    Congratulations FEU!

  2. #42
FEU really came up fully prepared here in Game 1.. ayaw na nilang maulit yung nangyari sa kanila nung last 2 finals nila against UST...

nice!!! congrats feu-mvt. can't wait to see the delayed telecast on tv.

  4. #44
I knew it. FEU would perform better than the way they did with DLSU.

Congrats to our FEU MVT!

    > Not to discredit anything on AdU MVT, I honestly feel na mas na train ang FEU MVT sa final 4 match nila which we all know na nahirapan talaga sila umatake dahil sa superb blocking ng DLSU. Naging effective lahat ng attackers today. Galing!

Pero it is just game 1, you need to win 2 to get that championship. Pero naniniwala din ako na kung match up ang labanan with UST, I feel na may advantage ang FEU MVT.

i was amazed with the win! FEU was able to beat UST in 3 straight sets, reminiscent of their finals game in the Unigames.

their blocking was far better, plus their serves gave UST a lot of hard time.

Labrador, Avila and Dela Calzada kudos to the three of you as well as De Ocampo.

but im sure UST will not give the championship easily and they will try to bounce back on Wednesday.

bakit ganon? CRUSH ko ata buong line-up ng FEU men's vball team. grabe!

The 4-peat will end on Wednesday. FEU in 4 sets. Victory for the teams in green.

  12. #52
i thought UST really has the upperhand or the advantage like what others say here but it turns out FEU played like there is no more tomorrow, crushing UST's defense plus UST's offense was not well coordinated.

match ups based on game 1:

    setters: De Ocampo vs Ucang

De Ocampo's setting skill was amazing he was able to fool UST's defense too considering that he too can attack the ball on the 2nd touch. Ucang on the other hand was not able to distrubute the ball properly and his sets became too predictable, he was also a liability in the blocking department.

    middle hitters: Labrador vs Rico

Labrador proved to be an all around player as he dismantled UST's defense especially with his back row hits. Rico also contributed to UST's cause with his very strong middle hits.

    open hitters: Beliran vs Depante

Beliran did not make his presence felt this time and he also had several errors but Depante's performance was not exceptional as well, i believe he only had several attacks which penetrated FEU's defense

    utilities: Dela Calzada vs Ramos

Dela Calzada's game was a big revelation especially when with his blocks. but UST's Ramos contributed as well and his serves were quite strong even for FEU's libero

    middle hitters: Faytaren vs Arbasto

Faytaren gave points when it mattered most but i believe its not enough because compared to Arbasto he can be a good threat especially offensively although during the last game his attacks were a bit soft

    open hitters: Avila vs Alfafara

i dont know why but everytime Avila plays against UST he just come alive and he played really smart as he was able to swipe his attacks against the block of Ucang. Alfafara can be an explosive player too but his game was totally off last time plus he was not able to hit the balls very hard

    liberos: Gabriel vs Doloiras

Gabriel was able to control much of his receives to FEU's advantage however he still cannot be at par with Doloiras performance who was able to cover much of FEU's attacks plus he moves very fast.

Congrats to FEU. they really showed too much hunger and determination to get the crown thus, winning game 1 convincingly.

This is UST's worst game in almost 5years. The blockers are too late to react. The reception's way off that's why Kerr's sets were very predictable. Plus, most of the spikes are soft. It's also not good to see that they are getting lots of points from FEU's errors especially in the 2nd and 3rd set. All in all, FEU really outplayed them in all aspects big time.

For them to win, just take advantage of their edge against FEU stats wise, which being 2nd best in blocking, best in receiving and attacking. All those advantages were non-existent on this game. Hopefully, they make the necessary adjustments for them to extend the game to a winner take all game. The veterans really need to step up since the young gunners are obviously getting jitters in the finals.

^^ If they will be the champion, he will be the unanimous choice for that award.

  19. #59
the worst game for ust and it came in a finals match, who would've thought, anyway babawe yan for sure, nothing to go but up for ust =)
