UAAP S74 Women's Volleyball Mythical Team

Guys, kung magkaroon ng ganitong category sa awarding sino mga bet nyo starters and reserves? Starting ko would be: Cha Cruz, Gumabao, Marano, Dimaculangan, Vasquez, Pineda, Ortiz. Reserves ko would be: Soriano, Cainglet, Esperanza, Agno, Roxas, Banaticla, Mika Reyes. Am basing my picks on players with height, athleticism, volleyball IQ, and defense.

    here's my roster
open: Cha Cruz/Marano, Valdez, Cainglet, Vargas
    middle: Mika Reyes, Ortiz
    utility: Marano/Cha Cruz, Gervacio
    setter: Ferrer, Dimaculangan, Esperanza
    libero: Agno

This is all based on their performance this season. I would have wanted to put Soriano, Pineda, Banaticla and Sy on the list but I opted to limit it to 12-woman roster. Don't ask me anymore about starting six kasi sa 12 pa lang na yan litong lito na ako

Hindi pa though pwede for National Team itong mga ito maliliit even the middles maliit for International standards hehehehehehe

OPEN: Cha Cruz and Alysa Valdez sub Cai Nepomuceno
MIDDLE: Maika Ortiz and Abi Marano sub Mika Reyes
UTILITY: Pau Soriano sub Angeli Araneta
    SETTER: Rhea Dimaculangan
LIBERO: Tin Agno sub Angelica Vasquez
    Service Specialist: Fille Cainglet
    Backline defender: Denden Lazaro

    1st six:

    Valdez---Ortiz---Soriano
    Dimac---Marano---Cruz
    L: Agno

since liability sa likod si Aly
pagikot niya sub si Fille then Ortiz to denden
Fille can attack backline and may good Floor D
so kargado pa din ang likod kahit umikot

    Dimac---Marano---Cruz
    Fille---Denden---Agno

MIDDLE: Abi Maraño, Maika Ortiz (Mika Reyes)
    UTILITY: Michele Gumabao
    SETTER: Mika Esperanza

Setter: Rhea Dimaculangan (thinker, good server and blocker)

Open: Cha Cruz (versatile) and Cainglet (dependable front and back row attacker)

Utility: Michelle Gumabao (the best in blocking, good attacker also) or Dzi Gervacio (great server and attacker, has blocking skills also)

Middle: Abi Marano (great attacker and dependable back row player) and Maika Ortiz (powerful attacker)

    Libero: Tin Agno

    Coach: Ramil De Jesus

    Reserves:

Open: Rose Vargas and Maru Banaticla
    Utility: Judy Caballejo
Middle: Mika Reyes and Pau Soriano
    Setter: Jem Ferrer
    Libero: Den Lazaro
    Assistant Coach: Odjie Mamon

OPEN: Valdez and Vargas (mga halimaw kung humataw!)
    MIDDLE: Ortiz and Maraño
    Utility: Gervacio
    Setter: Ferrer
    Libero: AGno

  9. #9
    Open Wingers: Valdez and Cruz
Universal: I want Marano here, having good floor defense, she's fit for this position.
    Middlewomen: Ortiz and Soriano.
Setter: Esperanza. She has the height at alam niya perfect sets sa mga spikers niya. (Currently, alam niya ang sets para kay Mika, iba para kay Galang, iba para kay Cruz, iba para kay Abi - she makes the best out of her spikers.)
Libero: Agno. Sige, try niyo magspike papunta sa kanya, papalakpakan ka niya. She makes the best setter in Sy.

    Reserves:
    Open: Cainglet and Banaticla
Universal: Roxas. Good floor defender too.
    Middlewomen: Reyes and Eulalio
    Setter: Dimaculangan
    Libero: Vasquez/Lazaro

Do you mean Utility? O talagang may ganyang position sa volleyball? @.@

Why I prefer Marano and Roxas over Gumabao since the former 2 have good floor defense, aside from being reliable attackers/blockers.

    Subs in parentheses

Open: Cha and Fille (Vargas and Valdez) - went with the superior passers to start

Utility: Gumabao (Gervacio) - no other utility player was close to these two, but the better blocker and spiker gets the start

Middle: Marano and Soriano (Ortiz and Mika R) - Soriano might be an odd pick over Ortiz, but I like her defense at the net better and is a comparable spiker to Ortiz

Setter: Esperanza (Dimaculangan) - While the setting numbers don't bear it out, I am of the firm belief that Esperanza is the best setter in the league (feel free to disagree); obviously I take other things into consideration (I will admit though that this pick is biased...)

Libero: Vasquez (Agno) - the two best liberos in season 74; Vasquez gets the nod cause she's in fact better than Agno - better receiver and comparable digger - again feel free to disagree

A last thought: I really think that ADMU should try Valdez at middle (I mean she's taller and more skilled than the players they played there); if she were a middle player, she might have gotten the nod over both Soriano and Ortiz
