Where were Almazan and Espiritu yesterday?
Have you seen yesterdays game (DLSU-SBC)? It was a good game though La Salle didn't win. I think that there was a problem with the rotation of the player in la salle's team. For the rookies Teng played good, however; he seems to be a it of a ball hog. Tallo did a great job, given 6 minutes of playing time he was able to help the team recover from 18 points na tambak nila. Kung pinasok lang sya ng maaga, they would have won. Their coach should give their players more playing time especially for those who have potentials, wag na ipilit yung mga veterans na pauilit2x na error ang ginagawa.
Well, this might be a good start for Mark Tallo after transferring from Ateneo. For me, I felt bad at first nung lumipat sya but then naisip ko na tama di yung decision nya. Ateneo keeps on recruiting MVPs from other schools pero binabangko lang nya, "hoarder" kung baga. I will not name these players nlng. Kng ako din nasa situation ni Tallo, I would do the same.
He went to the US with the team and with the hope na kasama sya sa rotation ng last year's UAAP(2011).
With the way he played yesterday, I truly believe that I will be watching more of him on the court and not on the bench.
magaling yung tallo, playmaker..
It's interesting to see how the new system for the Green Archers can work effectively for them in the UAAP, but unfortunately as the commentators of that game described them, too many 1-on-1 plays happened because the Red Lions got their number after that GA 6-0 run with a counter-run of 13-0 in the 1st quarter. Add Adeogun dominating in the paint and Armon showcasing his shooting prowess, the Archers were flustered and their offensive rhythm disrupted for the rest of the game. But Coach Gee can take comfort in the fact that this tourney will serve it's purpose in reinforcing the system he wanted to establish and make his team formidable again.
It's also interesting to know how the Blazers can apply the same system in the NCAA. I do hope Coach RDR was watching the RL-GA game or at least took notes about their sister team's demise so he can create more adjustments.![]()

Double-double against Slaughter.
i believe the foreign player of perps was the surprise for ADMU.. from the tweets ive read, he's a legit 6'6 with good post moves and foot work. i'm sure he'll be closely monitored by NCAA schools. for me this is a good development for perps and the NCAA basketball tournament as well.
---nice game for uphsd. . sayang natalo pa instead of overtime sana oh well ganyan talaga mga referee. . gagawin ang lahat. . LOLZ! but you give ateneo a good fight =)))
San Beda Red Lions defeated the Tigers , 70-54
Ateneo opens Fr. Martin campaign with easy win
Ateneo nearly suffered a meltdown before escaping with a 62-60 win over University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA Wednesday in the Fil Oil-Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
Greg Slaughter scored two free throws for the four-time defending UAAP titlist with three seconds in the game to sneak a win past the NCAA cellar dwellers last year.
“We weren’t ready and we didn’t play as a team. Perpetual Help played well but it’s a good thing that we came out with the win,” said Ateneo assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga, who took the cudgels for head coach Norman Black for the second time.
The Blue Eagles improved to a 2-0 win-loss but squandered a 12-point fourth quarter lead as the Altas came out with a furious comeback.
The Altas had a 6-0 run capped by a Chris Elopre three-point play to cut the deficit to one point, 58-57. They had a chance to take a lead but Earl Thompson turned the ball over, leading to a lay-up by Oping Sumalinog with 19.5 seconds left.
Perpetual Help tied the match when Jett Vidal scored a three-pointer with 13.6 seconds remaining, but Slaughter was able to grab an offensive rebound off a miss by Nico Salva and was fouled from behind by Thompson.
Slaughter calmly sank both free throws to take the lead for Ateneo. Perpetual Help had a shot to claim an improbable win but the desperate three by Vidal hit the board.
Nico Salva had 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists while Slaughter added 13 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks for Ateneo, who had a 47-35 lead to open the fourth on a jumper by Justin Chua.
Nigerian Femi Babayemi scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Altas.
The Adamson Falcons, meanwhile, posted an 80-67 win over the Lyceum Pirates in the first game.
Rodney Brondial had an all-around game with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks for the Falcons to grab a win in their debut.
