    7-11 vs Pinoy balut vendors

Makatarungan bang ang mga Pinoy head of the family balut vendors ay kukumpitensyahin pa ng mga big companies like 7-11?

    Boiled Egg: 8
    Penoy: 10
    Balut: 15

Kung tutuusin pwede sa batas di ba? Pero naman!!! Barya na nga lang kita nila

i think may magandang reason naman yun, si manong mambabalut is not always around kaya si 7-11 ay naghahatid din ng convenience para sa mga naglilihi sa balut/penoy/boiledegg.

whoever said life is/has to be fair? lol.

and fyi, 7 eleven is a brand name of a franchise, not a company per se. hindi 7 eleven ang kalaban ng mga magbabalot. yung franchisees. lol. may mga 7 eleven kaya na walang tindang balot.

I'd rather buy from the magbabalut to help their poor families but if their prices are not cheap.

Sorry, I'm a working class too. I will get both quality and affordability elsewhere. In this case, 7-11.

Mapa hotdog o rice meal o balut man yan. Too many stories of food poisoning dyan sa 7-11.

They're you go. That conjunction almost always negate a statement from being said/necessary.

  19. #18
If 7-11 can sell Balut at a lower price, balut vendors should be able to do the same. Not only is 7-11 paying tax, there's also overhead (rent/electricity/manpower).

This is a wake up call for balut vendors that you can't sell balut forever. They have to be more creative.

    Another thing:

What's the freshness of the balut from the balut vendor's basket compared to 7-11's display? Sa 7-11 dadaan pa yan sa warehouse at ididistribute pa yan to 7-11 stores all over the Metro. Who cooks the balut fro 7-11? Mina-microwave ba yung balut sa 7-11?

Not really. Common microeconomics sense: small vendors always sell at higher price compare to big ones. This applies almost everywhere including the US eg Walmart vs. small businesses.

How? Wholesale. Price of individual units are cheaper so even if they sell it at relatively lower price, they still are making much more profit. And the fact that big businesses OWN their own distribution (including shipping, once again eg Walmart) the price altogether of each unit to the seller is cheaper compare to small businesses whose business cost are higher (because they either pay for or incur the added price via each product they buy) due to the middle men (transport and distributors).

That's why I laughed at "if the prices are lower". You're pretty much asking the small businesses to go bankrupt.
