Magnum is my new love! sulit!![]()
Okay, we tried the 3 flavors just now, :
1. Classic - manipis lang yung coating niya, and yung ginamit nilang chocolate eh bitter sweet, dark chocolate.
2. Truffles - my husband's choice, eto daw ang masarap for him.
Yung vanilla ice cream naman sa loob, very smooth, well kalasa lang niya ang sundae ng mcdo which is a fave of mine.
Yung almond lang ang kakainin ko ulit if ever mag craved ako for an ice cream on stick
verdict : 8/10, ordinary ice cream but yummy.
^ yep girl, sarap nga, napaka sinful niya, haha.
Gotta buy one at Ministop before going to work tomorrow. Matikman nga.
Which flavor should I go for on the first try? Any suggestions?![]()
I doubt the chocolate in Classic is dark because it is too sweet to be dark chocolate.
kiraoftheskies
try mo almond, sarap nung chocolate haha.

Magnum Mini Double Caramel (From the Dark Chocolate Series)

dunno about the classic being dark chocolate (i don't think it is) but the coating tastes different from the almond one. the almond tastes creamier to me, it reminds me of lindt milk chocolate![]()
classic lang ang available sa robinsons galleria supermarket na magnum variant. so bumili ako ng isa para matikman ko ang magnum na pinaguusapan ng marami. i wanted to try the truffle one first then almond then classic sadly classic nga lang ang available sa supermarket...
hindi naman siya ganun ka sweet and yea i think the chocolate coating is dark chocolate and manipis nga lang although mascreamy siya compared sa ibang brands. it was ok for me... i was expecting a very big difference in taste compared to other ice creams though sadly hindi pala... siguro dahil sweet lover ako and may natikman akong masmasarap kaysa dito... pero classic lang naman kasi ito... hindi naman talaga ako mahilig sa classic lang kaya siguro ganito pero kung classic flavor lang ang paguusapan masarap na ito kaya lang for me not worth my 50php. pero okay na siya para matikman dahil bibili talaga ako dapat nito para matikman.
yet to try truffle and almond. sana hindi ako madisappointed hehe.
It's not supposed to blow your mind off, it's simply easy-to-get good quality ice cream which is a rarity in this country.
It has a high price tag for a reason. Same goes with the cheap ice cream offered by Selecta and Magnolia. You get what you pay for.
To those saying "nothing special", wala naman kasi dapat special sa kanya to begin with. It's freaking ice cream, not ecstasy or marijuana. Like what I said before, it's a good ice cream found all over the world. It won't be that widely popular if doesn't taste good. If you'd rather settle for P20 Cornetto's that taste like water it's your choice. We all have different standards for "sulit".
Walk into a convenience store or a small grocery and name 1 ice cream that's in the same league as Häagen-Dazs, Dreyer's, Ben & Jerry's but for a fraction of the price. That's right, before Magnum, there was none. People looking for good ice cream had to settle for something mediocre.
Those Korean ice creams might be as good or even better than a Magnum but the question is can they be found as easily?
The Magnum hype was created by the people. There will be those who will join the hype and those who will go against it. But luckily there are also people like me who appreciate it for what it is, high-quality ice cream that's easy to find but not as expensive as a Häagen-Dazs.
I created this thread because I was able to enjoy Magnum many years ago in other countries, I'm just glad it's finally here. It's annoying to see people put meaning into everything. It's only a hype if you are making a big deal out of a freaking ice cream.
Parang Milk Tea lang yan eh. If P50-P60 is too expensive for an imported ice cream, how about P100 for a milk tea with ingredients that are way cheaper than a Magnum stick. It's either you like it or don't like it. For the people who genuinely like something and not because of the hype, the price will not really matter. Sulit man ang P100 para sa milk tea o hindi, if I feel like it, I will buy it.
Enjoy the good things in life without having to put meaning into everything you do.
You do have a point on the milk tea part. The ingedients are mostly melted sugar and bobba that you can buy for PHP 40.00 a kilo, and you can probably make about 150 glasses with that kilo
Nagpapamahal doon yung pwesto eh hehe
