalog alog eh
I think before NC risks going to other markets, they should maximize first their current market...tignan muna kung ano ang effect ng weekend games
this will be the first time for the NCAA to show its brand of basketball live to a large alternative audience, i anticipate crowds will come in droves to see these Manila based teams for the first time. PBA kasi medyo paulit-ulit na rin nakakapunta sa mga provincial locations so pwede sawa na rin sila (except siempre kung Ginebra yung maglalaro) I believe, the NCAA is an established brand, enough to attract both hardcore and casual basketball fans alike. and im sure yan din ang inaasahan ng AKTV thats why they are suggesting holding out of town games.
