UST Sta Rosa - Any news/updates?

It's been a while since I read an update on this. Anyone can give me an update on the construction? Tuloy pa ba to?

Saw a sign/traffic sign near the Greenfields City/Eton City Exit in SLEX and it reads:

University of Santo Tomas
Sta. Rosa Campus --->

or (can't remember exactly what it says)

Sta. Rosa --->

Its located at the right side of the Laguna bound exit and about 500 meters away from SLEX. That's why it would be dramatic if the orientation of the future campus will front the expressway.

Just when I thought that the idea of UST neo-campus is laid aside, here comes the first physical evidence!

Any time frame for this 400th year project? A year has passed by yet, we still have to see a concrete and published project (or even the proposal).

Tapos gamitin na ng maayos ang Isabel building para hindi nabubulok lang. Bili na rin sila ng mga lote sa paligid ng campus, gawin either parking lots or academic buildings para mabawasan ang congestion sa campus.

This doesn't make sense at all.

First of all, this will only encourage discrimination. Paano mo "ibebenta" ang UST Santa Rosa sa mga incoming freshmen kung alam naman na lahat ng magaling sa Espana pupunta?

Second, sayang lang ang effort at perang gagastusin kung lahat ng college/faculty na matatagpuan sa Espana campus ay may katumbas sa Santa Rosa. Imbis na ganyan, yung mga course na kakaunti lang ang kumukuha nalang ang ilipat sa Santa Rosa campus.

Im not for this because it will be a great burden for people who are both working and studying at the same time (most grad students are working by the way). Ang Ateneo, FEU, UP and DLSU nga nilalapit nila ang grad schools nila sa mga pwedeng mag aral habang nagtratrabaho. Sayang din ang TARC na ngayon pa lang talaga tahasang nagagamit.

Mas okay kasi kung hindi naka-siksik sa isang building ang research-work, tulad ng mga college sa America. While I agree na magiging hassle ito para sa mga nagwo-work pa, maybe UST can offer incentives based on proximity, credentials of the student, etc.

Pwede siguro dito ilipat ang FMS, tapos gawin nilang partners ang lahat ng ospital sa South. Although I highly doubt that will happen since FMS alumni helped fund the construction of the new Alumni Center.
