FINALLY, Dingdong Dantes received his MMFF best actor trophy (for “Segunda Mano”) from Atty. Francis Tolentino in the formal launching of MMFF 2012 and appreciation dinner in making MMFF 2011 a big success.

A true gentleman that he is, Dingdong shrugs off comments implyingpolitics in his winning.

“I am very happy and proud to receive this award made even more memorable of the fact that this is my first ever in my entire showbiz career. Ang jacket na suot ko ay sadyang inilaan ko para sa event na ito. I was in Boracay when the awards was held and I could have worn this then. As an actor ay hangad ko ang makagawa pa ng mga makabuluhang project, festival man o hindi.” he said with a big smile.

Timed with the event is the handing of cash prizes to the winners of last year's filmfest led by “Asiong Salonga” which romped away with 11 awards.

MMFF is now on its 38th year. It was founded by former President Joseph Estrada when he was still mayor of San Juan.
